That is not a bad capacity for a flat ride but 360 riders per hour for one of their most popular coasters is kind of rough. With two train operation, Ghost Rider appears to average with no loading issues approx.. 4 minutes and 10 seconds per dispatch. That is 250 seconds per dispatch average time (4 x 60 + 10). 3600 seconds per hour divided by 250 seconds per dispatch equals 14.4 dispatches per hour with 24 person maximum per train capacity equals 345.6 capacity per hour. Compared with Silver Bullet that appears to average 120 seconds per dispatch with two trains operations equals 3600 / 120 = 30 dispatches per hour with 32 per train capacity equals 960 capacity per hour.

I never felt unsafe on the rides and they did appear maintained and ran well. I imagine rough Denver weather eats up the facades and low attendance doesn't leave a lot of money in the capital improvement budget for improvements or non-essential repairs. This park really does have a lot to offer for the price from child to adult. They let you bring a picnic and carry around your own non-alcoholic drinks. Probably best if you skip the food anyway. The park really feels like a time warp to the 1980s or 1990s. The only way you can tell it is a more recent decade while in the park is guests and their cell phone cameras. The rest of the place is classic.

Thanks, it was the best $17 I spent on the trip. They wanted like $84 for a day pass for the Breckenridge mountain coaster and other attractions and I skipped it. I also didn't do a good job explaining a Rock O Plane. It is basically a Ferris Wheel and Top Spin combined in one. You are belted tight and there is a cage over the car. The cars go around like a Ferris Wheel but you have a brake lever in your car so you can stop the rotation. You can ride all the way around facing outward if you want to. You just lock the brake at the desired rotation and let go when you want to release. You can get a good flip or two on every rotation if you lock at the bottom and release at the top when you are upside down.

I visited family in Denver about a week ago and visited Lakeside Amusement Park on a Thursday evening for approx. 3 hours. The park was not too busy with less than 10 minute lines for everything but the Wild Chipmunk and Cyclone coasters that were closer to 20 - 30 minutes in length. Here are my thoughts on the rides and park. 1. Cyclone wooden coaster is still in good condition and I had no bumps or bruises after riding. I easily could have ridden another 10 times but my family wanted to move on the to the other attractions and get out of there. 2. Wild Chipmunk wild mouse coaster. The only other two wild mouse coasters I have ridden recently are the Mack coasters at DCA and Knott's. This blows them out of the water. Uncontrolled full speed turns with the car leaning to the side through violent drops with what appears to be no braking until the end of the ride places Wild Chipmunk as the best wild mouse I have ridden. 3. Their drop tower was short but excellent. I was commenting to people next to me that Magic Mountain's was like three times as tall. I just don't remember flying three inches out of my seat on the Magic Mountain version and feeling like I had to grab on the save my life. The belt kept me in but this just felt more thrilling. This is a good drop tower for extreme air. It is short air but sweet air. 4. The classic whip ride is great and was operating at a good enough speed that you actually whipped out at the edge of the track. It felt thrilling like an early scrambler attraction. 5. The classic Eyerly Rock O Plane was operating normally but the Roll O Plane was lying on the ground in pieces. 6. We also went on the Ferris Wheel, go carts, bumper cars, Himalaya, Tilt-O-Whirl, flying Dutchman, Hear Flip, scrambler and the Rocketship. These rides are pretty standard and don't need much comment. 7. They have a small train ride that goes around something they call a lake. We had ridden it before and didn't go again. We also skipped the bumper boats, round up, and kids rides. The Dragon Coaster, Monster, kite flyer and Roll O Plane had all broken since my last visit two years ago. My food recommendation is don't eat it unless you think 7-11 has good food. They do know how to heat frozen pizza, stick hot dogs in the microwave or hot water, and pop popcorn. There are bottled soft drinks and water but you can bring your own drinks in and we purchased water before we got there. There are an abandoned and rotting old racetrack grandstand, Ferris Wheel type attraction and other features at the park that give this place a haunted Scooby Doo or Silent Hill feel to it. It is definitively worth a trip if you are in the Denver area of Colorado. There is a Rock O Plane in the background Ferris Wheel at dusk Where do I board this contraption? Wild Chipmunk brakeman Wild Chipmunk Wild Chipmunk Rocketjets It might be closed Scrambler and part of Cyclone This used to light up all pretty like Ceiling at bumper boats has seen better days Flying Dutchman Dragon Coaster is closed Whip ride was fast and exciting Ferris Wheel at night killer air for a drop ride Roll O Plane is broken

I've never know a park to have any control over web boards. Parks can contact the boards to have information removed if it is leaked information from an employee covered under any type of confidentiality agreement. Or you can get a nice letter from their attorney's office about removing any confidential information.

