  1. We're staying at a resort in Branson in the beginning of August for four days. Suggestions for local activities with a two-year-old? She's 34", so I'm hoping we can still get on a few things at SDC. Going to spend a portion of the day there, and another at the water park.
  2. That's because you're normal. I will ride kiddie coasters soon... but because I have a daughter who won't be able to ride alone. I figured out quickly that it used to feel weird being an adult and riding a kiddie coaster just for an imaginary "credit," because it actually was weird.
  3. Wow, Zadra. An RMC with sustained positive G banking and a gradual straight traditional airtime hill. A nice floater upside down hill, or whatever they are called. No constant thrashing about? Nice.
  4. People who build back yard coasters are already strange. The guy who has the resources, but still chooses to build something as terrible as a wild mouse is someone you probably want to stay away from. Far away.
  5. I would have thought all of that new track would have fixed everything.
  6. ^What he said. Anything in or near the third trimester in this heat isn't a great idea. Although I like the heat, and I like moving around, SDC really is hot in the summer. Well shaded, but there are definitely blacktop heat islands... I'm no OBGYN, but I recommend making sure she has a A LOT of water and regular shaded rests. I would say next year seems like a better option, but if you're like us, your park visits are going to drastically decrease for a couple years.
  7. That building out front really added to the new premium experience. Time to add another themed area by painting Nitro black and calling it Cat Woman's shady alley, or something. Little would need to be done, aside from adding a few more 2D cutouts. It worked for Great America, right?
  8. Honestly, sounds like good exercise to me. Maybe I wouldn't have to run in the morning.
  9. Dude! That recreated family photograph is awesome! Priceless, for sure. I haven't been on IG, but good to know SV is just as good, if not better. I used to have mixed feeling about it, but after our trip a few weeks ago I have a new appreciation. It's not the care-free, hands up kind of ride I usually like. Steel Vengeance is more of an endurance challenge. It's fun just to hold on, brace, and enjoy the ride trying to kick your butt. At the end of our two rides, out of 6-7 from prior trips, I had an appreciation for how relentless and drawn out it was. It definitely gave us a holy crap/WTF expression when we hit the brake run. With a mindset adjustment and knowing what to expect, I can say I really like it. Once or twice per day is enough for me, though. Magnum was also kind of good/tolerable this time around, thanks to the seatbelt trick. I ratcheted that sucker down and leaned forward into a "defensive riding position." It was like the steel version of The Boss at SFSTL... Sorry to hijack your post.
  10. Sir... I think you've had too much cinnamon bread. You're drunk.
  11. Yes. The lights are currently being refurbished by one in-house maintenance guy with a folding ladder and some 70 watt high efficiency warm-light bulbs. The project started in 2016. Should be done any year now. They are also closing the ride temporarily for a few seasons, because they have to sand and stain the queue deck. The park works slowly with woodwork, but it will be perfect for a month when it's finished.
  12. I can't believe people aren't visiting Six Flags parks in droves right now, with at least three new cardboard signs per park and themed areas including pre-existing rides.
  13. Get your Fastlane plus wrist band and proceed immediately to The Bat. It doesn't have Fastlane Plus. After that, take the park at your own pace. Enjoy visiting the best one-day park in the country. (Maybe 2nd to Worlds of Fun, right?)
  14. Let's make the T-Rex happen. It's time. Mostly, I want to see the inevitable locker system that will come along with it, causing enthusiasts to lose their minds.
  15. Glad you guys are getting so stoked for another new turn-around for Timber Wolf.
  16. So what you're saying is Velocicoaster is better?
  17. Did you bring a notepad with you? I don't understand all of the clientele comments. Are people specifically looking for a certain demographic to judge, or is it across the board? It's one thing to be comically critical of parks, but there seems to be a growing trend of self righteous coaster enthusiasts. It's the worst kind of toxicity.
  18. Who knew kids would be at an amusement park acting like kids? If only Kings Island catered to middle aged visitors without kids, like the rest of the parks in the industry and their target markets.
  19. Of course you would. You're a coaster enthusiast.
  20. I mean... It's probably RMC, but I'm with you on your point of view. I'm not necessarily doubting the social media posts, but does anyone have an actual link, or is it just shared screenshot after shared screenshot. Like has anyone seen the original? Personally, I hope they just tear it down after dangling the carrot, strictly for entertainment. This is why I could never own a park...
  21. I think the problem is you care too much about something so insignificant you're letting it affect your enjoyment of the ride. First world problems indeed.
  22. Night ride on Millennium Force, with my wife. It was a perfect finish to a two-day trip.
