No, they're apples with a bad attitude! How many pounds of rust are there in the Pile of Metal Formerly Known as Flashback? -
Galloping Goose #3 at Knott's
ebl replied to ahecht's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As a longtime railfan, I'm ashamed to say that I have never ridden the Galloping Goose. Maybe sometime if I get myself down to Knott's during the week, I can catch a ride on it. Every time I go to Knott's, I do see it parked---just not operating. Eric -
It's been quite awhile---so long, in fact, that I can't remember. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge?

^ Do two things: 1. Pull the trigger. 2. Remember that there is no "s" on the end of "anyway." [/grammar lesson] Why does dark chocolate come in percentages nowadays? -
^ I don't believe we have Steak n Shakes in California---if so, I've never run across one. What they have looks good, though. I'm enjoying your Photo TRs, Louise. Interesting and entertaining. Eric

^ There is a definite difference between the earlier weight-drop models and the later flywheel ones. In my own experience, I find the flywheel launch to be a bit quicker. Of course, on those, the trains aren't braked on their way back through the station as the weight-drop ones were. Also, if you notice, there's a slightly longer stretch of straight track behind the station leading to the back hill---perhaps that's one reason why trains aren't braked there. Eric -
Here in Ventura County, it's pretty cold, wet, and windy outside. The storm is here, ladies and gentlemen... Eric

It's cold, wet, and windy outside, and warm, dry, and calm inside. I'm inside and don't have to go anywhere tonight. Eric

Just an interesting note: Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's is the only Schwarzkopf shuttle in the U.S. that still operates in its original location---30 years this year, in fact. I don't know about ones in Europe or Asia. Eric -
We bought a 19" one for our bedroom about six years ago. When was the last time you bought a car?

No, I've only been to one other country---Mexico. Someday... Do you keep a stapler and a tape dispenser handy on your desk?

When you stop and think about it, how many different colors would fit the theme of the Pony Express? Yeah, we all joke about Cedar Fair and their...interesting color schemes. Honestly, I think this ride will look fine. You certainly wouldn't want a bright green and purple coaster out in the middle of the Old West, would you? Eric

"Not sure what it has to do with the Bat ride but there ya go..." (PURE) Nothing, except for the fact that X and The Bat were both Arrow creations. Eric -

Yeah, the airtime on Turn of the Century was...intense. I was sorry to see them modify it. I think the only other comparable airtime in those days was pre-accident Colossus at MM (before Six Flags). Eric -

^^ Knott's has a Screamin' Swing, and it is an upcharge ride there. I do know that at least one park has one, but it's a high-capacity version, so it was added as a regular ride. I either read or someone told me that Skycoasters, Screamin' Swings, Thrill Shots, etc. end up being upcharge rides because they don't have the capacity of regular flat rides or coasters. Perhaps someone else here can explain that better. Eric

^^ Try Pepsi and Baja Blast mixed the next time you go to Taco Bell. ^ No, I don't. Don't plan to, either. Do you like fish and chips?
