  1. NASA says ~250. .but EarthSky says 220. (I really do think that's where the Ima gineers got that # from)
  2. you ever notice how the zoo's with carousels always seem to call them "Conservation Carousel" whoever thought up and sold those signs, must have made out like a bandit! and thank you for not being horny for any of the offerings in this update - as you were looking at animals? that would have been weird
  3. my money is on stupid drunk. but likely will never know.
  4. Yes! as I just noted in my response the Garet - it only took ~3 seconds for the transition between loading now. (edit: and this response took less than 1 second to post)
  5. I had guessed Black Adam several pages back simply based on the Yellow Track. if there are now Maroon supports on site? yeah, it's Shazam.
  6. the direct link to forums is: themeparkreview.com/forum that's how I got here today, because I too am seeing blank front page (just black screen). *but the form topics only took ~3 seconds to load for me when I came to respond to you here.
  7. it's been running "normal" for me today, no issues. If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't have noticed, but in the past few days, it was taking a few seconds to switch between posts/forums. But it certainly didn't seem slow enough that it was an issue (figured it was just my system). EDIT: I just checked and timed now that you've asked and it did just take 9 seconds to go from this topic to the main board. and then clicking on the topic to come back and edit this c comment took 11 seconds.
  8. nice report .. yeah, Excalibur was down on my 1 visit too. we have a follow-up trip planned in 2022, so I can see the updated Carousel, and ride Excalibur. too bad you didnt' do the mine train, I actually quite enjoyed it. (and as a lover of Ferris Wheels, a spin on Colossus was a great way to see the park). by the way, from what TeacherKim has told me, Boss had been scheduled for RMC conversion. . .but then: Covid/park closures/plans scuttled.. etc. . ). hopefully that plan will come back around again, as I hated it too. (tho LOVED American Thunder and Screamin Eagle)
  9. not only new paint on the coaster itself tho . . just wait until you see the new Queue/showbuilding. . it looks AMAZING. (and they have enclosed part of the "porch" giving an indoor section) some pics Park President Jeffrey Siebert has posted on his twitter:
  10. is it not supposed to be in the International Space Station? (which is in orbit 220 miles above the Earth)? at least that's what I thought the name is supposed to be referencing https://www.cbsnews.com/news/good-morningfrom-220-miles-above-the-earth/
  11. generally? I go into a park blind, and don't do much research other than reading a few Trip Reports to familiarize myself with opening times, and/or what rides might have the lowest capacity (so look for advice when to go to them). I really like the "discovery" aspect.. so what I tend to do is to just wander the park, stopping at attractions/rides, as I pass them and if interested hop on. Then I move on to the next thing (tho if something is really good, I'll ride it twice while there). . .otherwise, I move on, and try to go back later to ride it again. I did that in Japan really, but I admit I also benefited greatly by being there WITH a group of folks from TPR, several of whom had been to the parks before, and could point me in the direction of things not to miss. Tho still, for most part experienced the parks as I wandered thru them. (tho I did know about the El Dorado Carousel and it's great historical value at Toshimaen well before I got to that park, so made sure I got to ride it - even tho I was the only one in the group I was hanging with wanted to ride it.. so I went off solo to get a couple of rides on it) hope this helps?
  12. My Friend Katie Wennerberg took this pic yesterday from the Crows Nest Ferris Wheel of Poltergeist's new paint job! looks amazing, and can't wait to see the updated queue. . the whole ride reopens in 3 weeks on Labor Day weekend. to compare. .here's what it used to look like: (these pics from April)
  13. ah.. you must not have looked at my Coasterstock Trip Report
  14. it was quite rough, and needs some love - when we rode it ~4 weeks ago.
  15. yes.. if you get a locker, take off your belt and leave it there! it will make a big difference!
  16. ^ you're a little backwards. FL+ offers just 5 more rides (4 coasters and one flat) than regular FL on the Dry side (there are 4 additional FL+ water park rides too) but they are the four coasters you'll REALLY want to be able to skip the lines on: but pretty much every ride is on FL.. so if you don't care about these 4 particular coasters (say you're a huge Banshee and Diamondback fan and you'll ride the hell out of those? buy regular Fast Lane) I think the only two coasters not on FL/FL+ at all, and thus require standby queue wait are: The Bat & Woodstock Express
  17. ^ yup. . there's a reason no one mentioned it here, even tho it happened a few days ago. and I'll say here what I said online when someone posted it to Twitter - kudos to the guy who got the girls out of there. He's the only one classy in that whole thing (which appears to have been started due to line jumping)
  18. depending on how they set it? it MIGHT be a massively fun spinner. . . Arashi at Nagashima Spaland blew me away, so it's possible that these ride types can be a LOT of fun.
  19. per the cameras right now, MF is cycling. line appears to be closed off, but the coaster is cycling two trains. . so i'd say it's likely opening back up shortly https://www.cedarpoint.com/live-video?fbclid=IwAR3x8FSazEoStQ9ywhXrYTPZF6te_IUCO8ezCRu8VDjB_aS0eJKxoXos6BU
  20. ^ strange. I mean, yeah, SFFT doesn't have a lot of trees, but there is tons of shade in both ride queues (other than Poltergeist which they are fixing now making it an indoor queue), and with all the theaters
  21. did you visit during Covid? SFFT has multiple theaters. . . several of them inside with AC tho if you visited during Covid, no shows were running. . tho they've started most of the outdoor ones again (at least in shaded theaters)
  22. yup. . and toss in a stop in Seguin for an hour on the way to Arlington (for SFOT) from San Antonio, and spend an hour riding Switchback Railway at ZDTs and you have a great trip. hell..I'd add another point onto that and make it the Texas Triangle 5 day trip: fly into San Antonio and rent car. San Antonio for SFFT & SWSA (2 days) Drive to Houston, brief stop in Seguin for ZDT's, then thru Houston to Galveston for the Pleasure Pier. (1 day) Drive from Galveston to Arlington, brief stop in Kemah for Boardwalk Bullet. . then next Day at SFOT. (1 day travel, 1 day at SFOT) drop off car and fly back from Dallas/FW airport. add an extra day and spend that day in San Antonio at the Zoo, Alamo, Riverwalk.
  23. Clearly you've never been to SFFT, if you've made a statement this silly.
  24. just retheme it to "From Dusk Till Dawn". . . maybe it will be more popular?
