  1. Powder Keg at sunset during Old Time Christmas.
  2. Okay, dude. After years of having a season pass, this was their one opportunity for customer service. This right here. Your mind was just a blank slate through everything else they have done, and just as you're getting ready to finally form an opinion about that place you've been going for years, they messed up at that crucial time. I get it; that makes perfect sense.
  3. Like the photo with Pokemon Go. You get any Farfetch'd while you were there?
  4. At SDC, if we're there at opening, and it opens on time, Powder Keg; otherwise Outlaw Run. If we arrive later in the day, it's Thunderation.
  5. Companies often will invoke flex policies during natural disasters. I work in the travel industry, so this is an area I know pretty well. If your stay/ticket/event falls within a certain date range when a natural disaster occurred, you get your money back, no questions asked. It's really common and is not at all indicative of the type of service you would get if you had booked different dates. Literally the only thing that the two experiences you've cited have in common is that they both happened to you.
  6. Yeah, dude, you're comparing LR not running to a hurricane. And yes, Disney did basically have to refund you. Whether it's their policy or not, if they sold you a ticket for a day that they weren't open, you would have the ability to dispute the credit card charge. And whether they win or lose, chargebacks hurt any company, so they'll definitely try to avoid it. Conversely, no company is obligated to do anything for someone who's butthurt that they didn't get to do everything they wanted. Sent from my understanding of the way business works via a mic drop.
  7. No, but if you go and it's closed more than an hour and a half of your day, you can get a free ticket to return any time that season (or during the Christmas festival, the ticket is good for that season or the next). Dollywood has possibly the best customer service not just in this industry but in any industry.
  8. That is very good. It's also a very high capacity ride. Being SDC's first major roller coaster, it was designed to carry the park's roller coaster demand single handedly, and did so for 6 years. If it's dispatched quickly enough, it could do well over a million--and they've had an all-star crew on it this year.
  9. BBQ wings. I love BBQ, and being equidistant from Kansas City, St. Louis, and Memphis gives us a lot of variety here. NASA or NOAA?
  10. 5/10 There is much, much better. Outback Roadhouse (the Australian restaurant in Branson, no relation to the chain)?
  11. Decently realistic. I think the waterpark is their biggest need, but that'll depend on if and when the Army Corps of Engineers approves their plan. I think they'll start on that right away once they have approval. 2020 may be a bit far in the future, but maybe not. A Hyper GTX would be awesome for this park. I know a lot of its locals are itching for a modern looper, but I still say you've got a great one in Sponge Bob already. I just think there's a few priorities before Valleyfair gets to that, which is what is refreshing about this plan. Good job!
  12. ABC, they have Marvel's Agents of Shield! ^^And that looks awesome. On the other end of culinary meats, Chicken fried steak or Salisbury steak?
  13. Back ache. At least that's just muscle pain. Intestinal pain is the worst. Grover Cleveland as President #22 or Grover Cleveland as President #24?
  14. He ran Geauga Lake? The Onion doesn't miss a thing.
  15. That might as well be my mantra. Thanks for the advice. There will be plenty of time for more Rehoboth/Jersey Shore talk between now and summer. Now how to get this back on track? Er.... How about this article from earlier this year? www.theonion.com/article/disney-world-opens-new-ordeal-kingdom-family-meltd-52230
  16. Sweet! They're open almost as long as SDC next year. Good for them.
  17. It normally opens for weekends only at the beginning of April. It's possible that Sat 4/1 could be the opening date, but if I were betting, I'd say Sat 4/8 would be more likely.
  18. 12/10, one for each lock. A man, a plan.
  19. ^ Absolutely! I'm eyeing late August, right at the tail end of daily operations for everything. Time is a major factor on this; just too many things to do and all sort of but not exactly close. I think once everyone has their 2017 calendars on their websites, I'm going to have to start a "Help Me Plan a Trip to Knoebels" thread just to figure out the logistics.
  20. No, Bill, you're wrong, and you're a terrible person for saying this! Better? Really, I agree. I rode it, and enjoyed it, but I went in with really low expectations. I wanted to ride it just because of the unique ride system. I had never seen a suspended dark ride before, and I don't know of any others. Without the suspended ride system, I would have skipped it entirely, like I did Winnie the Pooh. It was cool for the experience, but I have no reason to ever want to do that again unless there's a big overhaul. I can see that. I grew up visiting Rehoboth Beach and they have a Haunted Mansion with a suspended ride system that they built mostly in house so that ride system isn't much of a novelty for me since I've ridden that thing countless times. Somehow, despite the fact that it was built on a small, seaside park budget I think that ride is infinitely more enjoyable than Peter Pan's Flight. See, now you're making me want to go to Rehoboth Beach. I've been agonizing over how to fit it into my Knoebels plans. It's so close (Moreys Piers is already on the itinerary), and yet it's on the opposite side of the bay from everything else.
