  1. There you go, all fixed for you; I updated it: "Success Your edit to Bigfoot Rapids has been published. See your change. Note that some changes might take up to 24 hours before appearing on Google. Thank you for improving Google Maps! Your insights make it a better, more useful map for everyone. Bigfoot Rapids 8039 Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, California, United States Your edit Place is open Edited on Oct 25, 2016 · Published Thanks for your help, The Google Maps team"
  2. The problem is that SeaWorld, Legoland, Disneyland, DCA and Universal don't build the big coaster either and Magic Mountain has been on a slow run lately too. It is like when the arcades / pizza places decided they didn't want teenagers and replaced the pinball and video games with those prize ticket machines and kiddie rides. Everyone wants a family park because Disney got rich that way.
  3. I took the photos of Ghostrider at approx 12:30 pm and 1 pm. I ran over to Ghostrider at opening but there was a 3 train wait for the first half-hour and it was busier then.
  4. I took the photos of Ghostrider at approx 12:30 pm and 1 pm. I ran over to Ghostrider at opening but there was a 3 train wait for the first half-hour and it was busier then.
  5. Went to Knott's on Friday, September 30th from 10 - 1pm. I finally got a ride on the Galloping Goose, about 10 rides on Ghostrider and a few rides on Silver Bullet and Xcelerator. Ghostrider has some dead time during the week. Galloping Goose waiting for passengers Getting robbed before we even leave Dashboard No wait for Ghostrider! Mostly empty station
  6. The one I worked on at Disneyland. Taking a trip with my family around Disneyland in Lilly Belle train car circa 1990.
  7. I could see through the floor that they were working on the second train. I just checked the Knott's app today and the wait for Ghostrider is 5 min so they must have second train on now. I wouldn't want to be there on a weekend with one train operation though. Hopefully, they can keep two trains running most of the time.
  8. They should keep the RMC thing going. Call it "Rolly Mac Coaster- less meandering, more thrills".
  9. I went to Knott's on Thursday, Sept 22nd for approx 3 hours from 10 am - 1 pm. Everything was a walk-on except for Ghostrider and that took half hour. I timed Ghostrider dispatches with one train operation between 5 1/2 - 7 minutes. This means even a 5 train wait is a half-hour hour wait with only one-train running. I guess they had to have a line somewhere in the park.
  10. If push the button the demon came out her eat you soul I was hoping her top fell off but then I remembered it was a rotting corpse so what is the difference. Sorry to hear about your soul. You are probably wishing it was a topless gag now too, huh? Eh, anyway, souls are cheap
  11. I am dying to know what the button next to the dead chick does. Nice pictures and great report.
  12. Awesome report. They sold bricks with people's names on them when they re-did the entrance area. Anyone could purchase one. Glad you liked our parks. Between Disneyland, DCA, Knott's, SFMM and Universal; you can see why the locals are poor from buying all those annual passes
  13. According to Jimbo, Ned got the Purple Heart for his courageous defense of the log ride in Vietnam. I din't see a log ride or Devil's Drop Roller Coaster. Is this the right park?
  14. At Portillo's it is all about the combo sausage, Italian beef and hot peppers sandwich. The Habbit has the best burgers out here now but The Hat is close. Both have awesome fries and onion rings. Did we just jack the thread with food talk? Sorry!
  15. Darn, went to Knott's Thur, 9/8 to hopefully have a short wait for Ghostrider but it was closed. Heard a bunch of power tools out in the track area but couldn't tell what they were repairing. The rest of the park was pretty dead. Most of the coasters were being dispatched with empty rows because there weren't enough people in the station to fill them up. I was able to ride Silver Bullet 6 times, Xcelerator 3 times, La Revolution 2 times and one each on Supreme Scream, Log Ride, and Sierra Sidewinder in under 2 hours. Weekdays in September and October and the best time to be there as long as Ghostrider is running.
  16. Yom Kippur is a Jewish holiday and park can get crowded.
  17. "obviously, and I get water cups, it's just one of those things where it's like.. just add a few more dollars to the dining pass price if needed and include a drink. make it a true "meal". I don't know and it's no biggie, I don't want to whine too much about it." I was wondering if people would pay $100 to $200 more per year on the pass for lounge access. Build a couple of airport type lounges with AC, couches, Samsung Tabs to sign out and get a free cup of coffee, soft drink, churro and other free snacks from a buffet area. Or $1,000 for a premium pass with meals, lounge access and the best available Flash Pass at the time of your visit possibly with limits to the number of days you can get a Flash Pass.
  18. losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015/06/12/child-airlifted-to-hospital-from-magic-mountain-unknown-if-ride-related/ "Alex Galvez, a park visitor, who says he saw a medical helicopter landing yards from the park entrance and knew there was an emergency." Helicopters must be able to land near the park entrance per this news article. I would think an open grassy field or clearing would work as long as it as free of people. Security probably secures an area closest to where they need the transport and have pilots land there.

  20. That was a very cool trip report and video. It gave a complete view of the park.
  21. I checked Google Maps and found the other two pumps that I couldn't see on the other side. The image isn't that great but it seams to support that one pump off is normal. I guess I will ask next time if there is something that makes you get wetter in the summer.
  22. Do Intamin round rapids boat rides have a high and low setting for getting you wetter on hot days? I rode Bigfoot Rapids at Knott's on April 26th, a cool day and again on August 26th, that was warmer. On April 26th, I was hesitant to ride because it was colder but the seats looked dry in the raft so I chanced it. I think during the entire ride that water splashed over the side twice and all three guests were relatively dry. On August 26th, the summer day, water splashed over the edge most of the ride and all three of us had wet shorts and shorts. We didn't hit any geysers or waterfalls during the ride but the rapids splashed more water into the boat in August. I thought we had low raft pressure and we were riding low until I noticed that everyone getting off the ride was wet. When I walked up the exit ramp, I noticed only half the pumps were running as water was only coming out of one of the outlet pipes. For some reason, I had an early picture from April and both of the outlet pipes had water coming out of them. It would seam that the lower water lever from running one pump during the summer would make the rapids more turbulent from the submerged fake logs / pipes. If the water was higher, the rafts could glide better over the top without tipping as much. Is this intentional to make the ride splashier or does Knott's just run it with one pump down sometimes? April 26th, water outlet pipes of Bigfoot Rapids August 26th, with one pump off
  23. I found this on google news that Disney has a new patent to possibly turn light sabers into weapons for attractions. It would be cool to have a Return of the Jedi Speeder Bike ride where you swing at Storm Troopers as they approach your bike trying to knock them off. newatlas.com/disney-lightsaber-patent/45028/
  24. For me, it is the restraint changes. I like the feeling of lifting out of the seat slightly like I do on Xcelerator or Supreme Scream and you need a little thigh gap between your leg and restraint to feel it. The restraints on Ghostrider are not uncomfortable, but they do keep you pressed tightly in your seat so I feel no lifting out of the seat on the hills. The restraint doesn't lock and constantly weighs against your thighs holding you down.
  25. It is in the area that they want to expand. My guess is that if you are going to pay for the cost of moving it; you might as well move it to a different park and call it a "new ride".
