  1. ^ No doubt a Screamin' Swing would fit there, but I don't think SFMM is interested in adding anything like that in their current quest to become family friendly. Also, their upcharge rides are all clustered together over in Cyclone Bay---at least for now. Eric
  2. Yes. Have you ever mixed two or more different kinds of soda in the same cup?
  3. ^ Young 'un. < Old 'un. V Strange 'un!
  4. As one who's visited the park each and every year since Year One (1971), I will confirm that the entrance is where it's always been, though with a few modifications. The big gates are original, but the ticket booths were past there at one time. Hurricane Harbor was once Mystic Lake (1983-1994), but before that was parking. With that in mind, we now know that coasters aren't the only thing that Six Flags puts in parking lots! Flashback sat on almost the same spot as a Schwarzkopf Wildcat called Mountain Express did from 1973-1982. I agree with Robb that a Hurricane Harbor expansion is what that area will be used for. To me it just makes sense. Without that rattletrap coaster there, HH lifeguards won't have any problem anymore. Eric
  5. ^ Do you really want to know...? Eric
  6. No thanks, but it's a cool idea. Should I spend an afternoon at my kitchen window watching trains go by?
  7. It's late Tuesday afternoon here, but Happy New Year to everyone at TPR. All the best to all of you in health, work, play, and...NEW CREDITS!!! Eric
  8. ^ Be sure you stop at the Biltmore for your free croissant first. Eric
  9. I'd answer, but I don't speak Iconese. What's the best time of the day to feed a dog?
  10. "I'm on the road to being recycled into new Chevy Cobalts." Fixed. Eric
  11. Earlier, I went to Jack in the Box for lunch. They were short handed so getting food took an eternity, but it didn't help that they were still playing Christmas music. Wasn't Christmas last week? Eric
  12. Time to eat! It's Feed the Diabetic Time! Now!!! Eric
  13. Probably in the '80s sometime. See, I'm not really a fan... When was the last time you were at the beach?
  14. Shane, I have copies of what you've just posted about Magic Mountain somewhere around here. As one who went out there many times in my youth, this is bringing back the memories of what a fun place it was then! Eric EDIT: I forgot to mention this: In the lower left of this picture, you can see two separate aerial tramways sharing the same support. That just looks bizarre. I know other parks have had more than one such line (even Magic Mountain had two at one time), but I've never seen any that cross each other.
  15. For now, I'll just pick on SFMM... They've already taken down the two worst coasters in the park, so they're off on the right track. As someone mentioned previously, the park can use another good sitdown restaurant. The old Laughing Dragon is perfect for a good Japanese teppan grill restaurant (think "Benihana"). And, yes, some more and better food choices throughout the park as well. Keep up the painting and cleaning up. Get Metro running again, or replace it. The park really does need an alternative to walking as to getting around. That's it for now. Eric
  16. "I think Robb and Elissa know that 90% of forum members like small boys in tights" (CTU Agent) Thankfully, I'm in the 10% who doesn't. Eric
  17. No thanks, I don't smoke. How much Diet Coke can I drink in one day?
  18. ^ Has fiber in his name. < Has fiber in his diet. V Has fiber on his brain!
  19. Nice Photo TR. Thanks for being one to agree with me that Silver Bullet is a fun ride. It does lack the intensity of Top Gun and Batman, but it is in no way "wussy." I get some good airtime on it between the two corkscrews and in the overbanked turn. I have yet to ride Perilous Plunge. I really have no desire to do so, either. Eric
  20. ^ That's why I'm happy about where I live. Our back yard backs right up to a state highway, and right across the street is one track with a siding. That way, I get a front row seat for lots of rail action! You think it'd be pretty noisy, but after awhile (we've been here 9-1/2 years), you get used to it. Eric
  21. She needed someone to chew the cans with. Today, Diana drove us to the mall, but why did I have to drive her car home?
  22. ^ I would guess the exit unless they split the entrance ramp into two sections. But Flash Pass still doesn't make sense for Gold Rusher---or for Scream! for that matter. The only rides I use it on are Tatsu, Batman, and Goliath. Eric
  23. Looks like a fun ride---day or night. I got a kick out of the "Haunted House" sign. It looked like they asked a random tagger to paint it on there! Eric
  24. All of you who are harping about Six Flags' ride names seem to forget that: Four Disney parks have rides called Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Five Disney parks have rides called Space Mountain. Three Disney parks have rides called Splash Mountain. The only people I ever see complaining about this are coaster geeks and credit whores! I'll bet that if some random Six Flags park didn't have a Batman--The Ride, for instance, a lot of people visiting would wonder, "Where is Batman?" See, these rides have become trademarks of the parks. When the average person/family visits a Six Flags or a (former) Paramount park, they expect certain rides to be there. As I've said many times, reusing names, artwork, ride designs saves money and increases profit---the main reason the park is in business. Parks are in business to make money, not satisfy enthusiasts. Eric
  25. ^ Keep that up and your next gift from Santa will be diabetes! I got a nice, thick down comforter on the bed, and it keeps me nice and toasty warm---a good thing since it's been pretty cold. Eric
