  1. ^Oh, I haven't had the chance to ride one of those. But yeah, I do agree that B&M bad coasters are better than Intamin's bad coasters. P.S. A few years ago I was B&M all the way but unless they quickly return to their 90's awesomeness, things will soon be the other way around.
  2. ^^^I didn't know that the seats will return to their normal position before the ride hits the brakes, that's interesting. I'm guessing they might have done it to eliminate the need for some sort of leg restraints like on B&M flyers as, if properly restrained, riders can actually withstand more Gs in the "flying" position that if sitting upright.
  3. ^ I haven't, and I feel pretty bad for myself . In fact, I've only been on one Schwarzkoph: Sooperdooperlooper and while the loop was reasonably forceful the rest of the ride was just average.
  4. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day
  5. ^I don't know, it's not something I haven't thought of but there are other places in the park, namely Bizarro, where you could throw an object at a train if yo wanted too.
  6. Looking twisty. It looks like the supports are mainly steel in this picture. Were they like that in the original medusa?
  7. Ah! I have to correct you there. Gerstlauer did. Intamin once held that record and so did B&M (Dragon Khan). But yeah, you pretty much demonstrated all the variety that Intamin offers.
  8. Woody Allen
  9. ^Well that depends on what kind of coaster you're looking for. According to RCDB Intamin has 120 coasters while B&M has 92. That being said, intamin also makes family rides while B&M doesn't (or at least didn't).
  10. I'm kind of glad to see Coaster Express (my worst coaster ever) ranked second to last but also depressed to see I haven't been on any of the top 20 I have to get around more.

  12. ^I think there could be just no vest. Move the bars to the side a bit and you would have a comfy lapbar!
  13. ^Do their vests on flying coaster work the same way? I know the restraints themselves aren't hydraulic like on wing coasters but do the vests have a similar locking system? The difference being that on the flying ones it really must be properly tight.

  15. ^^It's amazing how high the boomerangs rank in G forces given that they seem nothing special. I got the feeling of pulling a lot of Gs more on Stinger at Dorney than on Sidewinder at Hershey.
  16. Hard Rock
  17. ^But that's one of the exceptions I mentioned as the length of its brake run allows it to run 3 trains. I know Banshee will also have a long one. So is that what will allow for 3 trains to be running?
  18. ^I don't hate them. Just regard them as inferior
  19. Looking good. I think that colour scheme is nice too. The station also looks more robust than Superman's.
  20. I actually had thought of this too. An airtime hill where both the entry and exit were beyond vertical. I call it: light bulb hill, due to its shape You could call it an Omega, after the greek letter, also somewhat describes the look of the element and sounds way better too. You're right, it does sound a lot cooler.
  21. Nice! Is this the first B&M that runs 3 trains without a MCBR? Assuming tatsu's can be considered one for the effect an so does leviathan's extended brake run.
  22. Let's kick some ice!

  24. It's funny how when I actually started learning some stuff about coasters I was B&M all the way. Now, though, I'm not so sure. I mean, their more recent rides have been lacking in intensity and innovation. Intamin, on the other hand, keeps making awesome rides and pushing the limit, which I do praise. My favourite ride is Dragon Khan but it's not exactly a coaster that made me go: OMFG!!! in the end. I love it due to its length, overall intensity, variety of inversions and pacing (helped by the fact that the trains fly through the MCBR). If I compare it to my second and third favourites, we have Storm Runner (2) which I found awesome (great launch, nice pops of airtime, great pacing and unique elements) and did make me go "Wow! That was great!". I just don't rank it higher because of its length. Then we have Skyrush which made me think: "OMFG!! That was awwwwesommmeeeee!!!!!!" but falls to third because of the terrible restraints which were incredibly painful. This kind of illustrates the positive and negative aspects of each manufacturer: B&M makes consistent rides (some of which are great and intense) with great capacity and reliability while Inatmin likes to innovate which may translate into a few problems (like Skyrush's restraints) although my biggest complaint about them is reliability. Every time I go to a park that has an intamin I'm afraid it won't be open: when I went to SFGAd for the first time kingda ka only opened at 3 or 4 p.m. ; in 2012 I went to portaventura and Furius Baco wasn't open in the morning; last summer the only two rides which were closed in the four parks I went to were el toro and maverick (I'm not even counting shoot the rapids) which was very very disappointing as they are considered some of the best coasters in their parks (and even in the world). I've never ever seen a B&M closing for a second, well, actually when I went to great adventure superman had a problem with one of the trains and ran with only one for a while but quickly it returned to a two train operation. So, all in all, I'm still not sure. Part of me really loves B&M as, when they nail it, there is just something about their rides which makes them feel complete and very competent. But then intamin makes the most kick ass ones. If it stays the same in the future I'm afraid I will have to take intamin, sorry B&M.
