  1. ^ I didn't realize how compact this ride would look. And twistyyyyy!!!
  2. Just watched reservoir dogs. I know it's not exactly new but it's a film I had been wanting to watch for a long time and overall enjoyed it. Definitely wasn't expecting that ending, but then it's Tarantino, so....
  3. Probably they decided they aren't needed and also given that these RMC's go upside down and have high banked turns it would be difficult to install them.
  4. ^Well that must have been quite nasty for him to say that...
  5. ^Holy crap! That is properly cold! I've never experienced anything like that! Here, in the winter, it rarely goes below -1 or -2 degrees Celsius.
  6. Just found this video of some testing action where you can sort of see most of the course. And I have to say, given that this is just still testing, I though it would carry less speed through those elements.
  7. ^That loop looks tight! (considering the drop) It probably pulled some nice Gs
  8. Great Adventure
  9. ^I was also thinking the same! That will be a pretty important week and, guess what: it will be THE ONLY week in the whole year when I probably won't have internet/computer access due to a school trip. Great.....
  10. I would still rather not have the orange (or whatever) looking track but, as to the wood/steel thing, I never had any doubts. Looking better and better!
  11. Oops! Anyway, I agree with the zero g: it truly is one of the best moments of the older inverts and it's a shame that they have done for the more drawn out one. I don't think Great Bear gets enough credit for it's unique layout. Agree with both of you: the zero g really is one of the fastest ones and even though it's not my favourite invert it's a very very solid ride with some nice forceful moments. I really liked the turn after the zero g as, while entering it, the train sort of goes down a bit giving a pop of air and the turn itself was pretty forceful. It's just that ending that, well... could be better (to say the least). P.S. I also love how loud the bear is!
  12. An el toro clone going to every park in the world! What would be better than that?
  13. ^I would've liked to see a good old corkscrew instead of the heartline roll. I think it would be much more exiting and contribute to a better pacing.
  14. Portaventura on the 11th next month: opening day! (which is kind of nasty really, if you consider it'll probably be packed ) Still, looking forward to my second visit.
  15. A very forceful B&M (like batman) What's better than intamin ejector air?
  16. Batman! I'm sure nobody had come up with this one
  17. Having ridden Montu today (and really enjoying the forces through the batwing), I don't know that Banshee will be going fast enough throughout the entire element for it to be anywhere near the same. Having said that, though...one of my favorite things at BGT is the Immelmann on SheiKra and how (in the back row and on the far right edge, at least) you get gentle floater air and also a gentle twist at the same time, really letting you enjoy the zero-g moment. I hope that if Banshee doesn't whip you around the tops of the batwing like Montu, it at least gives the same sort of twisty-floaty experience as what I encountered on SheiKra (and then takes you into massive positive G's at the bottom). I think that any light forces/zero g will not be felt the same way as they would be with the old restraints, like Sheikra. So I would like this to focus more on positive Gs, like older B&M inverts did.
  18. ^Oh, ok. I thought that they had just made the launch more powerful so that it carries more speed through the top to avoid stalling.
  19. ^Yeah this looks like one of the most elaborate stations I've ever seen!
  20. Interesting that you say this as I actually enjoyed nitro quite a bit more than shambhala precisely because I though the airtime was more consistent. I rode it for the first time in 2011 and thought it was awesome (even made me grey out slightly in the helix), then in July 2012 I rode shambhala and felt it was lacking some air compared to the first one but I still though I shouldn't make my mind just then as Nitro had been a relatively new experience to me the previous year (in terms of the king of ride). But then I rode nitro again last summer only to confirm that I do like it more than shambhala. And in roughly two weeks I'll be riding shambhala again so that there will be no doubts left whatsoever. The only thing that I like more about shambhala is the drop, with Nitro beating it with those last three hills and the drop out of the MCBR (shambhala has a nearly non existing second part), the helix and, even though still floater, I think the airtime is a bit stronger and more consistent.
  21. Nice pictures! How was the airtime on that hill after the drop? I know I mentioned that the back got the most but how was it overall? And what about positive Gs?
  22. ^It can get a bit unpleasant but I still think the fact that it is way more intense and (if you forget the roughness) awesome makes it better (to me) than shambhala. But, like said, I'll be going to portaventura in a few weeks and I'll re-check (and I wonder how those things they added to the restraints last year will affect it) and maybe shambhala will be running a bit better, who knows...
  23. I like that idea, I would be interested to see that. I have always wondered what is involved with a train rebuild. I think it would be neat to see a time lapse of one. I like the idea too. And perhaps if people got to see how much maintenance works and safety checks are done they could, like kenshinmac said, worry less about non existing issues.
  24. ^I still like most other FB's seats more than shambhala. But, well, I'll give it a new chance in a couple of weeks.
  25. I want to break free - Queen
