  1. That'll be an interesting 3Q earnings call, explaining why everybody postponed their vacations to August.
  2. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slides
  3. How about Beast of Steel? Its layout would be exactly the same as Beast, but made of steel. Also there would be six barrel rolls in the shed.
  4. The road is still a bottleneck, TBS, but it is now 4 lanes all the way from Indian Point Rd. to 465, amd that has helped a lot. Widening 76 further to say having 2 left turn lanes onto Indian Point would be very expensive, since they'd have to deal with that bluff to the north. They can't widen to the south because of the cemetery. I mean, it's possible to move a cemetery, but "SDC dug up Grandma" isn't exactly the PR they want. I always wondered why they didn't purchase some land farther south on Indian Point. There must have been a good reason. I imagine the original aim when they and Shepherd of the Hills were buying up as much as they could in the 60s was to get some of that. The lakeshore really would have been ideal for resort hotels, but since it's all built up, they'd have to fork over some serious cash to buy an existing resort now.
  5. So many plotlines packed into one episode! I don't get why they would be announcing tornado shelters when there clearly isn't a tornado. Those are no joke. I mean, 50mph winds can sink duck boats, so an actual tornado...CP wouldn't be reopening for a while. It's important to give clear instructions; sounds like they dropped the ball on that one. The rest of the day looks great! Midwest thunderstorms are often fierce and short like that, so having a good plan can go a long way. And yeah, Gatekeeper, Valravn, and Millennium Force are all fun. That's the entire point of the hobby. Keep doing it right.
  6. Cool little report. Bummer that Coaster was down. Looks like Playland was still fun but not the same without it. Rest of the city looked really cool though.
  7. Oh wow, that shake is ridiculous. Sucks that they stopped the free Reese's on Cup Challenge. They were giving them out when I was there a year ago. (Has it been a whole year already?)
  8. You missed the point. The question was whether SDC had a good enough relationship with Mack to get a second ride from them. My answer was that Time Traveler is the second ride.
  9. Um...River Blast (2010) and Time Traveler (2018). I'd say the company is open to the idea of buying two major rides from Mack within a decade of each other.
  10. Yes, in a zipped pocket, no problem. The only coaster in all three of these parks that even has a policy is Skyrush, and HP provides free lockers before you get in line and cubbies at the station. But if it's zipped they won't say a thing.
  11. I went last year about this same time and all 3 parks had pretty good attendance. With Hershey, if you plan it right you can get to all the good stuff on preview night easily, then the next day re-rides and maybe branch out a little and try stuff. Go into Great Bear with low expectations for intensity. She's just not that kind of bear. Let her tell you what she's into, and she'll show you a good time. Knoebel's will be busy even on a weekday, but their operations are incredible and the wait will be shorter than you think it should be for that line length. Phoenix is for real. Knoebel's, as it's been said, it a park to relax in, not a park to be thrilled by. The more you conform to its pace, the more fun you'll have. Dorney will probably be super busy as well. You may experience--are you sitting down?--FIVE. MINUTE. WAITS. I know, it's horrible. But you're going in peak season, you should expect this.
  12. Oh come on, this is spinnable. "Roller coaster wheel flies off mid-ride, endangers 24 passengers. Are your kids safe?"
  13. How dare you actually experience the place you went to? Don't you know that's time you could have spent at theme parks? You're bad enthusiasts. Seriously though, looks awesome. Muir Woods is a bucket list place for me, and I'm glad you really enjoyed it.
  14. To be fair, all three are really good, but yeah, El Toro is just the best.
  15. Probably these guys. OMG, that is awesome.
  16. Cool & Fresh - Has interlocking inversions - Owned by Busch Gardens - Not built by Arrow
  17. hmm. . rode it last Tuesday (so just under a week ago), and no chocolate (or Reese's) at the end. but we did get chocolate from the dark ride at Chocolate World.
  18. That's all very fair. Boss is the best it's been since opening year, but yeah having multiple rides down for a majority of the summer season is not ideal. Understandable for the reasons you've outlined, but definitely not ideal. Still hoping to go on the new slide; the last time we went was the weekend before it opened, so we're hoping to get up there and experience this before summer ends.
  19. Sounds right to me. Usually the next year's season passes go on sale at the same time as next year's announcement, with promos to match. In years past, they've done free upgrades to Gold, which includes parking.
  20. Yes. Also, Scream has a jump where the loop used to be:
  21. Hoping to get to Six Flags St. Louis one last time before the end of the summer, probably next weekend.
