^ Maybe that was "1970s adults." Remember, everything's bigger nowadays... Eric -
As old fashioned as it may seem, using rollers and brushes is the most efficient way to paint a coaster. New coaster track/supports may arrive already painted, but that's because they were painted in an enclosed, environmentally controlled area. But, having seen it in person with my own two eyes, X2 is getting its paint job with brushes and rollers. Eric

GuruGuy, I read your post and can really feel for you. I've been drawing a rather simple, but much appreciated comic strip for many years. A number of friends and family members have suggested that I publish the strip. After reading some of the horror stories that go along with that, I've decided to keep the strip as a fun hobby and treat for those close to me. It's always a great thing to turn something you enjoy doing into a career, but as you've said, GG, it becomes your job and you can get burned out or screwed by others in the industry. From what I've heard, those who draw comic strips are all but owned by the distribution syndicates. A few have made it big---Charles Schulz (Peanuts), Jim Davis (Garfield), and Scott Adams (Dilbert). But those are few and far between. Eric

Because you ate too many French fries. Why are there skunks? -
I've been wanting to visit Hearst Castle for years, but for some reason, just haven't gotten around to it. And I'm only a few hours down the coast from it! Nice TR...glad you all had a good time! Eric

After seeing the Chance catalog here, I realized that I've been on more Chance rides than I previously thought. Some years back, Chance acquired Morgan's assets, including their coaster designs. Interesting how there've been few---or any---"Morgan" coasters built since. Eric -

The trouble with dealing with marionettes is that they come with so many strings attached. Why are bananas yellow? -

"Now, drive through that dip at full speed---don't even slow down," the salesman said. [drives through dip, car doesn't even flinch] It was like the dip wasn't even there. ---From my test drive of the 2008 Land Rover LR2 last spring. Eric

DVD Release Party & SFMM Event! Jan 19th
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yesterday was great fun. And to think I almost decided not to attend. If everything Jay and Tim told us was true, then SFMM will become "the place to go" instead of "the place you go instead of." SFMM wasn't crowded at all (heck, I even got a solo ride on Superman--The Escape). I didn't ride much, but I didn't go to ride---I can ride anytime because I have a season pass. I went for the behind the scenes tour and Q&A with management. And I'm glad I did. Thank you to Robb, Elissa, and Kristen for their hospitality. (Special thanks to Kristen for letting me hold her!) I will enjoy my piece of Flashback track for many more years than the ride actually stood at SFMM!!! Glad to see it "rusting in pieces." It shall never again harm another soul. Good food, good times, good friends, good fun. Eric -
Lou, does it ever freak you out to be riding on the "wrong" side of the road when you're here in the U.S.? And did you ride the trolley when you went to The Grove shopping center? Eric

This was indeed a great day. I almost decided not to come, but I'm glad I did. The behind the scenes tour was better than I'd pictured it, the weather was perfect, and the crowds were relatively thin (I even got a solo ride on Superman!). Food at the park and party was great. And I got to take home both a slice of a Flashback wheel and track section. This year, I ought to make an effort to get to West Coast Bash. Eric -

Sorry, but the Constitution says that he can only be re-electamated once. Why do they sell maps to the stars? You certainly can't drive there... -
Keep in mind, too, that rides can close on the spur of the moment for any reason. Eric
-
No, because if there's nothing on TV, I watch the OFF Channel. Have you ever driven a kid to the movies?

Diabetic, I B. Why don't they use chains to lift elevators instead of cables?
