  1. I was there a few weekends ago at the McDonalds next door. It still has wood over some of the windows. It was late so I didn't see it really good but it looks like work is graduatly being done on it.
  2. Pretty big weekend for the Ohio Trio. Geauga Lake opens, Firehawk opens and now Maverick is opening.
  3. I go to Charles F Brush High School or simply Brush High.
  4. I'm going to disagree with you. You shouldn't have to accept any risk when riding a coaster.
  5. I feel you get more for your money at Holiday World with the waterpark included. Also, I hear they have really great food.
  6. The only thing believable about that Artical is the accidents on Rattler. Everything else is bull. They always want to attack amusement parks and take the small accident and make it out to be the "worst case senerio". I can proudly say that my WIldwood Park in RCT2 only had 4 accidents and that was when the Wildmous Valleyed and was rear ended resulting in a minor explosion.
  7. Even if the park did reopen, it would be hard to get people back into it. It's closed down so many times in the last few years.
  8. What other historical parks are close? Besides Kennywood. Geauga Lake and Waldameer(though it isn't that historic). Hopefully the Blue Streak can be saved and rebuilt in a smaller park...Mabey Kennywood could buy it for their new expansion in a couple years.
  9. Im with you! I'm using Cable internet and some of these Photo TR's freeze my browser for up to 5 mins. Hate to see what its like for Dialup.
  10. Is Magic Springs as powerfull as Kennywoods? When I rode Areo 360, it took one half swing before we were upside down.
  11. For the first rule, i'm guesing that since Mavvie dosen't use Anti Rollbacks and EVERYONE is used to stopping on the lift hill incase of an outage, they put that there because Maverick will slowely move down the hill and some riders might think they are plunging back into the station.
  12. Anyone else notice that most parks in the 70's looked really clean, had awesome landscaping and looked downright awesome compared to what they looked like today? ONes that stick out to me are the Marriot Parks. I was looking at pictures of them and they looked so nice compared to what they look like now.
  13. That would be one of the worst rides to get stuck on during a fire because when it's in high gear, you have to sit and WAIT for the arm to lower and for it to slow down.
  14. This ride proves that SLC's are just as popular as B&M Inverts. It's just Enthuestiests that start the negativity.
  15. The season used to begin Early May and end in Late October but CF deciced to cut the season short and elimiante the Haunt competetion.
  16. Coasterdad and Gunkey Monkey were able to take a pre season tour of Geauga Lake before it officially opens this next Saturday. http://www.geaugalaketoday.com/GL_Tour_2007.htm
  17. I mentioned that about Thunderhawk at GL in the thread earlier. It's turning 10 next year and it's still smooth as it was when it first opened. If the park takes good care of them, they will operate smooth...but if the park treats it like crap...then it turns into a Six Flags SLC.
  18. Was it ever mentioned as a family ride? A 70mph coaster with 2 inversions and a launch out of a tunnel dosen't sound very "family" to me.
  19. Anyone else think small privatly owned waterparks are beginging to be a thing of the past? With the major amusement parks having their waterparks included in the price of admission, it seems like the smaller ones can't compete. I saw it happen with Dover Lake when Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom was built...i suspect Pioneer Waterland to be the next. Ozzie Waterpark announced that it will close forever: http://www.dailyherald.com/news/cookstory.asp?id=313609&cc=c&tc=&t=. So do you think we'll see any other small waterparks close in the near future? The same thing happened to Amusement parks back in the 60's-70's.
  20. Wouldn't the blame be on Stengel? I mean he did design it and i'm pretty sure he would be responsible for faults in the design. Intrude just provides the track and builds it right? Also, I don't see why CAP would ever spend money on removing the hardline and adding an SA-Curve then remove the SA Curve and add another inversion. There's really no point to it. Once the SA curve is there, i'm %100 sure that it will stay there and that will be the last major modification to the ride. To me, it seems like blaming the car dealership for a flaw in the car itself.
  21. If only it was like RCT...you would of ridden it by now and no one would be complaining.
  22. I love how people here think their opinions surpass anyone elses opinions in the world. Honestly, shut the hell up. What you think is the BEST, is not the best to another person. If I said that Mustangs are the best cars out there, would you think the same thing? This is a good investment for BPB. SLC's are awsome rides if they are taken care of. Look at Thunderhawk at GL...probablky one of the smoothest rides in the park and the GP flock to it.
  23. That's what they said about the Titanic. The Titanic didn't use Magnetic Breaks/Launch though... That's not the point. Whats the point? You can't compare a 80+ year old ship to a modern coaster.
  24. Good thing I didn't meet him, i'd have a few words to say to him about the running of Geauga Lake.
