  1. Yes, several coasters at SDC on 12/27. Do you own a pair of roller skates?
  2. Honestly, I would not be opposed to that I would be all for that if it took the place of T3.
  3. No. But I am going to Dollywood! Do you own a PlayStation?
  4. Exploding Kittens
  5. When dreaming, I'm guided to another world time and time again
  6. No, these very low clouds were in my way. Do you make lists of all the lists you are making?
  7. Seriously? You think? It's a Back to the Future joke, PhantomPoster... Lighten up PhantomPoster be like...
  8. It's absolutely a terrain-based layout. That much is clear from looking at the land they've excavated.
  9. Slow day at work. But you bring up a good point, that a patent doesn't necessarily end up being the final name of the ride. We were talking about Shot Rod this time last year. With about 14 months to go until this opens, there's plenty of time for theming changes. Likely only the ride itself is set in stone (since that involved expensive terraforming).
  10. The theme isn't Rome per se. It's a hick trying to get rich quick by selling trips to ancient Rome. Snake oil salesmen were everywhere at that time, and people were willing to buy it because science was accelerating at a rate faster than people could understand. It was a time when seemingly anything was possible. This is an interesting and unusual plot idea, and I'm intrigued to find out what they do with it. I expect it will be of the same high quality as the rest of their rides.
  11. Cool. They may have gotten a lot of positive responses for it in the survey. Wildfire has a good mad scientist theme already that fits in well. I'm sure the vehicles will be more Wellsian than DeLorean.
  12. This is how that went down: via Imgflip Meme Generator[/img]
  13. We went to the now defunct Route 66 Carousel in Joplin back in 2014. I wrote a trip report about it here: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=68248&p=1461388
  14. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that Kentucky Kingdom doesn't actually own any land, but instead leases it from the Kentucky Fair Board.
  15. Wow...these stories...People are stupid. I toally 100% believe these stories are true, though. I work in the travel industry, in accounts payable now, but I started in customer service and oh, the things people would complain about. I would have people asking for a refund because the outdoor pool was closed in January at their Canadian hotel. I do not in any way miss having to deal with those people. West Coast Bash was amazing in every way. I wrote that in a TR, and I haven't changed my mind. I got to visit a new city and experience things I never have before. Magic Mountain was so much fun even with a couple of the ERT coasters down in the morning, even with unexpected surprises in the evening. I got to do everything I wanted. And then Knott's was just mind blowing awesome. Everyone there was just super excited to show us around the backstage areas, lunch was incredible, both the food and the presentation ("more than one") That's the sort of thing that only comes out of a relationship. It's hard enough to negotiate with a business to provide a particular service, pay for that service, and have them follow through on that service. But Knott's really wanted us there, and it showed. That only comes from years of doing these events, getting to know the Knott's management, and impressing them enough and consistently enough to foster those good feelings. No one else could have done that event. It just wouldn't have been the same. So get rid of the idiots who complain about not being able to swim outside in Canada in January. And thanks for tolerating my idiocy over the last several years. You guys put up with a lot around here, and it's created the kind of community that has turned a summertime hobby into a passion that has brought my son and me closer. Seriously, thank you.
  16. No. I had to look that up. And no. Have you ever played an actual musical instrument?
  17. Interesting that we may see more Doves, but holy extended hiatus Batman--Slowdive has a new single?! And it's really good too!
  18. Yes, Runaway Ore Cart at SDC in 1989. Do you enjoy board games?
  19. McDonald's vs a Mom 'n Pop shop on Main Street U.S.A. Which would you rather get a burger from? Why? There's a local place in Springfield called Black Sheep that I will absolutely plug because their burgers are amazing. If I'm going out to eat, I'm getting the good stuff. So yeah, I'm biased toward the amazing over the generic, and I will absolutely pay more less often for good quality stuff.
