  1. We always seem to take Delta flights. Never had an issue with them, except for when we got stuck in Atlanta for 13 hours, but that wasn't necessarily their fault.
  2. There needs to be a divider of some sort between Harry Potter and Simpsons. It looks terrible right now. The interiors of the restaurants look really nice though. They seem to be better themed than the ones in Orlando, especially Krusty Burger and Cletus's Chicken Shack.
  3. It shouldn't be expected that coaster clubs are invited to every media day. They're called MEDIA days for a reason. Your comment just backs up the stereotype of "whiny entitled enthusiast" that parks have of us. Coaster clubs being invited to media days is a privilege, not a right.
  4. That element looks like it should be lots of fun. Hopefully it provides plenty of hang time!
  5. Cedar Fair parks definitely spare no expense with their special events. Looks like it was a fun day!
  6. I'm sure they will get at least 2 in that time frame.
  7. Why do news articles feel the need to report on this crap? Incidents, if you can even call them that, like this happen all the time. Not to mention, maintenance workers use those staircases daily to inspect the track, it isn't like they are unsafe. And also, how does sitting still in a train make "everything start spinning"? Sounds like somebody is either A) a giant drama queen or B) an easily frightened person who shouldn't have even gotten on the ride in the first place.
  8. Love the first rider shirts, I wish every park did something like that. As for the ride itself, whether you love it or are just "meh" about it, you can't deny how impressive it looks flying over the new entrance. It's very similar to GateKeeper in that way.
  9. Another person taking a myopic view. Even if the ride is not for you it balances out the park and will be a crowd pleaser for many. People waiting for and riding Iron Reef will be the people that will not be waiting for the same roller coasters as you at the same time. I was mostly speaking for myself. I'm sure it will be a hit with the GP, like Guardian was, it just doesn't seem to be my cup of tea. I understand others will most likely feel differently. Bu like Chuck mentioned, Midway Mania has pretty much only screens, and I do love that ride, so it could be the same for me with Iron Reef. The chances of me getting to Cali in the next couple of years is pretty slim anyways, so it really doesn't matter.
  10. That flat ride looked insane! Wonder how many people get motion sickness from it each day...
  11. The Banshee video where it is dark outside and the light from the camera makes him pretty much blind always makes me chuckle. Especially when he thinks they're going into a loop and then realizes it's an Immelman.
  12. Agreed. The park should look really nice this year with all of the fresh paint and renovations. Their hard work during the off-season is always noticeable.
  13. Exactly. Every since SF went bankrupt, they've been very smart with their money. I mean, they may not be adding giant B&M hypers or gigas, but who really cares? The RMC coasters they've been adding more than make up for the lack of gigantic investments. Anyways, back to Twisted Colossus... This ride is shaping up to be incredible. I wonder if they'll do anything with the queue to match the steampunk theme?
  14. I see this being cloned all around the chain, similarly to the original Batman: The Ride. It's relatively cheap (I'd assume), is very compact, and looks like a family friendly ride. Also, they are extremely unique from the look of them.
  15. No Six Flags park has gotten a ride over $20 million in a while. I'm guessing the last one was Kingda Ka (I may be wrong about that). The chain wants to add a new ride to each park every year, which means they can't spend a lot on a single ride. Edit: But yes, a Dive Coaster would fit in perfectly at the park.
  16. The only thing that interests me about Iron Reef is the storyline. I mean, I'm not trying to be overly negative, but Guardian didn't get exactly rave reviews, and Iron Reef is not even going to have what is considered one of the highlights of Guardian: the drop track. Hoping this ride will blow away all expectations, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.
  17. Six Flags is too cheap to spend money on a giga. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I'd take a ride like TC over Fury 325 anyday (not that there's anything wrong with Fury). SFMM doesn't need a 20th coaster right away, but the strategy of adding coaster after coaster seems to be working well for the park. Then again, corporate may choose to focus on other parks for a few years and give SFMM some more flats.
  18. BGW is definitely on my list of parks I need to visit. I love the 40th anniversary signs, I wish my local park (SFSTL) would've done the same for their anniversary.
  19. Opening weekend is almost always a very busy weekend. The biggest problem will be trying to get into the parking lot. Lines getting in will be long. You should be able to ride everything though. Longest and slowest moving lines will be Pandemonium and Boomerang. American Thunder, Batman, and Mine Train should be short. Others will have moderate waits, like Mr. Freeze. However, if there are rain showers Friday it may scare away guests, which could mean walk ons at various rides.
  20. How do you not have a job in the industry yet? Your ideas are far more interesting than any new concepts coming out of actual ride manufacturers.
  21. I have tallied up the majority of my U.S. park maps. Here is the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z4Axz7TtCgWiDB61LwfwHy4b2-IsKzj2p98rxpkHYXI/edit?usp=sharing I'm willing to trade 38 of them, which are the ones bolded on the left side. The rest are just on there so I can keep track of the number I have. If anybody wants to trade, PM me. I'll ship domestically (in America).
  22. ^^That improv character thing would be really cool to see at the park. SDC's employees are always very in character, so if it's anything like that it should be fun. The addition of GamesURide would be awesome as well. The StrikeUUp game looks like it would be a nice replacement for Super Slam back by the Justice League gift shop. The playground would be cool, but that means losing another theater. Does that mean the hypnotist guy is out? Are these just concepts or actual things that are going to happen this season? If so, this season could be the best one in a long time.
  23. Anybody know where the new restaurant "Kickin' Chicken" is going to be in the park? It's listed on the 2015 dining pass guide.
  24. I'm glad they stuck with a darker color. The majority of KK's rides are extremely bright colors. They didn't need another one. Plus, from the looks of it the "gondola" (is that the word?) is going to be orange, which should really pop against the grey tower.