This one crossed my mind as well, but the Gerstlauer Infinity rumor just keeps getting stronger, and when a rumor hangs around for this long without dying (like the SFMM Dive coaster rumor has), there is probably some merit to it. The original rumor several months ago that got pulled from a couple of boards said Boomerang would be replaced by a dive coaster but it never mentioned B&M. I wonder if Gerstlauer Infinity or Intamin created a new pause element at the top for their own dive coaster and the original rumor was true. I just assumed dive coaster meant B&M at the time. It doesn't seem like parks would make the boards take down a rumor unless it was an actual leak. These few weeks are gonna kill me. I am going to have to drive by the park this week and look for track and maybe get a ride on the improved SOL Spin.

Intamin Rapids Ride

There are 4 pumps with 2 on each side of the track. 3 of the 4 operate at a time with a different one cycled off so they can do maintenance on it. I don't think it ever operates with more or less than 3 pumps. The bottom right one is off in this satellite photo. Full thus heavier rafts sit lower in the water and get wetter so on non busy days; the boats appear dry because no one is really riding it. Bottom right pump is off -
I don't know what they charge but if their minimum is 5,000 guests and I am guessing at around $50 - $100 per head would be $250,000 - $500,000 for a full theme park buyout based upon those numbers. You are probably better off just visiting on many traditional school days and there probably aren't much more guests in the park than that. https://www.knotts.com/explore/groups/corporate-events/park-buyout "Corporate Buyout Have it all! Cedar Fair states 4 new coasters for 2018 and we know 3 so far: 1. Cedar Point RMC conversion of Mean Streak 2. Kings Dominion RMC conversion of Hurler 3. Great America new steal coaster of 110' tall The 4th is still open but Knott's has the land cleared and the most rumors about their park so far. There still should be time to build a new coaster. They may just be avoiding heavy construction until after the busy summer season. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait to mid-August or even early September to begin construction. Specially if they need to tear up any paths or affect pedestrian traffic in the park.

You can search for Knott's building permits online. I just couldn't find anything newer than 2016. I couldn't find demo Boomerang for example but demo Riptide is there along with repair work on Ghostrider, Fire Station transfer and other projects. weblink.buenapark.com/public/Browse.aspx?startid=50374 or weblink.buenapark.com/public/Search.aspx ghostrider work fire station transfer 143 results returned use custom search

SFMM just started opening during the week in Septemeber. This is new this year. I would pick a weekday after Labor Day excluding Sept 21st to visit. The park is open fewer hours but you should get on more rides during that time. I have been to SFMM and Knott's on school days and most lines in the few minutes range.

Throwback Thursday-Knott's Edition
SoCalJasonland replied to justcreate89's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It looks like they took old postcards, park guide, printed photographs, and other items and put them on the carpet or a black folder, as backgrounds, to take digital photos of them to post. He just took a photo of a photo instead of scanning it. -
I went to the park today for a couple of hours. I noticed that the Boomerang track is gone and no longer next to the burned fire station. I asked three ride operators and got three different answers. All said it was sold and is not moving to another Cedar Fair park but one said to China, another said Japan and the last didn't know where it was sold to. I am guessing that if it is not sitting in a dirt field adjacent to another Cedar Fair park already that it was sold outside the company. SOL Spin like mentioned is closed. BBQ restaurant doesn't look much different. Nothing with the new coaster site yet. SOL - no rides today Future BBQ BBQ Seating?

I bought a gold pass membership on a private sale on 6/30 with no plans on going to the park until the end of August or early September. I am know I am getting charged immediately but it doesn't say anywhere on the voucher or agreement on how soon you need to process in and get your card. Has anyone ever purchased a membership and waited a couple of months before pickup up the membership card without having any issues? Are there any somewhat moderate busy days in the next month that would be even worth a visit?

Sky Cabin isn't going anywhere! In fact, I heard they were using the new space to build 2 more clones of it. Now us Southern Californian's will have not one, but THREE iconic K's in the skyline! Knott's President: Should we remove the Sky Cabin and the iconic "K"? Clayton Bigsby: Naw, if you got one "K" proudly displayed. You need two more to make it grander. Build two more towers with two more "K"s. Woogie Boogie! Knott's President: We are afraid that could come off as a touch racist. Clayton Bigsby: Don't let the liberal media tell you how to think and feel! If you have hate in your heart let it out!

Here are a couple of photos from Knott's today. Sol Spin had a closed for the day sign with no one there. BBQ Restaurant appears to be getting closer to being finished. Sky Cabin / Boomerang site was pretty much the same. Forgive us this attraction is closed today S.O.L. Spin BBQ Appears to be some seating areas being installed to the right of the restaurant Nothing yet at former Boomerang site Nothing yet at former Boomerang site Lifts working on the BBQ roof
