^ The airtime on it back then was...well, killer... Eric -
Fantastic update, Jahan. As I've said many times, as a SFMM fan (even though I do make fun of it at times) from its first year, I think it's great to see Six Flags making a very decent effort to restore the park to its former glory. And I do like the museum-in-the-sky thing in the Sky Tower. (It would be nice to glass in the lower level and reopen it.) Keep up the great work, Jahan. I really enjoy reading these. Eric

^ Colossus in '77? You rode it before it was done? How? OK, I'm giving you a hard time...surely you meant "1978." And it was indeed quite a ride in its first season. Too bad it had to be reprofiled. Eric -
^ No more gas shortage... Eric

Six Flags Season Pass 1 day sale!
ebl replied to KGA29's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I usually get the Extreme Play Pass at SFMM, which is not included in this deal. Diana gets the regular one and I may do this (it expires tomorrow at noon, FYI). I would think that you could purchase online and take a voucher to the park to save shipping. When I get a moment, I'll have to look into it. Eric -

I have a copy of The Roller Coaster Almanac somewhere around the house. It's indeed a piece of history. Thanks again for continuing to share your stuff, Shane. For me, a Magic Mountain visitor since Year One, it's truly a trip down Memory Lane. Eric -
Today I got a junk text message on my phone. I hope this isn't going to become a problem, and I hope that I don't start getting telemarketers calling, either. Recently, I added my cell phone to the national Do Not Call list, so that'll do the trick...I hope... Eric

I got to pet a lion cub last night. And today, our waitress at Islands gave us drink refills in paper cups so we could take them home. Eric

Because you need to take more showers! Why doesn't Splenda come in fruit flavors? -
"Time to kick him to the curb." (moinab) Yeah! Let the street cleaner get him... My sister is the single mother of a 13-year-old autistic son. She does indeed have her work cut out for her---and for that, I have to give her a lot of credit for working with him. I don't know if Michael is subjected to any teasing at school, though---Barbara hasn't said. But I think he's in special classes, so he's somewhat shielded from that. I was lucky that we were taught to be considerate to others when we were growing up, and we've continued that tradition with Diana. Eric

I learned long ago that kids often teased when they were in fact envious. Some kids when I was growing up didn't have both a mom and dad (separated, divorced, etc.). I did and sometimes caught crap because I had a "complete" family. Your son brings his lunch. That shows that Mom has time for him, and that can make some kids jealous, too. Some kids can be flat out mean. It's a good idea to keep in touch with your son's teacher to keep this in check. Eric

Because they couldn't decide what to call them. Jupiterians? Jupiterlings? Jupiterites? None of those sound right... Why can't they make just one grade of gasoline that all cars can use? -
I can't finish what I haven't even started. Do you like your cell phone?
