I get a little sad reading this thread the last few day's. Not enough to quit going here yet. The reason is: European (Dutch) fans defending Baron from something that hasn't been said. People should read more or deeper, Robb said he looks forward to the ride, what is it that you want him to say? I mean he was very positive about the ride, is that not good enough? People should stop defending the over-hypers that spam him about the ride. Like I said before: "We getting a good solid addition but this isn't a ride we should shove into people's noses." Baron could very well be a fun ride but not the next big thing. I personally think the ride will be better then Krake because the ride is bigger, Yet is that what will make it a better ride? No, I keep in mind that the length could also work on the ride's negative side, Krake is a fun ride that packs more then I thought it would and the short ride makes it sharp and sweet. Baron being lower but having more elements could very well mean the ride doesn't has the same "power" like Krake. However, I will only know that this summer. -

To be honest I hate pre-shows in general. Every time me and my girlfriend go in to Villa Volta we are just making funny faces on the voices because of how boring it is after hearing it so many times. That said I fear we get the pre-shows after seeing how big the outside queue is. I still hope they plan to make it like De Vliegende Hollander (queue with interactive elements) rather then the Pre-Shows, I however fear it will not be that way. -

With all that's going on here already I thought about posting my thoughts of the ride. (Note I leave all previous comments aside and focus on my thoughts, when people feel like I attack them there problem not mine.) I think Baron is a nice looking coaster and a sure win for the park, Does is deserve the best themed coaster price? No, like Robb said it's basically the station, queue and lift and there are rides that have entire landscapes created for them (think Black Mamba). Is this the best coaster ever? No, I'm looking forward to ride the Baron this summer en especially since it's close at home, but this year I also go to Gardaland and Oblivion is just one of the many coasters I plan to ride this year I look forward to even more then Baron. Yes I'm exited about Baron since it is close by and it looks like good solid ride, I like to talk about the Baron because of that and yes that sometimes that will look like I hype the ride without that being my intentions. It's logical that after the lay-out was revealed I'm not going to say: "looks fun but Oblivion : the Black hole looks way better" I'm here to talk about the Baron not the rest of the Dive's. Robb about your opinion post: I was very happy to read it because you (in my eye's) are of a higher class of coaster enthusiasts, I'm happy that you took the time to say a few good things about the ride and it's a opinion that I share. It isn't a ride we should shove into people's noses screaming: look at this, but it is a ride that in a way we are allowed to be proud off. Again thanks for taking the time, I enjoyed reading it and I'm happy to hear you look forward to ride it one day. -

... and we, europeans, wish we'd have larger dive coasters such as Sheikra or Griffon. Will we ever be 100% satisfied? We will never be satisfied that's true, but I like it this way, As European we like to go and ride the big rides so we're almost forced to go to the USA and have it there and there are many in the USA that like to ride the more "beautiful" (highly themed) rides and have to come here to Europe. I mean wouldn't be fun anymore if America starts to make the big themed one's and Europe the big one's. It sets the coaster fans in motion to travel the various types around the world. That is what I believe that makes riding coasters the best thing there is. Anyway this ride will look great, there are some rumors that the ride will get custom supports all the way, the latest concept art (of the whole track) shows custom supports but I don't think it will happen, would be awesome though. -

Just conformation of what we already knew the lay-out would be, seems like a fun ride and can't wait for it to open. -

^ That even confuses me a little so A the tire's are literally useless or the Chain is lower there? I had a small theory on myself that there would be a gear there to carry the weight of the trains, but that seems out of the question. Anyway's great to see that the 1 chain theory was right, after all it was theory till seconds ago. -

^ You would think that is the most logical way of thinking. Apparently it isn't there is really a huge amount of people claiming that it is Impossible, aether because there are the tires on top of the lift (they think they're useless then, when I told the same theory like above on a Dutch forum this was also the first argument trying to claim my wrong) or the drop Chain isn't in the middle of the track and the lift chain apparently is, so we have 2 different hooks (Also D10 are mentioned as the source not the D6 like Baron will be). I mean it's a freaky comedy right now those arguments, they only want to see how it is on top rather then look beneath the track and notice the return. -

Something I noticed on today's update found here: Seems like the chain is going from downstairs al the way to the drop and function as lift and drop chain at the same time. I mean that return goes literally al the way towards chain lift, It's like there isn't any other way then there will be one chain. (off course the chain unhooks for a little time when we cross the tires). I mean besides the hole (that will be filled up with a beam that will connect the Gondoletta side of the tower and the Flying Dutchman side) there isn't any point the return seems to be interrupted, and besides that we have no motor for the drop underneath the track piece. Seems like they changed it because the left out the turn this time. It's just a theory off course but still sounds the most logical now. -

