Clearance Envelopes

Safety is overrated. Our guests can casually walk between the supports of a Bluefire clone and we put red nylon fences that are barely taller than a puppy around areas where the train might actually hit you. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -
Djurs Sommerland Discussion Thread
gerstlaueringvar replied to Nosferatu's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Djrus Sommerland probably has the best coaster lineup in the whole world compared to the park its size. Look forward to seeing how Intamin's family invert performs. -
It's a lot more simple and a lot faster than the B&M system. The amount of moving parts on the first video is less than a B&M floorless coaster. And for the second video, the seats can be rotated while the train is going (4D coaster style) so that shortened the overall unload/load time compared to the regular Flying Futchmen and B&M flyers. Although I remember a few years ago Vekoma did proposed a solution that the seats tilt back as it approaches the incline of the lift.

Michigan's Adventure's new coaster. -
Since both HK and Shanghai have extra space for another park or two on property, opening a midway mania at the other park would be a better choice because the existing rides are enough to sell toy story merchandise and a midway mania clone at the other park can sell toy story merchandise as well so that means more money for Disney.

If it's fun, reliable, cheap and the GP likes it, then credit or not it is a success. -
IAAPA 2016 Live Updates!

I don't know. To me, Zamperla (in terms of coasters, not flat rides (their flats are epic)) is the dictionary definition of a good concept but poorly executed. Their large scale coasters could have been great alternatives to the more expensive B&M/Intamin/Vekoma coasters. Instead, they're just alternatives. Bad alternatives, mostly. Not sure about Thunderbolt, but Wild West Mine Train at Ocean Park is one of the best family coasters out there. Everything worked so well except for insufficient legroom and that was back in 1999. It feels more like hit or miss to me. -

Disney retracking Matterhorn and WDW Space Mountain with RMC Raptor track. -
Yeah, indeed. Just hope they get treated properly. So even though manufactureres like B&M, GCI, Intamin etc; have certain specifications for maintenance, the parks in China still let them go to s**t?? Not shit. But generally parks are cutting costs as much as possible on maintenance because 70 percent of the amusement parks are losing money in China, 20 percent are barely surviving and the rest are making profit. It honestly depends on the chain, Chimelong is very good at maintenance but they run their rides much more frequently than say Happy Valley. Happy Valley parks would cut costs as much as they possibly can. (Wheels on Shanghai's Mega-Lite are made in China)

Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread
gerstlaueringvar replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I made this with Nolimits2. IT IS NOT THE OFFICIAL DESIGN Dondonpa Bakuhatsu will be the tallest roller coaster in Asia, fastest roller coaster in Japan, and the launch would remains as the fastest acceleration in the world. In order to achieve this new layout, the giant splash would be removed and the new 107m (351ft) tower would be directly facing Mt. Fuji. Riders can enjoy the breath taking view before taking the 340ft tall vertical drop. The layout including a high speed turn, 351ft tall top hat, an off-axis Stengel Dive, the original giant turn, a "Mt. Fuji Arch" zero G stall, Outward banked turn that wraps around the Ferris Wheel, an overbanked turn and a heart line roll. -
I think this is sort of like people using their phones around you in public places. The area around them certainly isn't their properties, but does it mean it's right to look into their screens? Or if they have expressed that they do not want you to look into their screens verbally or physically, would you still look into their screens? I would definitely respect Vekoma's request and stop taking photos and videos. Taking photos and videos won't let you ride it sooner and analyzing how the system works doesn't make you a super expert or give you an engineering degree. These prototype products have their marketing values so when the marketing experts at parks decide it is the best time to drop the commercials, more visitors will go to their parks. Which means more money for the parks, then more business for manufactures like Vekoma, then manufacturers will have more money for innovations like whatever Vekoma has in the test field. Patience.
