  1. Cell service at SFOG is very spotty. Some places are 4G and some are edge or 2G. It's weird. I also have tmobile and it's not that great at SFOG. As for being on my phone at the park...I spend a lot of time taking pics and video. I usually post everything to instagram and facebook while I'm there or when I get home. Days or weeks later I will make a video for my youtube and twitter. It's been 4 weeks since I was at Cedar Point and I'm still making that video from everything I filmed. I try not to be on my phone at the parks too much, and it aggravates the family some that I am. But seeing how I'm not close to any parks, I don't get to visit very often so I get all I can while I'm there. For you folks who live next door to a park that can go every week, you're lucky.
  2. One more little rant about SFOG but I'm sure it's common at all Six Flags and that is customer comfort. I can not believe they didn't install any fans or just one fan inside the Twisted Cyclone queue area. There is absolutely no air flow inside that building. It's almost near torture. But that being said, there is nothing worse than Batman's loading area. I do love SFOG...but not so much on 90 degree days.
  3. My wife and I were the ones who had to wait for the next train. Seat 23, left back row on the black train wasn't working. We tried swapping seats but it just wouldn't work. We ended up riding the red train on the back. The next to last row on the red train was roped off and that's how that last 2 people got a ride by themselves. Both trains are having issues, I guess maintenance is just doing patch jobs on them. As for skyscreamer incident, I missed that...We were over in that area around 1pm and rode skyscreamer then. It's sad how people act, but I guess it's pretty common on bring a friend free day.
  4. Yeah the Joker Chaos Coaster was running yesterday. And they were getting crazy with it too. They left it hanging upside down for a good 20 seconds once. No way I'm gonna ride that thing again. Just not a fan of Larson Loopers. On another note...Operations at SFOG just suck. They were letting people in the park yesterday without making people empty their pockets, they were just waving them through. Anybody could have had a gun and they wouldn't even of cared. It was a madhouse. However, my family still had a good day. We avoided the waterpark like a plague because that's where everybody was. The rides had pretty short lines except for TC of course. The operations on that coaster need to get better. They were having an issue with the red train yesterday. Apparently they had to glue a headrest on it or something. It was down in the morning but started running around noon. We got the last ride of the night last night or next to the last ride. The last ride actually went to a couple that had the whole train to themselves and rode the back row. I would have loved to been that couple...Having a new coaster to yourself...How awesome! What's not awesome however is they had to do an emergency stop last night after the park officially closed because some asshole ran out under TC to grab his phone that he dropped. A teenager employee actually ran him down and then security came...I guess he's lucky he didn't get killed...Cause it's happened before at SFOG with Batman. Anyways, it shut the ride down for about half an hour. The park closed at 9pm but the last ride didn't happen until 10:30pm. What a dumbass!
  5. I was there for three days on Memorial Day Weekend and got the Breakers package. I thought about doing FL+ but glad I didn't...It would have been a waste of money. 3 days is more than enough time to get everything done and having the early entry helps even more. We got 2 rides on SV every morning before they opened the gates to regular folk. We even spent a day at the waterpark...Use early entry for that too and knock out the slides quick before the crowds get there and then get back to the park. If you're staying at Breakers for multiple days, I say save your money and don't do FL+. Do all the popular rides early and late and all the other less popular rides are less than 30 minutes during mid-day. Now if you were only going to spend 1 or 2 days, then I would recommend FL+.
  6. Great TR! Japan is a definitely on my bucket list...Thanks for sharing your adventures!
  7. Did you break the enter key too? In all seriousness, we had a similar situation. We left around noon on Monday after running into Ryan and the gang and everything was awesome when we left. There were people cleaning up concrete from a car crash in the parking lot that took out a concrete post but we got out of there before an (apparently different) car crash took out the power. People of Sandusky... please learn how to drive. We left around 11:30am Monday morning...Sounds like we left about the same time. I was wondering why the traffic was moving so slow getting out. I didn't see a crash but the traffic was a bitch getting out.
  8. I must have broke Cedar Point...Sorry everybody. It was running fine when I left it Monday...But right after that the power outage happened. Seriously though, I had a great three days at the Point. Glad I went Friday - Sunday cause there were no problems unlike this week. Staying at Breakers was awesome...But beware the birds. They'll squawk all night outside your window and shit on your car. The park went from 9am - 10pm everyday and had fireworks every night. With early entry, I was able to get two rides on Vengeance every morning before the park opened for regular guests. I would have closed every night with Vengeance but Sunday they closed the ride down an hour early because they had ERT for Platinum Pass Holders from 10 - 11pm. And I wouldn't have had any problem with this but I wish the park would have tweeted or said something so people would have known about it...But no biggie, finished the night with Maverick instead...Not too shabby. The park wasn't too terribly crowded. I think the longest wait for Steel Vengeance was 2 hours. The rest of the rides never had more than a 45 minute wait...And some were walk-ons. I think Steel Vengeance ran fine with one train...The ops were cranking it out and the line seemed to move fine. But if they get the other train on, then awesome! There were a few downed rides...MaXair never ran once. The water rides didn't open until Sunday. Skyhawk ran some and was down some...Same for Pipe Scream. I think the only time they ran both blue and red trains on Gemini was on Sunday. Corkscrew ran one train and there was nothing in the shed on the Mine Train. As for Cedar Point Shores, it opened Saturday, but Saturday was a horrible day for the waterpark due to the weather so we went on Sunday which was beautiful that day. And it got major crowded. But thanks to early entry for hotel guests at 10:30am, we knocked all the slides out before the crowds got there. Not sure why the lazy river isn't running, it's closed off. The rapid lazy river was pretty disgusting...That lake water is nasty. If you want shade, go to the adult pool. The wave pool has no shade unless you want to pay extra. Some of the kid areas have shade too. Not sure why the wave pool area has no shade but it needs some. Cedar Point Shores is a whole lot better since I visited it 5 years ago...But it still needs work. A proslide would be a nice addition along with a water coaster or more slides in general...Maybe another wave pool too. But all in all, the water park was okay. Lastly, the question I asked last week about Wicked Twister...Rows 1 - 6 have longer belts and larger people can fit a lot easier. I rode WT three times this trip...Felt pretty good after being turned away 2 years ago. Oh, and one more thing...I have discovered riding in the back of Magnum and Rougarou offer far smoother rides.
