  1. So the day was pretty good. Falcons Fury was closed as was another flat which was a good bit disappointing as I wanted to do that one, but oh well. Park was beautiful as would be expected. Kumba was deff my favorite coaster. I think I expected a fun rise but your standard B&M 7 looper. Oh no, was forceful as hell, and despite being 25 was still quite smooth. I mean no real headbangin or anything. Controversial statement: I may pur Sheikra #2. Montu was fun. Back was more forceful than front, which I found a bit lackluster, but idk Sheikra I enjoyed more. Some good air on the drops and it was better than I expected. Cheetah Hunt, eh. Was fun. Didn't expect much so guess it met that. The front gave me some solid air on the Hill, back gave some on the first drop. Wasn't real fast feeling but it was a fun ride. Scorpion was what I expected, glad it's still around. Cobras curse....yeah even w low expectations that was pretty lame. Id say its not a great park for soloing, there's not a ton of stuff and when 2 rides are closed it felt like a big blow, and it's so large tough to hop around. I basically did each coaster 3 times in a row then moved on. With all the space felt like some wasted time walking. Great park for a chill day with friends, not for high efficiency soloing but I should a figured that. I was very glad to see they didnt mandate lockers and still had cubbies in the station. Was deff a nice park. Would love to go again with some friends.
  2. Well if the 30 minute drive from the gate to parking lot is a sign of crowds to come might as well get fast pass now lol or they need to expand that road from 2 lanes to like 5. Got here 1045 and it's about to be 1145 when i enter the actual park. Also gotta say, non enthusiast friend screws me again lol as always they had no motivation or care to be here at opening sooo now it's near noon... sorry to say I can't go to parks with non enthusiasts it's just too inefficient, of time and money.
  3. Excited to finally get to this park. I feel kinda bad I've blown it off for years, mostly for Cedar Point, but with DB, Banshee and Timbers now that's a nice lineup. I will be there May 31 a Thursday. What can be expected for a weekday that time of year in terms of crowds, the need for a fast pass, etc etc Im also trying to temper my expectations for Beast. A legend I know and a solid number of enthusiasts seem to like it, and while Im all for sense of speed and racing through the forest...just looks boring. Half the time is spent on lifts, all the long straight parts and trims....we shall see I guess.
  4. Wow, that is insane. It almost looks unreal, seeing such a narrow track under you and the speed it whips through some of those elements. Thinking a grand sized Texas trip is in order next year. OH and now that RMC is in the steel game they will truly become unstoppable. I kinda wish they would "rocky mountain treat" some terrible steel coasters...replace it with track like this. (Im thinking you, Anaconda)
  5. I've always thought they looked pretty fun, and are a cool concept personally. Will be in BGT in 36 hours, any food suggestions while in the park? Ideally a "real"/good restaurant, or really anywhere that's not the typical park fast food. I assume there's good places at a park like this. Deff excited!
  6. No idea how convenient/possible it is but what about Hansa Park? Only because Karnan is a coaster that looks very intriguing and awesome.
  7. Well, it's everything we expected. Long, packed with airtime and elements (that second inversion). Much as logic tells me to hold off a CP trip this year...this ride really makes rethink that!
  8. Tickets for bgt have been purchased! As have my plane tickets for the Indiana Ohio Kentucky mini trip so those are definitely on 4 new parks and I reckon around 20 new creds. Any updates on the WCB or at least of vague time frame when we may hear an announcement?
  9. Awesome! Truly superb job everyone! Also I'm very glad yo see all the intamin mega lites grouped as one. Not a big deal but it did irk me as they are all identical and took up multiple spots. Very interesting to see El Toro remain over LR (never rode it) and medusa tops em all!
  10. Great American Scream Machine at SF: Great Adv. Yeah starting off big. But seriously, was my first time at the park, until then I have only been inverted on Sooper Dooper Looper and that one looping coaster at Seaside Heights I cant seem to find, so I saw this huge, multi looping beast with all types of elements. It was long ago so I dont remember 100% but pretty sure it came before the runaway train because I remember being so amazed by it.
  11. Only did one ever, Mind Eraser at Darien Lake. Was absolutely awful. No doubt one of the worst experiences ever. Made me avoid them whenever I saw em, (given they all are exactly the same and I knew Vekoma was usually pretty rough) then people kept confirming they suck. So guess I cant really judge, but I also dont want to. I will gladly take the word of the (vast) majority that they all are pretty bad. Esp when ya get into "how to ride" and "keys" to making it not so bad....stuff like that in itself is a bad sign! Shame, people are right the layout is pretty awesome. Same layout but a B&M? Would be sick
  12. Awesome I have indeed, a case where the video of the riders told alot more than the track. Glad to see, shame it's so far/not a usual vaca spot. Something I would really love to try!
