Alton Towers Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Think about it, if this was a major ride Merlin would push Alton Towers to shove it up our faces and let them scream from the roof tops. So my guesses are it's a kiddie coaster or RCDB has it on the wrong end. -

^ I can stand behind those words all day long. The python is a icon coaster in our country it has been important for many people as their first coaster with inversions. I think emotionally we can never say goodby to that coaster even when judgement day comes. Anyway lets go into some real news, we have coaster track Screamscape has them and I share it: Right color: Right tag D6-C (Source): Source. Looks nice Finaly we have pictures of it. -

I still hope that if we ever have to say goodbye to the Python they just name the coaster that comes next Python Plus. I knew about the rumor that they intended to remake it like that, but I never knew it was that close, literally they could have waited a year of 2 for that food corner and still have done it. Just not having the money to come up with the food corner that has to be made them scrap the project, that was close. -
I have my final list of 2015 complete: - Efteling (Will follow the construction of Baron 1898 step for step and will take a ride this summer.) - Gardaland (With the Dive being build there and all credits still open I thought about a revisit.) - Mirabilandia (The first time going there, looking forward to it.) - Hansa park (Never been here before, but with Schwur des Kränan I think a visit is worth my time.) - Parque Warner Madrid (First time going to Spain, But I hope this is worth a visit.) - PortAventura park (Can't wait to visit this park, heard so much about it.) After a big 2014 and a big 2016 upcoming I decided to slow down this year.

If it's going to be Oblivion I hope they do add something to it. (Like Nemesis Inferno) It's not that I dislike the name but I kinda dislike it if they just not trying to come up with original names and just pick one from on of their other parks. -

I might have an answer to that. I was in the park yesterday and I know for sure the side by The flying Dutchman is a open hole. My prediction is that they're going to instal these track pieces through that wall and bring them in place from there. This is my best guess. I'm sure they have a plan or maybe they placed some additional track inside during the early hours, I mean we can't see through wall can we? Anyways these are wild guesses. -

Small update this morning: Masonry on track. Remise. Under seemed largely to be closed up. Steps, within the queue, probably going into preshow 1. Working on the floor seems to be wood. I had not seen this big boy was on site already. Looks like they have plenty of work. Tower. This is the other side of the Gondoletta, in the winter we will be able to see from here Baron 1898. Sorry about dusk, the sun was low and we only had time in the morning to do this. Footers for the Immelmann just before the tunnel. Sin that seems copper between. It seems to go well maybe the end of December they will be ready to install the track. The footers are at least well underway. Tunnel and Immelmann will fill this shot. I Already could see it myself the trains coming out of that tower, the future seems bright. This concludes it again. Much changed. I was also planning to make a picture of it but I forget it. The Efteling have made a change in on their entrance building now they have the name on it as well. Not that it was needed, but this is development. So here a picture From vijfzintuigen.nl for more (including a night shot) just click the Source link below: Source: Vijfzintuigen.nl -

Need to visit the park these days I really like to see the track myself and the last time I was there they only had the station part of the building up, I'm guessing it's now 3 times to 4 times the size of that. And i found it very big to begin with I fink this should be huge. -

Seems to me a bit early. The construction began 2 months ago and we still have 8 to go. Besides I haven't heard of any coaster parts on site. I don't know for sure but I'm sure there is just one footer so far, I was able to see only one footer in the station begin this month and haven't heard of a second. Anyways looks good so far. Really wonder how it looks this saturday (I'm bringing home a update). -

I thought the park announced that the trains would not rise through the tower, meaning it will only be used for a drop (and possible theatrics) Thought we had a vertical chain lift confirmed by them, inside the tower. Even the the latest Artwork give away the lift and drop are inside that tower. -

Love they even have the Huis van vijf zintuigen (house of 5 senses), what is the entrance of the Efteling, on the station as wel. I really do enjoy a good parody. I never understood the fear of clowns but this image makes me creepy about this one. -

