  1. ^Hummmm.. Very nerdy..I like that!
  2. I pretty much like everything but maybe I would stand out, as a coaster type, inverts and floorless rides as I'm yet to ride one I didn't like. I don't know but, even if they aren't awesome, there is just something about those rides that makes them feel complete and do their job very well.
  3. ^I actually think Goudurix has a rather original layout, and the butterfly element does, in my opinion, have some potential it's just he coaster itself that (due to its roughness) is crappy.
  4. ^I hate it when the GP thinks that coasters in general aren't safe.
  5. Well, many people who are afraid of riding coaster close their eyes so, for them, that was great!
  6. Interesting thread, but just to make sure: is the question what is the inversion which the train enters at the highest speed (then it could be furius baco) or what is the inversion which is taken during the smallest period of time (Ispeed or some B&M invert corkscrews could be one)?
  7. Thunderhawk - Dorney
  8. ^So, like you said, it is only in an emergency. The coaster doesn't need to stop every time, they just have to make sure that, if it does, it will have enough speed to clear the rest of the course. I like when the trains flies through the MCBR with little or no braking, like dragon khan, for instance.
  9. ^I think they could have gone with 8, which would be the most of any ride in the US. But maybe CF is saving that for another future ride
  10. Mantis - CP
  11. ^Oh, really? I would expect the intamin one to be cheaper as they've built several and Mack hasn't.
  12. ^So maybe, as they love inversions, we could see a 400 ft tall loop after the top hat and have a ride with like 20 inversions! (when I say 20, I don't mean a couple of different inversions and them 15 heartline rolls like they did with colossus ) They will lose the record for tallest loop next year anyway.
  13. I'm not sure if the structure would hold itself if superman's track was removed and isn't the ride pretty popular? And I would also like to see the next tallest coaster have something more than a top hat and the optional big hill. Imagine a 500 ft tall intamin accelerator which would, after the top hat, be something like Skyrush, filled with insane ejector air!!
  14. Kingda Ka
  15. ^Well, the Florida one will mean Six Flags will lose their record so maybe then they will build one even taller SFMM doesn't have anything like an intamin accelerator coaster (although they already have two launched rides) so who knows?? (probably that would make superman redundant)
  16. ^But the premiers, although being 200 ft tall, are not exactly what you would call a hyper coaster, are they? I don't know if their 200 and something feet refer to the height of the spikes or the maximum height the trains reach but even if it is the trains, then not all the passengers will reach that height (only the front, or back). A bit like wicked twister which despite being the world's tallest inverted coaster (and fastest too) isn't advertised by CP as so. So those are not exactly what people mean by a hyper or giga looping coaster, right? The fact is that, according to rcdb, none of the top ten tallest coasters have inversions and it's been a very very long time since the world's tallest ride had any.
  17. ^So are they really going to build the world's tallest wooden coaster? Nice news. And I also think RMC or Intamin (as they have already built a woodie in Asia) are the ones who should do it otherwise it could end up being a Son of Beast 2!!! Ok, maybe that's a bit extreme.
  18. ^I have to admit I also feel that second half is kind of lacking, especially as there is no corkscrew (which is one of my favourite parts of an invert too, as well as a good snappy zero-g which the ride doesn't have either). But I'm assuming that the speed all the elements will be taken at and their sheer size could compensate that, hopefully.
  19. ^It does look kind of drawn out, I also noticed that. And yes, I do also find it a bit awkward that the park wanted Mack to do it.
  20. ^Well that I had no idea about! I'm very glad it was B&M as it is my favourite ride!
  21. Take on Me - A-ha
  22. ^That's very interesting, I had no idea! I would really like to see once and for all a giga coaster with inversions (actually the floorless model was what I thought of too). That could easily mean breaking the record for world's tallest loop (and inversion) and maybe number of inversions too!! By the way, you said that Mack will have the world's tallest inversion (and loop) but isn't gatekeeper's wing over drop the world's tallest one? (52 metres)
  23. I'm hoping that's their next step which, as I've already said, isn't that far from these restrains as all they have to do is remove the vests and move the bars to the side a bit, I think.
