  1. It might not be the best One-Two punch, but I think Goliath + Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland is a very nice combination. Another one I can think of is Fluch von Novgorod + Schwur des Kärnan at Hansa Park.
  2. I really like what Slagharen is going to build. I think it'll be a very fun ride and a great replacement for Loopingstar. A good coaster for the park. But the moment I saw a video of the ride, I knew there was going to be a load of complaints by a lot of Dutch "coaster enthusiasts". Talk a bout people having WAY too high expectations (a lot were expecting a Junker/Karacho size coaster, some probably even bigger ). It was fun and sad at the same time reading through the comments on the Dutch forums. Luckily there are still a few of us that are realistic and can appreciate this coaster. I'm really looking forward to seeing this ride go up and ride it next year. Especially since the park is not that far away.
  3. ^And in reality even longer due to there being quite a lot of traffic. It was quite a long day. We were away from home for 25 hours . But it was worth it.
  4. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=how%20long%20is%20the%20drive%20from%20new%20york%20city%20to%20busch%20gardens%20williamsburg According to Google, that drive is 6 hours and 32 minutes one way. Seems legit. In 2012 me and some friends made a day trip to Europa Park from the northeast of the Netherlands, which is about 6 and a half hours driving (400 miles). I'd say it's a bit much, but doable.
  5. You mean a bit like this? Sky Rider - Skyline Park (Germany)
  6. Difficult question. It's either Goliath or Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland. Goliath has great G-forces and airtime, but Lost Gravity is still new to me and also a great ride with some very nice elements. I think I'll pick Lost Gravity because of that.
  7. Probably because of this sign. Of course, it might mean that this is the only such machine in the Netherlands and there could be others in different countries. It's a bit vague. "Uniek in Nederland" (Unique in the Netherlands) means that these are the only ones in the Netherlands (and so there could be others in other countries). I'm sorry to hear you might not be able to go, Henry. I hope you will get the chance in the future. Walibi sure has a few nice coasters with (of course) Goliath and now also Lost Gravity. I visited the park last monday (august 1st) and I have to say that Lost Gravity really is a great fun coaster, especially on the winged seats.
  8. Added Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland to my count last monday. It's a really fun ride.
  9. Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland. Great fun little coaster.
  10. ^This track style (or at least a very similar one) are also being used on the LSM sections of the Energylandia launch coaster and Battlestar Galactica, and also on the chain lifts of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Bandit Bomber. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date, MrRC. I'm curious to see what this turns out to be.
  11. I'm going to Walibi Holland next monday to ride Lost Gravity.
  12. I don't know what's the best way to get to the park since I alway go by car (It's just an hour and 20 minutes driving for me). I think it also depends on where you're traveling from. Public transport shouldn't be that bad either. You can take a train between Amersfoort/Utrecht and Zwolle that stops at Harderwijk. From there goes a bus that stops at Walibi Holland.
  13. At the end of last season I rode it 2 times, once front seat, once back seat. While the back seat was absolute torture, I found the front seat was actually somewhat enjoyable. It's still not smooth, but it's definitely better than the back. So I'd say go for front seat. Are you visiting the park soon?
  14. And don't forget Bob, the parks Bobsled coaster. It's a very fun ride and not that intense (less than Joris en de Draak). Also, I don't consider Vliegende Hollander (Flying Dutchman) to be that much of a thrill coaster (actually slightly less than Joris), especially considering the coaster section is quite short. Anyway, I hope you'll be having a great visit.
  15. My last coaster was Fluch von Novgorod at Hansa Park, and right before that Schwur des KÄRNAN:
  16. ^My last new coaster was Die Schlange von Midgard. The last coaster I rode during my visit was Fluch von Novgorod.
  17. My last six new coasters are: Rasender Roland Nessie Fluch von Novgorod Schwur des Kärnan Crazy Mine and finally: Schlange von Midgard Guess which park I visited.
  18. If the weather isn't too bad, the next park I'll visit will be Hansa Park next Wednesday.
  19. ^So that means Orphan Rocker will open? I can't wait for Wildfire to be finished. I want to see it running!
  20. That must be a very long few years ago I'm quite certain it was still on their website about 4 years ago, maybe even more recent. I can't find any definite proof of this, but a quick Google search found me some posts on CoasterForce from October 2011 (4.5 years ago) that states that Intamin lists Maverick and iSpeed as blitz coasters on their website (at that time). I believe about 2 or 3 years ago, Intamin made some changes to their website, after which the blitz coaster category was removed. But none of this really matters as now Taron would just be listed as LSM Launch Coaster. It might pack quite a punch, I think more than Cheetah hunt, but maybe not as much as Maverick. We'll have to wait till it opens to see how it turns out, but I have no doubt it's going to be a great ride.
  21. Again, what the heck is a blitz coaster? Intamin doesn't have such a thing in their catalogue and as far as i know never have, is this like a community made up term for intamins LSM Launch coaster? A few years ago Intamin had the type "blitz coaster" listed on their website. This type contained Maverick and iSpeed. The other (less aggressive) LSM coasters like Cheetah Hunt were placed in a separate category called LSM Launch coaster. More recently they've removed the blitz coaster type from their website and only list LSM Launch coaster (They're basically the same thing anyway).
  22. New Snapchat video containing POV footage (top lift to turn after zero-G roll):
  23. ^ I think it's more a sidewinder than a loop. I'm very curious to see how this will turn out when it's finished.
  24. A new picture has appeared: Source: Looopings Twitter
  25. As has been said, this is fan-made, so it might not be entirely correct in terms of shaping. Also, remember the video's of Skyrush before it was built/completed? Didn't those video's look (very) boring either? See how that turned out. That might also be the case with this coaster. We'll just have to wait and see.
