  1. Would be nice to see someone prosecuted for this shit, when it results in injury.
  2. Yes. FL+ makes KI a one day park. 12 hours is plenty of time to ride at your leisure, and drink beer. During The Haunt, one is more important than the other. If you can hold out, I would wait for The Haunt.
  3. Take it easy, bro. It shouldn't be this personal, because the park owes you nothing. A slap in the face would mean caring what you wanted. They don't. Their strategy is to get as many guests through the gates as possible. Their guess is that this will do just that. My opinion? Meh. It's a bland addition for one of the most bland parks I've ever been to. WoF is just a shoulder shrug to me, mostly because there are so many better options in about the same driving distance for me. But, it certainly doesn't offend me. I don't know what people expected from this park. Also, no one needs to get started on trying to say WoF is affected at all by what other parks withing 4-5 hours offer. That's just silliness.
  4. Stoked for Facebook to implode from the complaints about another restaurant.
  5. I told you Worlds of Fun would be getting a new coaster! I've been saying it since 2010! I was right! Six Flags Saint Louis is also going to get a new... Well, maybe not Six Flags Saint Louis.
  6. Almost everything costs more, service is not the same, and product quality is going to shit. Aside from that, everything is great. I hope he factored inflation into those figures, because they definitely make his numbers looks better without taking that into consideration.
  7. You'll probably be good on Sunday, but the FL+ isn't what it used to be on Saturdays. It's still good, but I've found myself waiting in 20 minute lines for Diamondback and Orion. Sometimes Banshee fills up, too. Haunt ride waits can be up to 30 minutes until the haunt attractions open up. (Never any haunt attraction wait with Fright Lane) Mystic Timbers has never been more than a wait on the stairs for me. Is that still really good? Yes, but it's not the nearly guaranteed walk-on golden ticket it used to be, that I praised so much. I have no idea how this holds true on a week day. We've been so many times it's not worth my wife taking off an extra day just to avoid a Saturday visit.
  8. So what you're saying is the carousel at Six Flags Saint Louis will be down for another season? I made a change to your post.
  9. True, but everything else took a shit, too.
  10. Dragster is a crowd pleaser as it is now. They're either going to keep it the way it is and needlessly redesign the queue, or get rid of it and put something in its place. As people have said time and time again, the launch did not cause this issue. It could have been replaced years ago if Cedar Point wanted to do it. This incident was a freak accident. It could just as easily happen on any roller coaster near any path. Heavy high velocity objects with multiple moving and bolted on parts can shed lethal objects at any given time. Cork Screw's loop over the midway. Mavericks sweeping turn over the pond. Millennium Force's passes near the queue and over the pathway tunnel. Gatekeeper over the main entrance. Raptor's cobra roll aimed at the pathway. The freaking sky ride... 37 deaths and 113 injuries have been documented from vending machines since 1979. This is a terrible accident, but it doesn't need to change the way the world works. I can promise you the lake has the potential to be far more dangerous than any of the roller coasters at Cedar Point. Pay out. Put reasonable measures in place (fences/nets), and move on.
  11. Utilities, supplies, etc for the parks are going to raise. It makes sense that the passes will raise too. Seems like it should be even more.
