  1. Been a couple of years. I haven't gone there since we got a Freddie's in town. When was the last time you read a book?
  2. I have always enjoyed learning and generally try to find out as much as possible about the things I'm interested in. To that extent, I liked school. However, I have always been the sort of person likely to be the target of bullies, so it wasn't entirely a positive experience. Still, I am grateful for education. Do you like the car you currently drive?
  3. ^ Honestly SFStL has some legit rides. Mr. Freeze and Batman alone make it worth a visit, but then the three woodies.... Not to mention flats like Excalibur and Tsunami Soaker. It's a very underrated park. Just bring a picnic lunch and go out to your car to eat, it's faster than standing in a food line. I understand they're working on this issue, though, so good for them.
  4. Nah, they're not doing anything to Corkscrew.
  5. Yes. You will probably hear from some single people who only care about coasters that it's not, and for that sort of person, it isn't. But we have three kids who wanted to do the water park, Planet Snoopy, Route 76, Dinosaurs Alive, and the coasters, and so for us it absolutely was a very full and very fun day. We were there open to close and didn't want to leave even then. Nick Universe is a half day park though. We spent a whole day at Mall of America, but a lot of it was spent in the mall portion, at the aquarium, restaurants, and shops. Arnolds Park is worth going to with young children. We spent about 4 hours there, really took our time and re-rode everything. You could easily do the park in an hour, though. Unless you're really sold on California, it may be worthwhile to you to do a western Midwest tour for a slower pace. Maybe these? Little Amerricka Valleyfair Nick Universe Arnolds Park Adventureland Worlds of Fun Frontier City Silver Dollar City Six Flags St. Louis Holiday World Kentucky Kingdom Kings Island Still offers the advantage of having three parks on Cedar Fair Platinum Pass and a bunch of smaller/less expensive parks too. Less time driving, more time riding!
  6. For Day 13, is there something drawing you to Phoenix? It's halfway across the state, and you'd have to retrace your steps to get back to I-40 to go on to Albuquerque the next day. I'd suggest staying in Flagstaff instead.
  7. Regarding the popularity of Intamin Impulse coasters...
  8. If you make a poll as good as Mitch's, I will absolutely participate and support it.
  9. Very cool report. Dubai always looks fantastic, ans this report is no exception. Loved all the retro arcade cabinets.
  10. That seems really silly, shutting down coasters just to make them lighter.
  11. Both have a large fountain just inside the entrance. Fun Spot Orlando and Fun Spot Kissimmee
  12. ^ Don't spoil the fun. We're in the middle of our obligatory post-valley argument over whether it will be removed while simultaneously bitching about media blowing things out of proportion.
  13. Oh god, man, hit the return key every once in a while. I like the look of the new plaza, though. Turned out nice!
  14. I'll let you in on a little-known secret: There are other Universal parks that aren't in Orlando. Ssh, don't tell. Really? Is it that much different than DFW? SFOT has quite a few guests of the sort you've described, and they've made it work. And on intense rides too. Oh sh*t, that is gangsta. Leave your bag in a cubby, BAM. Sense of justice, gone, just like that. See you, desire to improve the world around me. Nice knowing you, kindness to strangers. Damn, Great Adventure is a rough place.
  15. Except that Disney and Universal both have pouches on their rides and don't seem to have a problem. And I can solve the other problem without any costly matter-to-energy converters: Just have cubbies with no back, accessible from either side, in between the entrance and exit paths. Spinning Dragons at Worlds of Fun does this, and it's super simple and effective.
  16. There are quite a few cool things being built in and around Branson recently. The area is finally figuring out how to market to families who aren't interested in country music.
  17. What has led to the speculation that it's a Mack Extreme Spinner is that SDC has said this ride is a first of its kind. A looping spinning coaster has not been built, although it was tested on Blue Fire. It's also something that people will immediately recognize as unique, and that's important to draw people to Branson. I say it's a good guess given what we know at this point. All of SDC's adult coasters are custom, so whatever type it is, it's not a stock layout.
  18. An hour for food . . . . wow, that's surprising to me. Clearly you haven't been to a Six Flags. You should go sometime, they're fun! I love how you cut out the bit where he stated that he had been to a Six Flags park
  19. Skip Boomerang or Ninja, boom, no problem. On second thought, better idea: Skip both Ninja and Boomerang because those suck and add on Mine Blower while you're in Orlando. You're welcome.
  20. An hour for food . . . . wow, that's surprising to me. Clearly you haven't been to a Six Flags. You should go sometime, they're fun!
  21. Brian Regan last November at the beautiful Gillioz Theatre in Springfield, Missouri. When was the last time you went skydiving?
  22. SDC for Festival of Wonder on 4/23. Excited to see the new shows!
