  1. Steel Vengeance is not a wood coaster. I mean, it's in the name. FFS.
  2. Yuuuuuup. This is what we're known for now. The first thing that pops into people's heads when they think of St. Louis isn't the art museum. It's Ferguson. Now, we know that isn't fair, but we're not making the decision on whether to vacation in St. Louis. The people who can make such a decision...choose to go somewhere else. It's ok, no one goes to Cleveland or Detroit either. St. Louis is a good city, and not especially dangerous overall, but no matter how much you tell people that, they still say, "Eh, I'd rather go to Chicago, or Branson, or Pigeon Forge." And they can do that, it's their time and money. Always a bunch of whining in this thread when we don't get anything fancy, while Branson and Holiday World build cooler stuff. It's all about where people want to be and where they're willing to spend money.
  3. This looks awesome! And the video has all the puns I would expect from Holiday World. Polar Expresso...that's great.
  4. ^ It's not ridiculous man. People don't vacation in St. Louis. It's just not a thing. Yes, we have a lot to offer, and a lot of it is free too. IMO only the Smithsonian offers more for free than Forest Park does. But people aren't coming, and listing attractions just doesn't counter that argument.
  5. Sweet! Yeah, all the food is great at SDC, and pretty cheap too. Most things are under $10, and they definitely give you a lot. If you only do one mountain coaster, do the Runaway on 165. It's one single long lift, and it gets going really fast at the end. Branson Coaster on 76 is fun too, but it has two shorter lifts, so the top speed is lower even if you hold it down all the way. Both coasters do a good job of spacing so that a slow person in front of you isn't so much of a concern, but of course it's always possible.
  6. I went to the site after seeing that price for San Antonio and it was offered to me. It's on sale 30% off the normal price of $189.
  7. Fiesta Texas is a great park, love how they use the quarry to their advantage. Funny how the parks Six Flags buys seem to have better theming than the ones they built themselves.... That shirt is hilarious.
  8. Sounds good to me. Rockford isn't very far from Great America, so for residents there getting both parks for one price is probably appealing. Win for Rockford Parks District, win for Six Flags.
  9. My favourite track support is always the one that is currently keeping me from plummeting to the earth at lethal speeds.
  10. IIRC, wasn't Eric's old office somewhere in that area? I think I remember him mentioning that on the podcast.
  11. So isn't this the second time in a row they've copied a ride that's already at Discovery Kingdom? Who knew Six Flags would become the innovator in the market that Sea World basically created.... Looks fun though, looking forward to trying this out.
  12. Sounds like a fun day! As for Cyborg, this was pretty much my reaction when they announced it: From what you and others have said, seems like that was pretty much accurate. Can't go wrong with bullriding, though.
  13. Been enjoying some chiptunes today. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  14. Aw man, I loved Over the Top. It was so great thinking it might be open, going over to it and finding it's closed, being disappointed that I couldn't ride it, wondering if it would ever open. Ah, good times.
  15. Definitely go for 2 days. There's so much more here than just roller coasters, don't try to jam it all into a small amount of time if you can help it. SDC closes early this time of year, usually 7 on Saturdays and 6 on Sundays. Bigfoot on the Strip, The Track, and the two alpine coasters are open later, so head into Branson once the park closes to continue the fun. Take the cave tour. Eat cinnamon bread.
  16. Oh yeah, that wasn't just a Halloween thing either. That was the full time ending. Really freaked me out as a kid. It was replaced with the current "Hurry before the guards wake up" escape scene. Honestly it was a better story when everyone died.
  17. That Star Wars shirt is great. Millennium Force has more protein in the front, but the back is better.
  18. Awesome, thanks for sharing that. Hersheypark Place was good, but it was a bit of a pain to go out and then have to go back through security and all. Would be nice not to have to do that. Although over here it'd probably have to be more than just a fence since Americans are awful and would probably try to slip contraband items across. Oh wow. We're already playing the name game... ffck my life If it were up to me, I'd name it "This Ride Is Much Better Than Skyrush" so I can ride Skyrush more. But that's just me.
  19. He's great. Love the new steampunk costume for this year too. Thanks for sharing the article!
  20. Great video! Infinity Falls has a couple of things that make it different from your run of the mill local rapids ride. Looks like a lot of fun, and I'm sure people will appreciate a new way to cool off in Orlando.
  21. Haha, yeah totally. This is just a bigger version of what's already there. It'll probably be more efficient, which means you can get to early entry on Skyrush faster. Yay.
  22. There's no Starbucks currently. There's a Dunkin'. Ok cool. I remembered getting a coffee before entering the park.
  23. Getting caught up on this report now. Kentucky Kingdom is looking good, and I enjoyed the Columbus Zoo report too. Been meaning to get over there one of these days.
  24. Great report! Love Kentucky Kingdom, and you seem to have done everything! Get it right, man. It's Dick Rock Falls. Oh come on now, you're not even trying.
