  1. Feedback from those who saw it Saturday at Butt-Numb-a-thon here in Austin, was that the film is TERRIBLE. so I'm hearing whispers that SONY is using the controversy as an excuse to "hide the bomb". . basically.
  2. Both our days at Hershey ended this way and we ended Knoebel's with Facination marathon
  3. embedding it for you: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Strange I tried the youtu_be button and it wouldn't embed. you have to use the "Share" code from youtube. so what you would embed under "youtu_be" is this: and yeah. . WAY too many spins for me. . no way would I get on this if this is the program they run
  4. embedding it for you: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  5. Part II showed up today! this AWESOME "Suspiria" shirt: Did my Secret Santabee from last year draw my name again??? Perfect gifts, but please come forward so I can thank you properly
  6. Yay! FYI. .safe to open, the pkgs inside are individually wrapped
  7. got an update that my package is at the delivering post office in the Country where they need to be. so hopefully my Giftee will get it today or tomorrow!
  8. nice report. I don't understand the "free drink" thing at Ripley's. . why is that a gag that there's no drink? what's the "Believe it or Not?" part?
  9. ok, my Partner confirmed for me the mystery package from yesterday IS from my TPR Secret Santa! No idea who it is, but there is a note (on TPR sticky notepad paper ) that says there is a part II coming, so YAY something more to look forward to. but really, what arrived is fantastic! This box contained: two Homemade (?) Ornaments -- very cute and two "Compilation" box sets. Big Box of Horror contains: Prom Night (Jamie Lee Curtis original!) Occupied Prom Night II: Hello Mary Lou The Familiar The Nurse Dire Wolf KillerKiller Meadowwoods Howling IV: the Original Nightmare & KillJoy a great set -- I've seen about 1/2 of them, but only owned Killjoy, so what fun to have these in my collection now, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the ones I'm not familiar with. also the set: Highway to Hell Collection contains: The Craving Hell's Highway Feeding Grounds Sheltered Delirium & The Ridge Not seen any of these! both sets are done by Echo Bridge Entertainment, and I usually like what they put on DVD. . so I have high hopes. thanks Secret SantaBee!
  10. They used it on the Amazing Race last year. looks like quite the fun ride!
  11. got a box delivered that appears to be from my Santa-bee. .but have to wait for my partner to get home just to be safe (to be sure it's not something he ordered for me). my tracking shows my package cleared customs and is on it's way to my Giftee. . so hopefully they'll get it tomorrow
  12. great prezzies! did it say who it came from?
  13. the film was MUCH better than the book. remember, the book is from her point of view. .she spends an AWFUL lot of the 3rd book getting knocked out and waking up from comas/concussions!
  14. it being our first time, we had a blast on Curacao, and we really enjoyed the Dominican Republic even (we took an excursion that brought us out of the terrible city and into the rest of the island - it looked like Hawaii). but agreed, the Islands were very similar, and if we were to go back, it would maybe only be sure to include Aruba & Curacao among the new ports. TRUST me, I would have rather not been on Holland America, it was a gifted cruise from my Parents and they insisted on that line. (I WILL eventually get a report up, just been super busy since we got back) I must admit tho, the age range on the ship was better than I expected. Guessing, I'd say the breakout was: 40% - 85+ 40% - 65-85 15% - 40-65 5% - 40 & under The main older group (85+, most with walkers, wheelchairs, scooters) we almost NEVER saw in MDR (we had late seating), and rarely saw anywhere on the ship (except for Lido! -- Lido was always PACKED with wheelchairs when we cut thru) and maybe a couple of excursions. But I can't recall ever getting behind someone exiting the ship in this age range. what was disappointing tho, that despite this age mix?. . the programming on the ship was 90% targeted towards the oldest group. seriously, on the sea days, some of the options were: "Bridge Group" "Needlepoint Group" or "Meet and Discuss the News" whoopie! Then again, many of the upper 60's folks on our ship had just come across the Trans-Atlanatic crossing (I think they were mainly dutch), and I've never seen so many older folks in Speedos and Bikinis (good for them, but .. . shudder).
  15. hehe we're the opposite, we like stopping at a lot of ports and don't tend to do much on the ship (for example, we just went to the Caribbean on Holland America. . not much at all to do on the ship, but we spent almost all the docked time enjoying the ports). Then again, we've never been on a ship as big as Quantum is, and have never seen anything like these onboard amenities. So I'd guess I WOULD spend more time on board if we were on this ship (or one of a similar size). thanks again for sharing, and it looks like y'all had an absolute blast! (we have an iFly less than 2 miles from us in Austin, and I'm dying to try it. . it looks like FUN)
  16. Looks like y'all had an awesome time, thanks for sharing. I may have missed it looking at all the pictures, but did y'all stop at any ports? I'd imagine if I were on this ship, I'd likely stay aboard while in port and do all the fun stuff!
  17. Regardless of what it is?. . it's the thought that counts. I'm already counting it as a "win" just seeing everyone posting that they shopped (even if it IS frustrating waiting for stuff to arrive so you can re-ship). it's just a joy to see people caring! Edit to add, since y'all were just talking about Amazon. I bought my Partner the complete Riddick collection on Blu about a week ago as a Lightning Deal (it was a good deal, only ~$13 for the 3 films on Blu plus an animated short). (he doesn't read here, so he'll not see this ). anyways, on Wed, i got an update from Amazon that it would arrive between 12/28 and 1/15. I wasn't THRILLED about that, but since I already have enough gifts for him anyways, I figured "no problem, I'll just hold Riddick for his Birthday in March" *today*. . less than 48 hours after getting the order update saying I won't get it prior to Xmas? I moments ago just got an update saying my order will be here by 12/10. so we went from 4-8 weeks out to next week. in two days.
  18. So they actually did keep it a musical? (it's one of my favorites). the LACK of singing in the trailers had me scared. . I'm hoping they simply used EVERY non singing moment for the trailers. That is pretty much EXACTLY what they did! I felt the same as you "What is this non-musical version of Into the Woods???" But pretty much Act I is almost line by line lifted from the original show. They modify a few things for Act II to make it work as a movie but I'd say 90% of Act II is totally untouched. I'm not sure why Disney is so scared of saying it's a musical, because it REALLY IS almost non-stop singing beginning to end. GREAT to hear. This makes me very happy, and I'm already humming along "Into the woods, It's time to go, I hate to leave, I have to, though." This and "Rent" are my two favorite shows (followed CLOSELY by "Hedwig and the Angry Inch")

  20. prolly should be on the main Forum page, rather than Random. but the answer is Phoenix.
  21. I won't wait till Christmas, but I may wait for the first night of Hanukkah! Hello my fellow Jew! ( and ditto) Edited to add: My package shipped out this afternoon. I reveal myself in the card inside. . but a hint: International Shipping is EXPENSIVE! oooo. . who could I have gotten???
  22. it's not me! I'm on page 2! (but my giftee did eventually post here, and I was able to add something to the gift specific to their likes -- even tho I had guessed correct on something else that I think they will like as well)
  23. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  24. 2/3rds of gift ready to go . .as soon as last part arrives, I'll wrap and mail out (and as a bonus, one of the gifts -- a book I've been drooling over myself -- once I bought it for my giftee, I got an email from Amazon saying: Now that you've bought a hard copy, here's the kindle version free!. . . so it worked out well ).
  25. my giftee has not posted in this thread. so I guess I'll just take a shot and buy something and hope they like it.