  12. We had a great time in Branson this week. It was my two-year-old's first road trip, and our four hour trek (5 hours with a kid) wasn't bad. We went to SDC Tuesday. Rides: Flooded mine x2. (Her first dark ride.) Train. Carousel. The one at SFSTL is often closed, even more than Boomerang and Xcaliber, so despite her 5 or so carousels, she never gets to ride that one. This one was great, because it had smaller horses, too. Huck Fin's splash battle or whatever it is. We never ride these. Ever. The dads were cool about only spraying my wife and I, while saying, "Not the daughter! Dad only!" After shieling her, and getting constantly blasted in the face, I got a "Thanks for taking one for the team, Dad!" She loved it, so it was worth it. I've never been more soaked at a park. Fireman's landing was cool. We rode the fire dog's twice, which my daughter loved. Whatever drop/bounce tower thing we rode was a little too intense for her. It was "ok, all done?" by about our third bounce. I'm actually surprised this is a ride for kids under 36", accompanied by an adult. (We're at 34" now.) Aside from that, we let her play on the splash pad and scream for a while. The stunt dog show was a massive hit, and we were able to get out of the heat for a while. The hostess was awesome and sat us in the reserved seating, because my daughter is so damned cute. It comes with the territory of only being two, but having a shit ton of hair and being verbally advanced... She gets it from her mom. Dad brag. Pre-show the kids got to meet the big dog in the costume. After, they got to meet a stunt dog. She screamed in the ear of the people next to us the whole time. I gave up on stopping her, because I'm a prick, and I thought it was funny. It was hot AF, there were no lines, and I still managed to get a ride on one of my favorite wooden coasters. We had to leave for a few hours for a nap, so as usual that took a big bite out of our day. The little random shit you'd never care about as an adult was great for kids, like the cow utter thing, and big ball fountain. Despite thinking, "We didn't come here for this shit," you just let your kids enjoy it... Even if your young child walks well, bring a freaking stroller. I'm glad my wife talked me into it. It would have been an absolute shit show without it. Staff was friendly. The park was clean. The large building being constructed just absolutely ruins the entire park. Just trashed. We'll never be back. My wife was offended and our daughter cried. Branson was cool for kids. We read complaints about the aquarium, but why? I was really impressed. Food is really underwhelming, and I feel like it's all geared toward seniors. HOWEVER, Mr. Gilberti's Chicago Style Pizza in Hollister was some of the best pizza I've ever had. Ever. They only took reservations when we went, and there were signs warning about the hour + wait for your food, which wasn't a lie. Despite that, I'd say it gives Lou Malnati's in Chicago a run for its money. It's kind of a hole in the wall and seating is limited. They're going to tell you when you can come when you call for your reservations... without much flexibility. How did this place get here? Pizza, bottled domestics, and the best fried mushrooms I'd ever had was a welcome change from giant meatball places on the strip. We went full nostalgia mode and bought a couple disposable cameras, so we can make a photo-book. Two cameras and processing is about $150. Lol. Times change. My computer is on full dim mode, because of a wicked headache, and I'm not proof reading. Cheers.
  13. I'm calling it: SBNO, with a free spin in it's place. Just kidding. We won't get the free spin. A local splash pad is opening by our house. I'm pretty stoked for my daughter. I say this, because in the very large 2.1 million dollar park expansion, the entire ground was leveled, utilities were run, the splash pad was built, a nice concession stand was constructed, the parking lots have been completed, and phase 1 should be set to open shortly. It broke ground in September, 2021. Meanwhile, the carousel...
  14. It's probably been asked 100 times before, but I never paid attention, since it wasn't not applicable for me. Are there single rider entrances? I wouldn't mind snagging just a couple awkward rides on a coaster or two, but I don't want to leave my wife and daughter waiting long. Year 2001.
  15. Best compliment ever. The Boss is the Timber Wolf of this side of Missouri. Love it or hate it, The Boss still sucks. I'll repeat my strategy: (1) Butt back (2)Lean Forward (3) Grab the bar in front of you (4) Two beers in. Enjoy! (Kind of)
  16. Every normal person I know who visited the park always talks about "That one roller coaster that launches you over 100 mph and has a 400 foot drop." Top Thrill is a one trick pony that people love. It's crazy to ride, and crazy to watch. It's a highly visible icon of the park. One recent major story doesn't mean it's "constantly" in the news. You may pay attention to every story, but the majority of people don't care. I long to be, "That one coaster" guy again. "That one coaster" guy the park caters to. I promise, "That one coaster" guy usually doesn't know about the negative press, or the accident. "That one coaster" guy also doesn't give a shit. "That one coaster" guy has a family and knows the odds of anyone getting hurt are slim-to-none, and that risk is outweighed by the reward of giving his family a kickass trip with "That one coaster" stories for years to come.
  17. Let's not get into another over simplified, "If you build it, they will come" argument. None of us are privy to any of the market and investment research Cedar Fair has done with this park.
  18. "Almost couldn't walk..." really? I hope so, but she's incredibly cautious.
  19. Agreed. The trains off of the track means nothing, as it definitely makes complete sense. They have already announced the closure for the season, so it wouldn't make sense to leave them there. Whatever they do, I hope it pisses a lot of people off. Can you say, "World largest super loop coaster?" Bring it.
