  1. I finally rode the Star Flyer yesterday! Actually, it was the Sky Flyer---about a third of the height its big brother, the Star Flyer---but it was fun anyway at 112 feet up. I can just imagine being 300 feet up doing that! Eric
  2. If they're left unfinished, then anyone listening can end them in any way they wish. It's a free, fun, and wholesome activity. Why does so much stuff from China have lead in it?
  3. I worked as a paperboy in 1970 at age 11. It was hard work throwing those newspapers (carved in stone, as I recall), but I did work a couple of hours a day and made some money. My daughter started working last year at age 17, but, as Larry said, she could not work beyond four hours a day (here in CA, at least). Now, she's 18, has a car, graduated from high school, and can work 40+ hours depending on the job she has. Good luck to you on earning money to take your trip, Matthew. Also, I agree to start off small---one park, then more from there. I admire the work ethic you have, which, unfortunately, too many don't have. Eric
  4. ^ Honestly, I don't think that's going to happen. SFMM has too much potential to close off areas. "The GP doesn't care if there are clones." (pacoasterrider) Unless you're a die-hard credit counter, I don't see why anyone would care. If it's a good ride, make more of 'em. Eric
  5. Since I have the Xtreme Play Pass, I get four free tickets on every visit. That pass is so worth it if you visit SFMM often. Anyway, I usually use mine on Tatsu, Riddler, and Goliath (sometimes Batman, too). Other rides either don't take them, or the regular line isn't that bad. Just my opinion, though. Eric
  6. I honestly don't care if we get an Evel Knievel clone (though not expecting that). If it's a good ride, then bring it on here at SFMM. No one in this area will have a clue that another one exists elsewhere. The GP couldn't care less about that. Eric
  7. Mispell. Eric
  8. ^ Joined on Leap Year Day. < Has lived through 13 Leap Year Days. V Bathes only on Leap Year Days!
  9. Also, as I've said, I don't believe the ground is stable enough in that area for another coaster (so I've been told). Knott's keeps surprising me with room for their coasters; I'm sure SFMM will squeeze one in somewhere besides the old Psyclone graveyard. Remember, too, that with Freefall gone, there are possibilities around there, too. Eric
  10. ^ It's more or less like FastPass at Disney, only at SFMM you have to buy them. Many rides have a FlashPass entrance, and you just go in there and the attendant will take one ticket for each rider, then send you over to join the regular line. Simple, huh? Eric
  11. ^ You should wear your birthday suit more often. The ladies could use some more comic relief... Eric
  12. I just noticed that Wes dropped the "41190" off of his screen name. That's OK...that ZIP code didn't fit him anyway. Eric
  13. Because the dog can get to you easier and lay on you. Why do we use blue or black ink for everyday writing, and not yellow or green?
  14. "Finally I gave up and started to track all of my new coasters on a spreadsheet." (packfanlv) I've always used a simple Excel spreadsheet. It's the easiest way and you can add columns for statistics, ratings, etc. This ride looks like a lot of fun. It looks like something I'd count as a coaster, being on a track and all, and not apparently assisted by any means of power other than gravity. Just curious...how many cars are hooked together, and are both tracks identical? Eric
  15. Not a "bit" too old---way too old! Do you remember the last person's hand you shook?
  16. Just want to close this out by noting that whatever was causing this problem has been weeded out by AdAware. All is well now. Eric
  17. ^ He just wants to look sharp. Eric
  18. If you play a guitar, you're a guitarist. If you play piano, you're a pianist. Play drums? A drummer. So what would you call someone who plays a pretty mean stick on a picket fence? Eric
  19. Behind the broom. Why is it that only AMF and Brunswick manufacture equipment for bowling alleys, and not anyone else (that I know of)?
  20. They'll discover that you can get some good, low friction fun out of sliding down hills of ice. It worked when I was a kid. Eric
  21. Pogs. Who decided that bubblegum should be pink?
  22. You know those Japanese breadstick thingies called Pocky? The ones with the chocolate or strawberry coating on the end? Now they have two new flavors---Blueberry and Hazelnut. We got a box of each, and they're very good! Eric
  23. Actually I have, but it's been years. Have you ever stapled your finger?
  24. For whatever reason, I just remembered that I've never owned a guitar. Of course, not being able to play one might have something to do with it... Eric
  25. Last Friday, I made my coworker almost cry from laughing so hard. And our office was so full of chairs that I put a sign on the outside of the door reading, "Welcome to Chairs R Us...Come on in, take a seat..." More laughs from other co-workers, and kinda made my day. Eric
