  1. I was debating whether or not to say anything. Josh and I text on a regular basis. I've received updates from his parents lately. Josh used to be a big contributor here, including posting behind the scene reports. As a passionate employee of the park, he cut back on posting over the last few years, due to the negativity. He's a great guy. Please keep him in your thoughts and/or prayers.
  2. Do we know for sure it's a cheaper option than RMC? If it would help it keep more of the wood coaster feel and drastically improve the ride, I'd be all for it vs instead of I-Box. I don't know if it's as big of a marketing sell to add an element or two instead of completely reworking the ride.
  3. I'm not getting too involved in the wood vs. steel argument, but I'll say for me there's a noticeable difference in how a RMC wooden coaster rides vs. their I-box. It feels more like a wooden coaster to me than a steel coaster. As far as potholes go, Outlaw run has a prominent one on the bottom of its first drop. It's very noticeable in the back seat.
  4. Bro. I literally just came to this thread to comment on how there are already arguments breaking out on some of the roller coaster facebook pages. The ride will still kick ass. I'll take reliability over novelty. I mean... Anything to keep me coming back here to St. Louis would be considered a good thing, Kim. But, that's just me.
  5. For the same reason Togo was bad for offering similar rides, but B&M is good for offering similar rides.
  6. Steel Vengeance is better than Iron Gwazi according to youtubers who haven't ridden either of the two.
  7. I wouldn't think the solution to Lightning Rod's downtime is to complicate the point of failure even more. I saw on a Facebook group (lol) where there's supposedly been blue I-Box track spotted in the woods. Pictures and all. I didn't look at the pictures in depth, but it almost looked legit. From the little attention I paid to the post, the track pieces looked straight. My main apprehension is if they were replacing portions of the track with I-Box track, why the hell would it be blue?
  8. I know the video was overlaid with typical cheesy coaster music, but the lift doesn't seem to be obnoxiously loud like other hybrid conversions. Steel Vengeance is full of a ton of rapid transitions and short bursts of ejector airtime. The whole ride feels like the back half of Storm Chaser to me, to an extent. Iron Gwazi looks like it doesn't have as many of those intense elements. I see a lot of somewhat typical overbanked turns. The shorter ride also makes it less of an endurance challenge. I have a feeling I'll like Iron Gwazi a lot more than Steel Vengeance.
  9. Is that one supposed to be as bad as Green Lantern was?
  10. Thanks. We'll be wearing masks for sure, and we'll do our best to keep her away from other people. Her stroller covers her pretty good.
  11. Our kid is 6 months old. Admission is free, right? We were wanting to go see the lights this year for a quick touch-and-go. How does this work as far as masks go? We may just hold off this year, unfortunately.
  12. I like the looks of the double-up. The middle drop looks massive. I wonder if the spinning will be any more or less aggressive than other models. The one at SFGAdv beat us up compared to the several rides we've had at SFGAm. It might be because every cycle is different. Maybe we got a really aggressive cycle in Jersey.
  13. Hopefully this answered your question. Just don't forget to factor in temperature and humidity into the equation.
  14. I always have an eye rolling moment when there are have three urinals with an open one in the middle and grown men will actually wait instead of using the middle stall. It's like a childish homophobe rule people go by. I'll teach my daughter to communicate with people, just like my parents taught me. Sad. I get your point, but I'm still not on board with the toboggan position with strangers 'if it can be avoided.' I'd prefer not to, to the point where I've told the ops that we'd rather ride alone on things like the log flume. It also helps with making a lesser splash! Although, it's different with the few flumes I've ridden with dividers. I have a friend who's humor sometimes revolves around intentionally making situations awkward. He always stands right next to people he knows in urinals and makes comments like, "nice watch!"
  15. I've had a lot of locker room/shower time throughout the years. It's different from being confined in a dry-humping position with a stranger. Gerstlauer spinners, like Pandemonium(s). I don't like feeling obligated to interact with people I don't know, but I'm human and it's the polite thing to do under most circumstances. Our generation may be one of the last which knows how to verbally communicate. Reading fail.
  16. That's a strange thing to boast about.
  17. Nailed it. You're the expert in human behavior. You have theme park experience.
  18. We had four trick-or-treaters this year.
  19. ^Oh shit! You have experience dealing with people? Even during the pandemic? What true insight into humanity you must have. I guess I just didn't realize who I was talking to.
  20. "Flatten the curve."
  21. We have three pumpkins on our front porch. We're doing the same thing we do every year, except the pumpkins aren't carved this year, because of infant time constraints. Outside of probably wearing a mask, nothing will change about how we hand out candy.
