  1. I'm very impressed with Toverland in everyone's reports. You've really made a great case for why it's so special.
  2. That's really looking good. Glad to hear it's far enough along for an event like that.
  3. ^ Haha, yeah the planning definitely started with "What can we do with Union Station?" and not "Where should we put a Ferris wheel?" This should have excellent views of a double stacked freeway and a giant rail yard. Ooh, and for the next couple of years, a huge construction zone as MoDOT rebuilds all of the I-64 exits around there for better access to the new NGA campus. https://www.modot.org/i-64-jefferson-interchange
  4. Agreed, and glad you got to try some. Since you say you want to come back, next time you're here, go to the Hill. It's our Italian neighbourhood, and there are some awesome restaurants there.
  5. I think for a lot of us in the Midwest, Millennium Force is the only giga we've ever been on. If Orion is even almost as good as MF, I'll probably like Orion more just because it's in a better park.
  6. I find it funny that both SFSTL and WOF both have A GCI, A Spinning coaster, a Boomerang and and a B&M invert in a somewhat competing market Worlds of Fun and Six Flags St. Louis do seem strikingly similar in terms of “class.” I haven’t been to either park, so I won’t comment on the quality of experience at either, but speaking strictly in terms of ride lineup and their rank in their respective chains, they share many similarities. Six Flags St. Louis has superior rides, but Worlds of Fun is much better on atmosphere, food quality, etc. Oceans of Fun is a much better waterpark than Hurricane Harbor. Both parks basically just attract from their local metro area, though plenty of Missourians have been to both.
  7. Oh man, Neurogen sounds like something I would absolutely love.
  8. Nice! Very exciting seeing them prepare for Holiday in the Park.
  9. They actually do a very good job of maintaining all their wooden coasters. Early in the season Boss and Screamin' Eagle are both very good. After about Memorial Day I wouldn't go on Boss, and Screamin' Eagle is better but still, Bert's advice is good. I like the front row best, not just for the view, but it's also the smoothest. American Thunder though? That one holds up all season. Maybe just because it's the smallest and beats itself up the least.
  10. When we were there this summer, we noticed a HUGE area under construction across from the new Turtle Reef. This ride is going to be massive.
  11. The new coaster looks awesome! We love Sea World's shows and made a point to see all of them when we visited this summer (San Antonio park). They're so well done and really feature the animals as the stars of the show. My girls are already asking when we can go back...and it will be to the Orlando park. Sea World is fun, y'all. Get yourselves to Sea World.
  12. People, if you are inclined to get worked up, then before you get all worked up, take a minute to remember: This is what matters. This is why we go to theme parks. Theme parks are fun.
  13. Phoenix is classy. It only gets the best wood.
  14. Glad you had a good time at the "original" Busch Gardens! It's also the only one still owned by AB, so all that beer on tap is AB products. Around here Budweiser is the local brewery, and they do make a few acceptable products, including that Shock Top. And lol at those rabbits...You came here to see animals, this is what animals do!
  15. Don't bother with the regular Flash Pass. Gold should be fine. What you do is that as soon as the employee checks you into the ride, go and reserve another one. You'll probably have about a 10 minute wait from the check in point, so that time is spent "waiting" for your next ride. A lot of times a 30-40 minute real world wait will be zero by using this system, because of the time spent queueing in the station and walking to the next ride.
  16. You're seriously asking why Cedar Point acquiring land in a run down rust belt town is easier than Carowinds acquiring land in two different states in one of the fastest growing metro areas in the US?
  17. Obviously. If someone who works for Six Flags could have done it, they'd be King of All England by now.
  18. The Golden Tickets are what they are, but hardly anyone knows that. SDC got a lot of traction out of Outlaw Run winning a Golden Ticket. They'll advertise this similarly. Should be good for them. Golden Tickets aside, that show is great. Highly recommend anyone coming next summer to take time for it.
  19. Oh wow, and that petition. "The idea of it being a wet park only is astonishing." WET PARK? Like, this person actually believes that somewhere a real person who exists has said, "Kids, get in the van. We're going to the wet park!"
