  1. I love any Trabant or Falling Star/Rainbow. Both rides have crazy sideways airtime.
  2. ^ Let's not forget that they also have the Top Eliminator Dragsters area that, while small, would provide room for a new small coaster, area with some flat rides, or even just extra space to expand Twisted Twins into if the park wants.
  3. After going to the park many times i want to say that the park has come a long way. Everything feels new again and the staff is very friendly. There are lots of security officers and twice I saw them handling situations with rowdy people. There are a lot more families at the park and food is very reasonable. You can get two slices of pizza for 6.50 with a season pass.I did encounter a few minor hiccups, like when they started the carousel when my mom and grandmother were not on it as there did not appear to be a mirror, but overall the park was clean, friendly and efficient.
  4. ^ Also, Astroworld and Kentucky Kingdom are surprisingly similar. They both have/ had locations near downtown, problems with parking, and were both arguably neglected. I'll bet that if Kentucky Kingdom was not on leased land, it might have gone the same way as Astroworld. Its kind of funny how the fair board/ leased land is part of what killed the park originally, and also what ultimately saved the park from total demolition. It does seem like if anyone could have saved Astroworld, it would have been Ed Hart.
  5. Does anyone know if Safari Off Road Adventure usually operates in the rain?
  6. Does anyone know why the park still has not gotten an entrance sign. It would not seem so strange if they did not still have the old six flags entrance sign still there empty. They really need to get a sign or take down the frame.
  7. You know you're at a Six Flags park when they are somehow managing to stack a one train operation.
  8. Also a response from the IOE facebook page " If anything, you'll feel more similarities to RMC than you ever will to the CM coasters." CM means Chance Morgan
  9. It is so strange to see the Kings Dominion logo without flags to dot the I's. It just looks unnatural to see regular dots.
  10. ^ I know when six flags was there Six Flags owned the area by twisted twins, thunder run, and blizzard river, and rented the rest from the fair board. I do not know what the current situation is. That was part of the reason for the huge debate for the chang removal was because some of it was on fair board land, and some of it was on Six Flags property. I tend to think now that the fair board owns all the land since they acquired the remaining land from the settlement with six flags. But they could have sold the former six flags land back to Ed Hart.
  11. So if Six Flags sold the part of the park that they owned to the fair board does that mean that the fair board now owns all of the land that Kentucky Kingdom sits on, or did they sell the part they purchased from Six Flags back to Ed Hart.
  12. The Kentucky Kingdom web site now includes height limits. Some have changed, for instance the minimum height him Himalaya is 60 inches and Breakdance is 54 inches, o well safety first I guess.
  13. How much re-work was done to Thunder Run at Kentucky Kingdom? Just a re-track or did it get any modifications? I think the most recent re- do was simply new track, but I do know that when it first opened it had a double up instead of the gradual air-time hill after the second turn around.
  14. The Kentucky Kingdom park map has been updated and now includes a new family tea cup ride and a few other small changes.
  15. If the article is right about Ed Hart wanting to combine both sides of twisted twins to make the "worlds longest wooden rollercoaster", then that rules out an I- box RMC conversion. Twisted Twins already has steel supports, so adding steel track would make it entirely a steel coaster with the look of a wooden one.
  16. The Great Escape could use a nice thrill coaster either a premier launch like superman or a clone of dare devil dive . They have not gotten a real coaster in over ten years.
  17. Son of beast's loop and Rattler's first drop
  18. I noticed that the old attitudes gift shop (the one that chang's corkscrew went over) is one of the few buildings not to be numbered on the park map. I wonder if it will just be used for park storage now. It seems like it would be more usefull selling waterpark things, but maybe not.
  19. I love how they have lightning run and thunder run, also lightning run pays a bit of homage to greezed lightnin. Kentucky kingdom claims to have a 5d cinema. Does anyone know what the 5th dimension will be?
  20. The park has confirmed that the rides listed on screamscape are no longer correct. This was taken fron the parks facebook. SPOILER ALERT: Screamscape found out the new attractions: A new 135-foot swing ride, a new steel coaster, new water park attractions and a Kraken Slide (Mat Racer). 2 ยท 23 hours ago.. Kentucky Kingdom Sorry, but that is incorrect. It represents outdated information that was referenced in an earlier plan that was prepared in response to the State's RFP. 28 minutes ago..
  21. Kentucky kingdom has released an on ride pov of thunder run testing. Here is the link http://m.wlky.com/entertainment/Raw-video-Thunder-Run-rolls-again/-/17432334/22373892/-/19mf05/-/index.html
  22. There has been some talk about kk getting the time machine rollercoaster from hard rock park, but due to timing, money, and space that just doesn't seem practical. But what if kentucky kingdom got their mine train or launched coaster. This also fits nicely with the screamscape rumor that rides will be leaving hard rock park very soon.
  23. Does anyone know if they run all of the lights and effects on the dark knight coaster in Mexico. I know last time I went to great adventure there were very few lights turned on.
  24. According to the newspaper, the thrill park theater will be turned into a 4d theater with scents and wind and the kiddie area will be renamed King Louie's Playground.
