  1. ^ I think the park spent too much money on roller coasters. What a shame that a big theme park/shopping/entertainment complex didn't come about there. It would have been beyond a gold mine. Eric
  2. "(DO) Look in the bottom of Viper's (SFMM) trains for spare change." (Goliath513) One time at SFMM, I found $2 in quarters on Colossus. They were all on the floor of the car. Interesting... Eric
  3. I wonder when we'll see "California" taken off of these signs! Eric
  4. Maybe it's just me, but "iTouch" just sounds...wrong. Eric
  5. ^ Easy...sugar-free Oreos! Eric
  6. On the right day, I've gone after 4pm to take advantage of the $25 admission and gotten everything done. Eric
  7. "I'm not sure I really understand why people keep having a negative opinion because the trains and the paint job 'looks like Eejanaika'." (Robb) It's the very same people who don't realize that not everyone in the world has every coaster fact commited to memory. And the same ones who complain about "clones." X2 looks mean---as it should have looked from the beginning. All I care about is that the ride is smooth. Eric
  8. I did vote, but only for the state propositions because I'm registered as a non-partisan and candidates don't appear on my ballot. Eric
  9. As souvenirs go, I get a park map. I don't need a pen, stuffed animal, etc. from a park that I will visit many times, or that can be found elsewhere with a different park's name, but otherwise exactly the same. Smashed pennies/quarters are nice, inexpensive souvenirs and can make a nice collection over time. Eric
  10. At one time, I think they were trying to make SFMM into a "destination thrill park," if you consider nothing but coasters to be the "thrill" they were after. If somehow, the entire complex of SFMM and SFHH were to add a decent shopping district---a la Downtown Disney---and a premium on-site hotel or two, then the property could be considered a "destination." For a long time, many of us dreamed that the land between the toll plaza, Magic Mountain Parkway, and The Old Road would somehow tie into Six Flags California, but that doesn't appear to be the case as far as I can tell. And even though the big sign next to I-5 still says "Six Flags California," I find it interesting that they removed the word "California" from the sign right over the entrance to SFMM. Eric
  11. Knott's is $25 after 4pm. If you go during the summer, you'll still have plenty of time to ride. SFMM has online deals. The website will tell you more. Many parks have such discounts on their website. If possible, eat a good size meal before going to the park (and you'll get better food anyway in many cases). Eric
  12. ^ I talk on my phone plenty and charge it about once a week. You will wear out the battery keeping it on the charger all the time or charging it every day. (My wife and Diana have battery problems all the time---my phone is three years old and the battery still holds its original charge!) Eric
  13. Ladies and gentlemen...we have Verizon FiOS at our house now. That's fiber optic phone/Internet/TV. Lightning fast, too. Eric
  14. Interesting. That's the exact color scheme of the original Revolution trains at SFMM. Eric
  15. ^ Be sure and feed him some hot wings first---that'll assure the most toxic sample! Eric
  16. I had some almonds, peanuts, and cashews today. Unfortunately, I lost count. Eric

    Llama?

Dare we even think about alpacas? Eric
  18. ^ Ah, the 51st State. I think they're getting a State Quarter, believe it or not. That program was supposed to end this year, but they added Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and a couple of others for 2009. Eric
  19. I have a Busch Gardens map or two from the Van Nuys park. All I have to do is dig 'em out, get 'em scanned, and posted here. See, once you approach 50, you need that occasional kick in the head to remind you. Eric
  20. The red paint job on Viper looks sharp, but I think they should have repainted it in its original deep orange. There's too much red at SFMM. Now, I do like red, but... Eric
  21. I got a lead on a tech writing job a mile from home! Eric
  22. I need to save my money and join all of you on a trip sometime. Preferably to Japan if for nothing else its WTF?!?-ness. Eric
  23. Original Colossus was to die for---or die from as one unfortunate soul found out... But it was pretty violent back then, too. Great ejector air, but quite rough. Eric
  24. ^ I don't think you'd enjoy being thrown forward when the car launched. SFMM needs a good Ferris wheel and a real train ride of some sort. Eric
  25. ^ Freefall is still a flat ride---it's just been flattened even further! Eric
