  1. A haunted house would be awesome. HW unofficially does have a tunnel of love, the dark long tunnel of Frightful Falls. If not a haunted house, at least some haooween theming in the tunnel to add a little bit of excitement.
  2. The more and more I think of it, the more it makes sense. They took the tower down for PP/Giraffica but they left the concrete trough in place. it would be cheaper to build a Mack water coaster since you have the main splashdown area, station, and return to station already in place. You would only need to build the coaster track part. I could easily see how they could still wind it up & over Hyena Falls and intertwine it with the Voyage. No long naming meeting here, you just bring back the Pilgrims Plunge name and you're all set to go.
  3. It'll be interesting to see how they do a whole Thanksgiving area expansion without cutting off Hyena Falls and the bumper boats from the rest of the waterpark. I always that was an odd placement for Hyena Falls.
  4. All of the Cedar Point team could go down and crash Kings Island coasting for kids event.
  5. Double agree, considering the shape of the park and that the coasters had trees growing up through the tracks and water slides not being winterized, I'm amazed at all the things Ed Hart & KK have accomplished in just 2 yrs time. The park is really nice and once they finish putting the final touches on everything and get things smoothed out, its going to be an awesome park and the not having to drive a hour in either direction is a very very big bonus!
  6. I'm thinking something similar to verbolten, especially after today's clue basically saying not all of the seasick were females and the children. It sounds like its going to be packing a powerful punch.
  7. Okay, you had me with this statement! Seriously though, the park looks great and I am glad to see that they were able to rehab. It looked so desolate and run down when I was down there for a convention two years ago. On another note, I found the concept of the one lazy river with no inner tubes to be intriguing. Is there a current that pulls you around the river and you just float/swim? Thanks for sharing, Chad...great report! The new river is an adventure river, its much much faster than the lazy river. They don't give out inter tubes but they do have foam boogie boards or foam noodles you can use or you can just float and the current will push you without anything. If you step out into the middle from the walk-in entrance it will push you off your feet if you are not careful.
  8. The reason for waterslides not opening till 4 is because today is the last day of school and most of the lifeguards are high school students, now that school will be out starting Monday, the water slides should be open all day with more available staff.
  9. I'm thinking so as well, and it'll be themed to an ocean voyage with a splashdown type affect using PP/Giraffaca remains.
  10. The pit could possibly be a dark section with a vertical drop maybe.
  11. My other complaint about yesterday was my youngest son couldn't go on Himalaya because the height minimum is 60". I've never seen a Himalaya with that tall of of a Height Requirement. I love those rides but no music, no lights, no backwards, and wasn't all that fast so made for a boring Himalaya ride. I'm hoping they get that fixed soon.
  12. the newly smoothed out & much improved Thunder Run, lets hope they add a 2nd train soon.
  13. We went for the first time as well and I had the same concerns about the dispatches but that should get better as ride ops get more experience. We spent most of the day with the kiddos in the water park and to me it seemed like they would wait for the previous rider or riders to clear the splash down pool before sending the next rider. I was scratching my head about the drop tower, it seems odd that they put the que on the backside and you have to go down a dead end path that doesn't look like anything would be back there since the entrance is farther down from the drop tower almost to Lightning Run. All in all I had fun and was impressed with the crowd and how well the park looks. I'm really excited and hopeful for the future of KK. I was very impressed with RMC's work on Thunder Run, I was able to keeep my hands up all around the circuit which was unheard of with the state that TR was in when Six Flags closed the park. I didn't get any rides on Lightning unfortunately since the kids were with us and I didn't want to stick the kids with my wife for 45 mins, sigh, there's always next time I guess... good thing we have season passes.. lol
  14. I was there earlier today with my son's field trip and after the rained stopped and all the rides opened I got to ride all 3 coasters. I was very impressed that all 3 were smooth rides all in the front seat. I was totally blown away by Legend, I came off it with no aches, bruises, or sore neck. I couldn't believe I got off Legend feeling pretty fine... My question is the lights in the tunnels on Legend have they always been there and I just haven't noticed? The lights were turned on when I rode and I was like wow, why lights in tunnels?
  15. My wife and I couldn't be there this year since the school year got extended but I just donated $25 to Doug on Kings Island's team. TPR is rocking it this year and I'm blown away at how much has been raised and makes me proud to say I'm a Club TPR member, you guys rock!!
  16. Don't forget the most important clue, drawings of Mayflowers (the flower not the ship) it's going to be themed to plants... lol
  17. Unfortunately I won't be there for Holiwood nights due to other commitments but I will be there all day Friday with my youngest son's field trip. It'll be interesting never volunteered to be a chaperon on a field trip before.
  18. Looking at that overhead view to me it sure looks like it could be a possible Aquatrax layout. The reason I say this is not much room back in that corner for a big que so I'm thinking its going to be the Giraffica/PP station, the first hill is going to dive over top of the rollout out of Voyages 2nd hill and curve around back to the station. It'll either go out or come in between Hyena Falls and Voyage given the survey markers. I don't see them circling Hyena Falls and now the kiddie bumper boats and then deciding oh, we will just circle both in with the Thanksgiving expansion. An Aquatrax ride would fill the void left from Giraffica and still be accessible from the water park side and the amusement park side. Just speculating but this seems the most logical.
  19. He was talking about the footer plan, coasterradio has written a blog about it and they're the ones that put the shredded packing paper back together.
  20. Why are you so persistent about a floorless??? Have you even ridden a Floorless? They aren't that appealing to begin with. Having ridden Hydra (Allentown is closer than Orlando) and Kraken, they are nothing to write to home about. B&M is just unrealistic for Holiday World's market. I also do not want a B&M to begin with. Having ridden Manta, I put my money on Mack. One more thing, as much as I would like this to be intense and thrilling, HW needs an in-between coaster to fill the gap from the Howler to the Raven. Needless to say, that doesn't mean it can't be awesome! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that feels this way, a good intermediate is exactly what HW needs, when little ones outgrow the Howler the Raven can be kind of intense for a bigger coaster for a young child.
  21. If I remember right didn't the Holiblog initially say its going to be a $13.1 million dollar project? I'm thinking probably about the size of The Legend possibly which would fit that money figure.
