  1. Man, that takes guts. Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Email the major park chains and ask. Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Herschend... Knoebels... Hershey is pretty charitable. They may do some kind of a large charity related event, but not necessarily at the park. The upside is you'll be right there. I believe several parks have annual 5k's through the park, with the proceeds going to charity. Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks were big on this.
  3. That's an easy one, bro. A family coaster is for kids who aren't up to the task of riding the bigger rides, but they're still exciting enough for adults to enjoy. "A ride the whole family can enjoy." Height isn't always a factor. Just about any mine train is a prime example. It's the happy medium between a Hyper and a Roller Skater.
  4. That's concerning. I've read enough Facebook posts to know if you don't hear the restraint click it can lead to injury or death.
  5. People said the same thing about Carowinds not too long ago.
  6. If it's smoother and retracked, why do people say it still sucks so bad? It doesn't matter what has, or hasn't been done to it, if it still beats the crap out of you
  7. It's so weird that in all of my experiences Maverick is either the longest FL+ line in the park, or walk-on FL+. It's the Diamondback of Cedar Point.
  8. "Better" for who? Subjectivity. It's a thing.
  9. I'm not used to the lack of social media videos and armchair safety experts going on tirades. This press release is way too appropriate to be real.
  10. I like how down to earth that guy is. 'That's my kind of people.'
  11. Looks like you still got it. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Damn! That top hat looks sinister. Also, looking at black painted track while listening to Tim Burton Batman music gave me some decent flashbacks to my teens when I saw just tall enough to ride B:TR @ STSFL.
  13. Just think, only a few more years before we all complain about rough rides on The Beast and say it needs retracking. Then, a couple shameless fanboys will mention RMC, and the other shameless fanboys will scorn them and call for justice. Others will compromise and suggest whatever X company came out with their newest topper track at IAPPA should work on The Beast, but keep the layout the same. Ten years of mixed roughness reviews later, The Beast will get some new track work, flaunt a couple degrees added to a banking turn on social media, and we'll all be talking about how it's the best ride ever for one whole season. People will come from near and far to ride it. (Kentucky) Until... the cancer returns with one comment similar to: "Man, all of my rides on The Beast last season were 'epic zen rides' during the Coaster Smash Bash Marathon Buffet Trivia Back Stage Scavenger Social ERT Awkward Fest 4th Anniversary Event, but this time I sat in row 25, seat 14, far left side, and it was brutal." Long live the endless cycle of the wooden coaster.
  14. Ironically, these exact words comprise 90% of the Yelp reviews for this park, shared with the average review of a meal at Denny's.
  15. Totally get it, but I just couldn't help myself.
  16. Be aware, I've seen Maverick have some of the longest FL+ lines at any park outside of a Halloween event. It will overflow outside of the entrance, occasionally. When that happens, SKIP IT. It may be empty an hour later, and it commonly has no FL+ line near the end of the day.
  17. You're not going to get walk-on rides, but you'll probably get to the station in under 30 minutes.
  18. I never realized how right you were until I looked back at these three pictures of Fury.
  19. ? Yeah, sucks when coasters beautifully interact with park entrances displayed in well maintained grassy areas where everyone can see them.
  20. You don't typically drape vines. They grow. A mural should help it blend in.
  21. Yeah, it seems like news on that just kind of stopped... Kind of like how no one seemed to care about the Wicked Twister area for a while, aside from your typical fanboy cries of, "It's going to be an RMC boardwalk coaster!!" I feel like people used to post updates of every shrub being cut down. Even the Worlds of Fun crew hasn't been very giddy about finding out where the next new pathways or bathroom renovations will be.
  22. Said no Lightning Rod operator, ever.
  23. If a roller coaster is coming anytime soon, it's not going where the ground clearing is. The goal is to exploit the beach, not block it. I also fear it may be Dragster's resting ground.
