  1. My Bag O Crap has arrived!! It's almost like a birthday present! (yeah, I turn 18 on Sunday) Lots and lots of cool stuff, so not really crap! I just want to say thank you Sooo much!! Especially as it was sent from so far away. What a kick-ass Bag O Crap!
  2. ^That's what I was thinking. Also, as LSM are usually quite reliable why not building a launched ride that uses those? I've noticed most of them don't exceed 70-75 mph but would it be so ridiculously expensive to build and run one that it wouldn't be worth it? Or maybe that technology simply isn't prepared for that yet.
  3. Hummmmm.. this is proving to be quite tricky with wooden coasters...
  4. Hahaha!! That was at the same level as Mr. Freeze's puns, which are the best ever! Let's kick some ice!
  5. I definitely agree. I rode the one at SFGAd last summer and there wasn't any single moment of any sort of roughness whatsoever (in the front and very back) and it was 20 YEARS OLD!
  6. ^Well, they do prevent headbanging and there is more "arm room" but due to their shape your arm movement is kind of limited (you can't fully raise your hands normally, at least I couldn't) and then there is the tightening issue which you usually only notice when the ride is over. Last but not least, the way they glue you to your seat means you can't really feel some forces like floater air (I know gatekeeper's big hill does provide a little negative Gs but I just couldn't feel it, the same thing with the zero-g roll where with the old restraints you would lift a bit and move about slightly)

  8. Only one word can describe this: TWISTTYYYYY!!!!
  9. ^Well, given that FOTR is more forceful than other wing coasters and both hair raiser and starry night ripper/sky scraper/whatever were pretty good in that area compared to other new B&Ms (according to what I've read and heard) it doesn't sound so ridiculous.
  10. I think it was mentioned a while ago at Weird a Coaster Fact thread. Yeah, I did. People keep coming to me asking about this as I'm the local roller coaster "expert" and in the beginning it was kind of funny but now I'm starting to get annoyed. I think I have explained the NTaG accident at least 20 times, at least 10 mins each. But it feels great when only you can answer the question Yeah you do feel kind of important (and superior)
  11. Blade Runner
  12. ^That is one possible explanation as FOTR and GK are the fastest.
  13. Yes, they do seem reasonably hard, you're right. But, actually, in this case, I think a more rubbery material would be more comfortable.
  14. I hope that in the end it doesn't look too chunky due to the extra supports. I think the least there are the better a ride looks (like I305). But if they're doing it, it's because it is necessary, I suppose.

  16. They look almost exactly like wing coasters vest-restraints and seats (which, while you don't notice how tight they are, are fine)
  17. ^Nasty stuff to happen to a new park. Any guesses about the cause? Design issue? Maintenance?
  18. CEDAR POINT FANBOY ALERT - Gatekeeper does have a forceful part. The dive-drop-Immelmann combo. I'm not as in love with the ride as I used to be, but once they get a permanent vest fix, lighting fix, and roughness fix, the ride will be great. Yes, I sound like a troll. They may be able to sort out the restraints issue as well as the lights but I'm not sure what they can do about the roughness as it looks like a design flaw. Hopefully future ones won't suffer from this problem but with the rides already built it might not be that simple.
  19. Invert
  20. On the bottom of their drops they do.
  21. Racing coaster
  22. Well, it's wood.... Right?
  23. ^I think they could have made the seats like on B&M flyers and having them facing down all the way. If riders can easily take the G-forces on a flying coaster, they should be able to endure the braking on this ride, right?
  24. How is FOTR any better? It has a great beginning, but a sort of slow ending. In his report of Ocean Kingdom he said that the ending was crappy but the first half did have some forces and the transitions were "violent" so that must make it better than the others. Now I wonder if gatekeeper and FOTR are the only ones with those nasty vibrations and, if so, what causes them. Is it the fact they they are the fastest? And it's not like (at least on gatekeeper) your normal roughness, they just had these high-frequency vibrations that were probably made worse by the fact that the restraints glue you to your seat. I wonder what the cause is...