  13. For HoliWood Nights, is there any chance of Voyage having the MCBR lessened/turned off as I've heard sometimes happens?
  14. Grad student, currently on hiatus and looking to transfer schools, I currently work at the Tallahassee Police Department in the records department. So no, not a cop, and I sit at the computer all day long. It's solid pay, with actual room for growth and can provide a stepping stone to state level jobs, so it aint too shabby, and is fairly stress free to boot. Also, there's a wonderful park right next door where I often walk during my lunch breaks, or chill with some music.
  15. Glad this is here, I've wondered this myself. Long ago I saw "Around 60-65 mph" but given the POV's that just can't be right. No idea if there was any validity to this but once on the webs I heard someone say it was over 80 mph after trims, seems more right and is closer to what the above posts have said. Shall use this to ask something I've wondered to the few who have ridden it: How forceful is the ride? On the POV it seems to haul butt but is soooo drawn out and smooth, doesn't seem like there's much force in the turns, little to no airtime, seems like it's just moving very fast. To those who have ridden, what exactly are the forces like and how fun is it?
  16. Well slight change. CP/Kennywood is out. Instead shall do Kentucky Kingdom/Holiday World. Gunna try and sneak in Kings Island, still not sure but I'd like to. BGT happening end of this month. WCB if the time doesn't conflict with a wedding. If it does, I'll go to CP/Kennywood then
  17. Nice, thanks all! Seriously that's why I love this place, the info is invaluable. Sounds like it might be a worth while investment, this is just a one day thing (and actually I doubt I'll stay the whole day as I am meeting people later in St Pete) so I'm out just to maximize everything. I actually don't have too much of an issue with lines, even up to an hour or + depending but this is a case where Im solo and just out to marathon. And I love animals, if there's time that's good to know but I'll likely skip it.
  18. So finally getting to this park (even more shameful given I've lived 4ish hours away for 2 years now). Will be the 28th of this month. What can I expect in terms of crowds/wait times for the coasters? Is there any type of fast pass and if so do ya think it's necessary (aka can I get on every coaster, ideally more than once for biggies, and have time for other rides etc) Anyone have a general plan of attack? Part of why this place is great, seasoned vets/locals for every park that always know the best way to do things. Thanks, and looking forward to finally getting here! I asked my parents many times when we were on vaca and eventually got "OK next year" and we never went back to FL again lol Edit: Should add, not a cred whore, I am perfectly ok skipping certain ones like the wild mouse, kiddie ride and possible even cobra's curse (is it worth a ride?)
  19. Wow! It almost doesn't look real. Amazing looking coaster. Can't wait for the WCB, deff gunna spend some time in the bay area parks, esp CGA!
  20. The announcement for the sale is done by Tony Clark on Twitter with the name @TonyClarkCP He posts all the information for events like Coastermanaia or Coaster Campout. Dang, this is what I get for my avoidance of Twitter!
  21. Last year didn't sell out, if I'm not mistaken. They've been charging and limiting tickets for the past few years. I'm definitely in favor of that! Before charging, the ERT lines were like normal wait times for the rides. Good move Tony!! It seems not. Well if ERT lines were that long then yeah limiting is good. I just am curious, did I miss an announcement, or is there not one and we just need to check daily? Ah well lesson learned for next year, and as for this year still weighing if I wanna go on the 1st anyway or try new parks. The pull of SV is just too strong
  22. Amazing pictures and reviews! If I ever need to drive back up north, deff stopping at KD! A park with a unique set of coasters, and this is an awesome addition
  23. Mhm I've heard nothing but good about the park as well as the event, and it's been a while since I've gone to any new parks. And thanks Thrillerman, that was actually my thinking! So glad to hear it's indeed realistic. Deff got some thinking to do.
  24. Yeah, same. I usually go in May, but still June 1 is pretty early season. I am deff considering it, I love Cedar Point too much and SV is too delicious looking. And I did plan to do Kennywood and possibly also Waldameer as part of the trip. We shall see.
  25. Well I got that day off already approved, so Im doing something I've never had fast pass. Please give me all the input/experience yall have with it at Cedar Point. I may still go on the first with normal hour early access, fast pass, and see if I can still get a pretty jam packed day out of it. Im not too concerned with the regular day crowds, really its all about if I can still get the SV, MF and Maverick done. Willing to forego TTD, done that enough. Would fast pass be worth it?