If I remember correctly there are official reports that construction would take 10 months, that count stated in September meaning we're looking more at a late June early July rather then early June. So you better not get your hopes up. -

All kind of things are happening today at the construction site. Scaffolding going down: Top of the Lift has arrived: Fence going around the platform that will be placed on top of the tower: Entrance roof getting more detail and in the background notice the chimney on the tower: And more here. Still everything looks great about this ride and I can't wait seeing more of this, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Edit: Didn't get any warning about others posting, weird anyway I let it stay like this. Yes this is the first without a turn. Still wonder if this means there will be things different. -

^ That would be to much yeah. Yes these aren't the most exiting or fantastic coasters out there, but these 4 are part of the best the Netherlands has to offer if you ask me. Plus when you look at that picture it really feels like a collection of rides rather then just stand alone rides in a park. -

Interesting take on my big 4 picture, yet accurate. Anyways here's my full update from yesterday including all my pictures from vijfzintuigen and more: You can see the site from far away now: Seeing it in real life I'm afraid this isn't the full brake yet: Really like the back so far: Still a lot of catwalk pieces lying around: There is start on landscaping: Theming: Future Lift: More from a distance: And from the air: Roof work on the tower: Other side: A good look at the hight levels: Future walkway: And Future Immelmann: The big 4 picture again: Theming entrance: -

As of yesterday I kept count on what (we thought) has been build already so here is the stand of Yesterday: Some people might notice I placed this before and some footers have been relocated to lay more at their real place (previously it was unclear what their exact locations where taking the others into account) and the track lay's on some places different. (Dark) Red = Unbuild track. (Dark red is the unbuild track inside the tunnel) I know they're busy with the lift but it hasn't been placed yet. Green = Build track. (When I made it yesterday I didn't know that the lift Motor was already inside.) Purple footers = unbuild supports. Orange footers = Build Supports. Yellow just shows how the supports (could) connect to the track. Blue is just the location of the tunnel. Good seeing the catwalk already being installed construction seems to be good on it's way. Odd to see them planning to lift the entire lift hill (3 pieces) in one go but I understand that they're doing that to keep the whole thing from tilting too far when being lift into the air, still a little odd. -
^ So let's see if I understand this. This means no Amazing Spider-man 3 and a completely new one in 2017 (new actor new story) that will be part of MCU. Which means it will fall in the same street as Iron man (2008) and the others in the Avengers movie line. But we won't see other avengers in Spider-man movies, but could we still expect Peter Parker in a movie in the avengers line? I'm kind off lost on that part.

Good to see the incline in the Brake run. Means that is the brake run and it isn't starting before the final turn. Looking good seems like the majority of the lift is there (Only miss the motor piece and the top piece) So I think that's going in soon. Well I'll be walking with a big smile this saturday seeing this one in real life. -

Well last week started out great, so why not this one? So I have found several new things not shared here: This weekend the Brakes where spotted in the Netherlands: Source. Today: As this photo shows they've started construction on the other custom support: Source. Apparently a track piece has found his way to the park (3th piece counting the 2 already in the station): Source. Also some decorative stuff arrived today and been placed, seems like things are going great over there and another promising week is upcoming. -

Anyone notice that the drop piece has no separate motor block underneath it? I mean all other dives have these giant drop pieces that look 2 times heavier then a normal piece but this one just looks like a normal piece. Now I have a theory but maybe they plan to make the chain for the lift and drop from 1 piece (unlike the other dives that have a separate chain for the drop.) I mean should be possible, right? Just drop the hole drop chain and make the normal one come to a stop. -

^ I was just about to post the track pieces, Well can't always break the news. Anyway seems like it are the top of the lift, the first piece before the drop (photo 1) and 2 lift pieces one with a connector (Photo 2), so lets hope this goes up soon cause I'm quite exited at this moment. Going quick over there I guess tomorrow they finish up the tower, has been a good week. -

Wooden coaster with inversions in Europe? Okay you have my attention. Ireland? and you lost me (looking at coasters). Why is it that only zoo's with small themeparks get these woodies (looking at Europe, Tayto park and Kolmarden)? I mean is this really they only weapons they have left against the big guns everywhere els in Europe? -