RCT3Bross replied to Rockman89's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is it just me or is Gardaland trying very hard to make the webcam image as useless as possible. I mean it doesn't even shown a complete lift en yet we have the drop done. I mean come on either make it useful or don't tease us with it at all, I understand that they want to control it to some extend but this isn't funny anymore. Anyways now I blew of my steam that drop looks nice, nothing special but nice. -
This Saterday I've bee to Europa Park and hadn't have the time to post the trip report, but yeah here we go. This is Halloween, First time Halloween in a park, had no idea what to expect but I'm up for it again: We were late so walked to the back and on the way I took this picture: Wodan was new since my last visit in 2010, it also sett this year credit counter on par with the 2010 counter to 10 credits, Lucky me there was an other I missed making 2014 the best coaster year I ever had. Ironically Europa park played the deciding factor in making both 2010 and 2014 the best year so far. Blue Fire through the wood: Entrance: Queue: Hel, Half Alive half dead: Weird faces of the indoor queue: Train: Coaster action shot from Station: Drop front view: I enjoyed this one again. One of the best I did so far: Queue time: Launch go: Pumpkin Dino: With Arthur I got my 11th credit this year and surpassed 2010. I have to say like the ride, feels like a coaster and the darkride aspect that does add up to the ride. Would re-ride this for sure: Arthur shot after exiting: Silver Star, a must do in Europa park for sure, even if it goes wrong, we had some problems with the seatings and I ended up riding without my Girlfriend (She didn't fit in the regular seats, and I had no problem with that at all.) but the point was she enjoyed the ride and that made it all better because she really wanted to ride it: So up to our own little cold land for a ride at Piraten van Batavia: I need to tel this guy his time machine worked: Captain Jack: Halloween actors walked around all day, This is Halloween: Then we hide under satilite Mir for a round at oh yip Euro Mir: No wonder the tv worked fine at our rest place: Black Lights: Poseidon, this remains so much fun: Wooden horse back or b...: More Poseidon: Treasure shot: [imghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/64357_745027202237100_3888119064369642609_n.jpg?oh=949ba1dda5f5f67e4f42f8b64f1046a1&oe=54F4E32D&__gda__=1420884800_b3b9ac83ffcdb28a220eeaef984044c1][/img] More pictures taken in the queue: Splash shot 1: Splash shot 2: Horror maze for the evening, I had no intention to go there anyway: Dance party tonight: Fluch der Kassandra at Halloween: Close of was Matterhorn Blitz, no big close of this visit: This dude was waiting at the entrance, he needs some meat: [imghttps://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/149370_745027515570402_6479509505804108146_n.jpg?oh=f5e0ac6bbb6f2eb504c3473219c626e5&oe=54B48ECB][/img] And from inside and outside the park the park logo: And Silver Star to close this Trip report of: This pretty much closes my 2014 trip reports off. I only have 2 trips to the Efteling for construction updates of the Baron 1898, I might make a report of my December visit, otherwise till 2015.

Yes, the park may not build over the trees actually. But the permit papers said the asked permission to go over it. But that doesn't make a big difference, the drop is 37,5 meters high, so the ride would be 30 max (that means 5 meter above there restriction of 25.) About the inversion and splash, we have no conformation on the lay-out, I heard whispers and rumors they will release a full 3D onride at the beginning of 2015, so we have to be patient. I like to add that there is a high chance of 2 inversions and almost no chance on the splash, following current rumors and construction work. -

Looks great, hope this does the ride justice, it is actually very fun. I read that the plan is to place a building on the outdoor part, I actually would hate that or the theming must be stunning. I know they might be doing this to not curse with the magic Valley part of the park. -

^ Don't expect that here, seeing that building (and knowing it's the station) well this isn't big enough. I think we need to have it from the inside theming. -
Wel I had a great 2014, so 2015 won't be big. Sure one's: Efteling (I gotta try out that Dive really bad.) Gardaland (2 Dives in a year isn't a bad plan, right? besides been there before and don't have a single credit.) Mirabilandia (Sounds like a B&M year now, Katun will be one of the reasons.) Unsure one's: Hansa Park (Kränan sure looks fun, but might wait another year then its on my route to Sweden.) Europa park (going there this weekend, depends really how well things go that weekend) California trip: SFMM (Twisted colossus), Disneyland (Disneyland), SFDK (Superman). (Going to be my first America trip so depends on a lot of things, really hope it.) But it's early things might change so who knows.

^^ I agree that Dives are much better then the winged coasters and I agree with you on that aspect. but I would have hoped that either the Efteling of Gardaland would built a Flying coaster, these sure seem fun and I still dislike the fact we only have one in Europe like it. But I'm still happy we get these 2 dive's, both look to have some potential and only time will tell us if they do, I mean small Lay-outs have shown to be quite surprising. Let's just hope on some more unique Dive lay-outs. -

Hope the real one has this awesome support. It remains a concept art and we all know they rarely look completely the same ( the fact that we have this Mine lift is for sure, but might look in some way different.), I hope the real version looks like this though it looks awesome.
