The NL will have a DH eventually. It keeps popular players in he game longer, and people will pay to see them. And then I'll find something else to razz the Royals fans about. -

There are many things wrong with that Super 8, though. Super 8s are franchised, so they can vary widely from one to another. I've stayed in some that are great and some that are awful. I wouldn't recommend the one near Kings Island at all. -

No, I'm not complaining. That's dumb. My team is in the National League, so I am definitely going to talk sh*t about the other league. And let's face it, the DH is literally the only difference between them. Agreed on Big Papi. He played with enthusiasm and energy like I've rarely seen. A better career could not have happened to a better person. But hey, at least the Red Sox made the playoffs his last year. -
El Toro, because I haven't been on it yet (actively making plans to remedy that). Halogens or alkaline earth metals?

I still don't care about the American League as long as they refuse to play real baseball, but I think a Nats/Jays series would be really cool. It would be a sort of reprise of the all-Canadian World Series we almost had in '94. I still think the Cubs are unstoppable, but as a Cardinals fan, I would love to see them ousted from the playoffs. -
Good idea. It's best to keep Haunted houses sensitive to people's feelings. Make sure you avoid putting things in them that people might not like because they might find them scary.

To add to this, the cut off would be pushed to at least the log flume exit, as that is where First Aid is. Yes it is, good catch! There's still plenty of path, but there are only 3 attractions along it: Moon cars, American Thunder, and Log Flume. The flume obviously won't run during the Christmas festival, as it's already closed for the year. Moon cars requires a lot of staff and isn't really a draw these days. So it comes down to a question of having that entire section open just for one ride, and I really doubt they would. There are going to be plenty of people who feel it's too cold to ride a roller coaster at all, and it would require quite a bit of staff. Remember, it's not just ride ops but also security, janitors, maybe games or food staff to try to monetize the traffic back there. Plus AT is a mandatory fluffy bunny ride, so you'd need that staff as well. It's totally possible for them to run AT in the cold, but for the first year they're going to want to limit expenses. SF is nothing if not cheap.

OCT Thrust SSC1000, on the name alone. Sushi or potstickers?

^ & ^^ Kanye is very good, and he absolutely knows how to put on a show. I saw him back in 2005, when he was the old Kanye, straight from the 'go Kanye. It's still one of the best concerts I've been to. -

Glad you had a good time despite the injury. Beer makes everything better. And hey, it could be worse: could be Minnesota's alcohol policy. You cannot buy more than one drink at a time, so my wife had to go up to the bar and buy her own. And when presenting the ID, the bartender would then quiz each of us about our ID: "What's your date of birth? What's your address?" Etc. We had to answer the questions to prove it was ours. This happened at both Valleyfair and Mall of America, so it must be a state thing and not just the individual businesses. Weirdest policy I've ever encountered. -
Agreed there. The whole Studio Backlot section should be open, since Batman, Ninja, and Joker are all very reliable. Mine Train and Pandemonium are very likely too because of the low height restrictions and proximity to Bugs Bunny National Park. Having those areas open also gives them Joker, Shazam, Colossus, Xcalibur, and the carousel for flats. Maybe Highland Fling if it's working. Most of the park's flats are beyond the tracks, so they'll want to be sure there are at least a few going. So potentially 5 coasters, 6 flats, a dark ride, and the train, plus all of BBNP south of the tracks. Sounds good to me.

I would concur for the most part, though I'd say they'll cut off the path farther west than JB's, so they can run Shazam and for access to the restrooms across from it (those are the only restrooms in that general area). Also, intending to open Mr. Freeze and actually opening it are worlds apart. It ironically doesn't do well in cold weather.

Six Flags Food

The Bill Clinton seal of approval! Yeah, they're a big chain based out of Iowa. They first started putting stores in the Ozarks about 10 years ago, and it caused quite a stir in this rather religious area. There were a few weak boycotts that soon went limp. To their credit, they rocked the name. If you're going to do it, do it all the way to completion, right? -
Formula Rossa, because that would mean that I'm in Dubai! While we're on the subject, Dubai or Abu Dhabi?
-
I've seen La Boheme, but never really made that connection. How cool!
-
Cool! I didn't think I was on to it. Okay, so this is a wooden coaster that was relocated from one state to another.

Basically any Six Flags.

^ I have to agree here. Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Cats, and Phantom were all disappointments. Too much hype, not enough substance. I liked Rent, though. Maybe it's that I don't really know a lot of people affected by the AIDS epidemic, but I have a number of gay friends, and I have a huge amount of respect for those who were fighting the good fight and paved the way for us now to say that love is love. Rent really opened my eyes to understand at least a little of what was going on in the LGBT community, and for that, it's a very important show. I really hate for any show to re-open wounds, but if it helps me and other straight allies to understand a little of what was happening, then that really helps move us all forward.

That's good to know; thank you! Now this is interesting. What's the right way to ride Impulse to get the best experience? I will be visiting soon, so I'm interested to know. Impulse is fine but it's smoother if you don't keep your head against the headrest (then again that goes for just about every coaster with a headrest). It's not exactly rough but it's not exactly smooth either (if that makes sense). I like Impulse, we rode it a lot this weekend and that barrel roll is awesomeness but it's the weakest coaster in the park by a mile. That definitely does make sense. Very much looking forward to a park where this is their weakest coaster! -

Cool! I didn't know Penciction had any rides. I work in the travel industry, so I know a bit about that area, as it's a rather popular destination. Maybe we can get Larson or someone to revive the Rock-o-Plane? They're really great.