  9. Curious...Does Wicked Twister have a row or seat for larger guests? Going to Cedar Point this weekend. Last time I visited was 2 years ago. I took the walk of shame on that ride last time and since then have lost some weight. I would like to try it again...it seems it's the only ride at CP that has rejected me. However, I did get to ride it in 2013, but would like to ride it again.
  10. An attendance increase is very good news! More good news is SeaWorld is supposedly building a new park in China. Not sure this is legit or not...I can only find it one place on the interwebz. Could be fake news. I also read that Zhonghong is in some major debt problems...Not sure how that effects SeaWorld or not but they do own 21% of the company. http://www.themeparx.com/seaworld-china/ https://www.mingtiandi.com/real-estate/finance-real-estate/chinese-developer-defaults-on-364m-in-debt-just-one-year-after-449m-blackstone-deal/
  11. Thanks for the reply. I was there in January while it was being built. It was pretty exciting seeing it then not even complete or running. I love SFFT, but I think I'm gonna wait and see some reviews from taller people first before I make another trip down to San Antonio.
  12. I'm just looking at the timeline here. The permits to build are only good for so long. They have to start building soon. I'm guessing 90 foot attraction for 2019? 315 foot attraction for 2020? And possibly Sesame Place for 2021? And I'm assuming one of those has to be a coaster. BGW definitely has some interesting things going on.
  13. Source? http://screamscape.com/html/busch_gardens_williamsburg.htm http://parkfans.net/thread-5199.html
  14. I believe Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi/North Padre Island park and resort was just sold at an auction. They are currently looking for a buyer. Six Flags to the rescue, maybe, maybe not? This might be a good location, only 2 1/2 hour drive from SFFT.
  15. Okay, this park is going insane with future plans. Not that it's a bad thing...But I'm crazy curious what's happening at this park in the next few years. First we get leaked news that a Spain area with a 315 foot attraction may be coming. Then a survey asking about adding a third gate, a Sesame Place, to the area. Now, there is more leaked news that a 90 foot attraction may be coming to the Ireland area of the park. What comes first? Is BGW going overboard here or is all this just "fake news"?
  16. Great TR! But I'm a little concerned. You said your friend that was 6'2 was not able to ride. So, was it because of his size or his height? I'm 6'4, 250lbs...Would you say that this ride isn't made for tall people, or big people?
  17. Looks like from the picture, Shamu Express will be painted dark purple, and get a different train with different color cars...I'm guessing the Oscar Wacky Taxi theme will replace Shamu.
  18. I have a feeling Steel Vengeance might dethrone El Toro next year. I like the results. Some of these I haven't rode yet, but this poll definitely gives me a great "To Do List". Thanks!
  19. I got my trip planned for Memorial Day Weekend. Staying at Hotel Breakers so I can be as close to Steel Vengeance as possible. I can't wait to ride it! Loving all the media day coverage on twitter...It's got me all excited!
  20. I always thought that would be a great location for a new Southern Star Amphitheater since they tore the other one down. Using the axis Arena for their music festivals is just embarrasing. I say tear down the Axis Arena and build new rides there in Gotham.
  21. Most likely yes. Here at SFOT, skip the line passes can be used on any ride, even Texas Giant. Yeah, just checked and TC will be eligible for one free skip the line pass. I also just checked SFOT site too and you're right, there are no restrictions on the rides at SFOT. You can ride all you like there...I wish SFOG would get with that system.
  22. Apparently Cedar Point is charging upwards of $150 for FL+ on holiday weekend, no? The most I've seen Six Flags charge is $110 for platinum, and the system might as well be the same when you have platinum. You can reserve and be on the ride within a couple minutes if not sooner, so its essentially the same as CF's wristband/walk-right-up system. And up until this year, SF offered double rides with Platinum, whereas CF has never done that at all to my knowledge. Yeah, the double rides are gone. Plus, Cedar Fair would never say you only get one skip the line pass for a major attraction like Six Flags does. They let you ride all you want...Which is the way it should be imo. Also, I've been to a lot of Cedar Fair parks on holidays and have never paid $150. Not saying that it doesn't happen, it's just never happen to me. And I really don't have an issue with the reserve system...That's fine. My problem is when they only give you one skip the line time. In SFOG's case...They have three rides they do this with. But I am glad to see they are including all the rides on the regular pass now and not forcing you to buy the platinum. That's a plus!
  23. Glad to see a big dude on the coaster...That's promising for me!
  24. I absolutely hate Six Flags flash pass system. When TC opens, you'll only be able to purchase platinum flash pass and only be able to skip the line once. This has been pretty consistent with every major new ride opened at a Six Flags park. It's just not worth it. If you spend over $100 for a skip the line option, you should at least be able to do it more than once. I just wish every park could follow Cedar Fair's model...It's so simple and easy...And value!
  25. Maybe BGT has been waiting in the queue line waiting their turn for RMC. RMC is a popular ride, with a 3 - 4 year line wait time. Unfortunately, there was no quick queue option. But something tells me, this ride is going to be worth the wait.
