Is Zero G Roll scary?
bert425 replied to leonardgraham's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well, my favorite is a Spider roll, and it is delicious (Fried soft shell crab, avocado, masago, scallion, spicy mayo.) -
the main part of the discussion we've been having on the TPR FB page, isn't annoyance that SP holders are really being "forced" to switch to Membership to keep the perk of "all parks" we've had historically. . . but rather the massive annoyance that some of us do not WANT to sign up for a monthly payment. to be clear: it's not about the money. . it's about signing up for a monthly payment plan that tends to refresh annually (a different date based on when you signed up) and is hard to cancel - as they has REMOVED the "pay up front all at once and be done with it" option that used to be avail. for memberships. I reached out to Six Flags directly to ask why they had removed the option to pay a flat rate up front, and I actually got a response from them overnight. so sharing here. . . I'm completely FINE with this. . and so right now, my plan is to wait until January, go up to Fiesta Texas, and purchase a lower tier membership for the flat rate.

Six Flags updated the park websites tho. .you can click on special offer, put in your pass # & email, and it will show you the offer. Mine was ~$30 less than the current Season Pass offering. keep in mind, with the changes tho, the Season Pass is only good at your home park (and very likely contains blackout dates during Frightfest and HitP).

^ and to add to point about the Texas parks being unique due to leadership. . .if you've heard about the pretty massive changes being made to Season Passes for 2022? the two Texas parks do not have any blackout dates during Holiday in the Park or during Frightfest - something that does not appear to be true for the other parks in the chain. (I've heard whispers it has to do with pushback from the Park's leadership as to why SFFT & SFOT don't have blackout dates for those who want to remain Season Pass holders, rather than move over to Membership).
-
it's totally due to who's in charge (park president) and the results they get. Jeffery Siebert is an amazing guy, and he does a great job at SFFT interacting with the guests as well as running the park. Ron moved up to SFOT Park President from SFFT leadership chain, so that's why SFOT has been doing amazing things the past 16 months as well)

just got Biopsy results. NEGATIVE for Malignancy/cancer. oh, there's still what looks to be an infection in his vertebrae. . but that's treatable! (Bone Cancer is not). Holy fuck. .this has been a stressful 5 weeks now onto the ENT Doctors to see if they can fight off the infection (which has been running rampant for weeks more than it should have been due to us being dicked around by Insurance/Scan Place/Doctors for over 5 weeks just to get the damn biopsy done!).

Erik & Smisty's Denver Disappointment!

I am *absolutely* not a WaterPark person (tho for me, I have to take my contacts out, then I'm blind, so they aren't fun to me). We do seem to have very similar tastes and I'll bet a trip together would make for a hell of a good time! but. . . I'd TOTALLY go to a waterpark, just so I could take a picture of my rented "Cowabungalow" that's so awesome, there's simply not enough awesomesauce in the world to cover it! -

I can say with certainty that you're in the minority. (tho KD is a fantastic park as well) and if you think BGW is so well loved because of the Scenery (and not for the crafts, the shows, the animals, the inanely fantastic rides, in addition to how gorgeous the park is)? Then nothing I can say is going to change your mind. -

I think using this to sell passes for 2022 is probably the smartest move they can make - even tho the ride looks ready to go (and has been for a while). I mean, Feb 2022 is less than 6 months out at this point -

I have zero desire to ever go back to Dorney - no good reason at all, especially when Knoebels and HersheyPark are so close. -
officially - since the "NU52" relaunch 10 years ago (2011) - they changed the character's name to "Shazam" so while it's true for Decades, "Captain Marvel" appeared in the DC comics under the comic titled "Shazam" (due to Marvel Comics trademarking "Captain Marvel" back in the 1960's, while the Fawcett character - whom DC acquired to publish - was dormant) - every appearance since 2011 he's been "Shazam"

I just really don't like the scissors thing. it just doesn't seem "sanitary" to me. . and yes, i know, the scissors are specifically for the pizza cutting. . I still don't like it. (cut the damn pizza in the kitchen and bring it to me sliced). otherwise tho, the pizzas all look great.

Park President Jeffrey Siebert just shared these Poltergeist update pics - reopening to the public in two weeks! I asked for, and got, his permission to share here: here are the ongoing upgrades to the queue and station building (including the work we can see being done on the new indoor section on the "porch":

that is EXACTLY what it feels like. but if you're leaning back into the seat (ie: prepared for it), it was awesome. got 2 (maybe 3?) rides on it in 2019, and loved the speed of it. (tho it was only my 3rd favorite coaster in the park) -

yeah. . I got the same. I'm CERTAIN it ties into the "special offers" they are going to be making to Season Pass holders that they have been hinting at in the newsletter emails - the new "benefits" that are going to be offered to Season Passholders. I'm honestly expecting it to be some sort of offer to swap to Membership, as that's really what they want us passholders to move to. but note it DOES state: so maybe they are just responding to the complaints about how members got all these extra benefits (skip the lines, automatic upgrades), and Season Pass folks just got the year extended. we'll know in a week, as it tells me to expect the email offer to come on 8/26.

Do you buy fast pass tickets ?
bert425 replied to Ozano305's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
for my home and other local parks? almost never - unless I'm meeting up with friends from out of the area (and they've bought it so I add on to be with them). when I travel to a park out of State - almost always (at least 1 day of the visit). as to the question: "Do I hate them?" No. . I don't. If someone is willing to pay the $$ to skip the lines? good for them. I have that option too, and if I chose not to purchase it? that's on me. I *do* however get a bit annoyed at the SF chains "you get 4 free skip the lines because you're a member" stuff (as Bill mentioned above). I realize that too, is a benefit that was given to those who were PAYING for Membership (and then bonused up to make up for Covid). . but still. . . that can be a bit annoying when I'm in line at SFFT, and suddenly there are 40 people ahead of you on a low capacity ride, right when you're next in line) -
