  1. ^Hmmmmm. I never thought about the consequences this could have on Eagle's queue. Some reduced traffic would be nice if it doesn't present an excuse for constant one train operations.
  2. They're not going to replace it with another drop tower. Not enough people would notice the difference. Ridership was already low, because "drop tower 1 is too intense for me." Financially, it was probably a good move, but I see this as one more step back on the roller coaster front. That area is already a dead spot, so a replacement flat would make more sense. I'm mostly glad our Log Flume didn't make the chopping block. We could have lost a true classic. The Moon Cars had already gone missing from its former appeal, so the nostalgia was long gone. Still, I'd rather have kept a one carriage Superman than our Boomerang being a boomerang, and tainting the once beautiful view of Screamin' Eagle. I guess I just miss the days of Castaway Kids, Rush Street Flyer, bumper cars, Tidal Wave, and especially Mr. Freeze v1. I didn't give a crap about half those rides then, but I probably would now, minus Tidal Wave of course. Those were my favorite times. I sound like the people who puzzled me ten years ago. Although... we do have JB's bar, so maybe that makes up for it all? #bringbackmule-go-round
  3. That really sucks about Superman. I really liked it. That area in the park will be even more dead. I wonder how long it will be SBNO. It might give Hannibarrels a run for its money. I would have liked to take my daughter on the Moon Cars this year, but they sucked anyway.
  4. For a second there, I thought you quoted a post from 06/13/2016.
  5. Goes to show you only coaster enthusiasts care about the details of a regional Six Flags park. Most people won't care enough to see the discrepancies.
  6. Thank God we have an all new "rough or smooth" debate. The Kings Island thread has been dead, lately.
  7. Is there a skip-the-line pass here? We are thinking about taking a trip in April. We may start in Vegas for a couple nights, and end here. I don't want to go if lines are crazy.
  8. Six Flags Saint Louis is successful in November and December. We have a nearly identical climate, five hours away. The excitement and edginess of a park this size is relevant to the first post on this page being from July. It's the most vanilla park I've ever visited, and it's such a shame given its potential.
  9. My guess for Mystery Mine's changes are to make the ride more reliable and smooth. Dollywood is being smart taking a break from prioritizing additions over improvements. It's definitely a good strategy to sell more season passes and memberships.
  10. Actually, it was going to be a giga, but it got rerouted to Six Flags Over Georgia.
  11. I think there are whitewater rafting tours nearby. I can't remember where we did ours.
  12. So you're for sanitizing coaster trains indefinitely? I try not to always get the past confused with the present.
  13. It's neither cheap, easy, or practical to dig a 100 foot deep tunnel. Apparently Roller Coaster Tycoon is catching on again.
  14. Yes, but eventually we're all going to have to get over the "touch points," but I fear the universal "we" partially never will. I can see them building bins way before pouches. I don't think it would be that hard to do. This is how Hershey operates, and how parks operated prior to the locker money grab.
  15. ^No. SFSTL had the "absolute worst" example. American Thunder (GCI) ran one train ops and loaded it half empty. When the cycle finished, they would soak it in cheap smelling sanitizer and let it run empty for a cycle to dry off, which only partially worked.
  16. Worlds of Fun is vanilla AF. It's a shame such a beautiful park suffers from such a lackluster lineup. I see what people are talking about with Canada's Wonderland, but I don't understand the hate on Six Flags Great America. Six Flags Saint Louis may not have the massive attraction we all want, but what it does have is pretty solid, especially considering how small the park is.
  17. um... Concentrate more on just getting the job, first. You can figure out what songs to sing and what rides to go on with your power ranger friends at a later time. Seriously though, don't mention any of this crap in an interview. Talk about being a responsible and friendly hard worker and not what gimmicks you have in mind for dispatches or what rides you will or will not ride on break. Let us know how it turns out.
  18. So about Six Flags Great America... Hopefully they're not stuck with one train ops and half full trains like SFSTL was all season. It wasn't worth visiting.
  19. Not hitting Castles and Coasters the few times we were in Phoenix. (just kidding...)
  20. I think a terrain focused Raptor would be a good fit for HW. As for KK, it's coaster line-up is pretty solid. I don't see the immediate need for a new addition, until Herschend introduces its own flavor. I suspect they'll diversify their entertainment first, as indicated by their announcement.
  21. I don't think the main purpose of advancing with the $15 sooner than other businesses is to be "fair and progressive." I think the strategy is to advance slightly quicker to make their job postings more appealing, since it's an inevitable change, anyway. The park is doing something they wouldn't have done if it wouldn't be mandatory in the very near future. They'll hold at $15 for as long as possible, just like every other business. Smart strategy, though. As far as NJ Devil it looks great. I'm sure SFSTL will get a raptor just as good, soon............
  22. This is not good advice for anyone to follow.
  23. Time for the other Herschend parks to jump on the booze wagon.
  24. This is what I was thinking. What's there to be excited about getting a smaller version of a ride? The initial complaints were that it was the smaller model. I think guests would be more impressed with a larger wheel (if that's the case) and higher capacity. It's not much different than feeling lucky to have received a smaller ferris wheel or carrousel than other parks.
