  1. we're having fun guessing, which is what Six Flags wants. they are closing Rockin' at Rockville - which has been playing there for years, and has won multiple golden ticket awards. why close it unless re-theme? Fiesta is one of the few Six Flags parks without a DCUniverse section, or a Batman themed attraction. it's *not* that much of a stretch to say that Rockville is going to retheme to either Gotham or DCU. we'll find out in two weeks or so. . . but betting we're on to something
  2. and come to think of it. . Rockville High, wouldn't make a good "Wayne Manor"..but it would make an AWESOME "Arkham Asylum" but i do think it will remain a theater.. but maybe a villain themed show?
  3. with the park that dead it was still 45 minutes for front seat on Ghostrider? they were only using one train, I guess?
  4. Just thinking out loud, but I think we're getting ONE new ride, and a new show. And as I said many pages ago, a re-theme of Rockville to either Gotham or DC Universe. whatever we're looking at, I think the one new ride is going to be themed to Batman. as Rockville will become either Gotham or DC Universe (most likely with theme extending to the Superman area. . likely meaning a re-theme of the swings and the Top Spin as well is coming). that would mean the Shoot the Chutes would get an Aquaman name, while Scream would be something villain related. they wouldn't touch Poltergeist, as the DC Universe/Gotham area wouldn't extend that far, assuming the new ride entrance is where Hustler was. but that would give them 5 re-themed rides (PowerSurge, Scream, Amerigoround, Swings, TopSpin), and one new one. . I think (even tho I mourn the loss of Rockville), that would be a good re-theme and tie in Krypton coaster to the area.
  5. if you're a fan, you HAVE to watch it. but let us know what you think. I've enjoyed all the other specials, even tho they focused mainly on "reboot" Doctor Who (post 96) for the most part. but this one had me excited since they had the 5th Doctor HOSTING!. . I'm hoping the episode from last night with talking to the writers will be better. and we loved the 4 part History of SciFi and couldn't figure out why they only showed 3 of the 4 episodes (they held the one from last night for months). . .having seen it now?. . . it's because they wanted to tie it into the Doctor Who premiere next week. Makes sense now
  6. ok, well, there are only four rides in Rockville (Power Surge (the chute the shoots) is really part of the boardwalk, despite where the entrance is), this pretty much confirms 100% Hustler is gone: Scream -- iconic of the park -- it's not going anywhere (tho I'll bet it gets rethemed from the drive in scenario) Motorama -- confirmed closed Amerigoround - would a Six Flags park NOT have a carousel? It's staying Hustler -- buh-bye
  7. Don Pardo -- longtime SNL announcer has died at 96. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/5wcfXFVSE-8[/youtu_be]
  8. wow. . the Peter Davison "Companion" special was cringeworthy. the first Special where they actually got a former Doctor to host, and FEATURING the actors who were some of the earlier companions! and not many clips of them in character, and instead "discussing over tea" what it takes to make a good companion. the show could have been 4 minutes long, and the answer is: whatever the writer has us do. (I started fast forwarding around the 1/2way point, so I don't know for certain, but I'd be thoroughly disgusted if they never mentioned Sarah Jane Smith (I didn't see her while fast forwarding). Horribly disappointing. I DVRed the one last night with Davison talking to the creators/writers. . hopefully that one is better.
  9. ok. . I'm gonna make my guess now! I think track one is going to be TOTALLY enclosed --like Goldstriker, but with MORE plywood. That way Six Flags can call it the worlds longest dark ride! and track two will be converted into a Roller-soaker! what? it could happen!
  10. wow. . the Westboro Baptist Church really have lost their way since Fred Phelps died.
  11. Or if neither of those work, they just go with Goliath. "Greezed Lightnin'" they still have those old Astroworld signs laying around
  12. Apparently this one is real. I've heard of this woman showing up at other fairs. I'm sure she gets some nice, respectful visitors to her exhibit, but I saw a couple of people walk back there and start giggling without saying anything to her. that's a shame, but I do hope she makes a decent living at it, and likely doesn't care what some think (good for her).
  13. we had them at Kennywood. . absolutely among the most disgusting thing we've ever tried. soggy, nasty, and super sweet. (we did NOT finish the 3 pc serving)
  14. I would expect the "human oddity" exhibit is a fake (the vast majority of them these days are). but on the off chance it IS real? I would never deny someone to make a living, if that's how they choose to do so.
  15. there's a link at the top of the page (just before Contact TPR). http://www.clubtpr.com/ http://www.clubtpr.com/benefits.php it's a yearly fee, but well, well worth it. I joined earlier this year, before our trip thru Pennsylvania, and I was able to buy park tickets for my partner and I with no issues (even tho I'm a ClubTPR member and he is not). the discounts ranged from a few bucks off, to a very nice ~$25 off at one park (not mentioning the particular park info, as I expect it's kept hidden for a reason until you become a Club TPR member). as I said, well worth the cost, and I plan to renew when mine expires
  16. I never cared for the chicken all that much. . but Mrs Knott's is all about the biscuits to me I was sad not to see a picture of the cute, tiny biscuits!
  17. aren't y'all gonna feel silly when Hershey introduces the new "Laff Trakk" candy bar next year?
  18. Dammit forever immortalized as one of the great romances in History: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  19. you know what's funny?. . we were going to ride it in Kennywood, and then chickened out. so we said: next time we see it! . . . and it didn't show up again at any of the other parks we went to! we always skip it in Vegas too. . .
  20. pretty much what most of us had guessed. . but it looks amazing. Not QUITE a mouse (maybe closer to track layout for Pandemonium, just indoors). . but I still expect the Wild Mouse will be going bye-bye for boardwalk expansion.
  21. great report. I've never been to Cedar Point. . did you not ride any flats there? or just didn't mention them?
  22. I just saw that. Very sad. Depression is a serious thing, and mental health treatment in the United States is a joke. He also did A LOT of drugs throughout his lifetime, that can mess up your mental health as well. Sad, one of the most major 'stars' to die in my adult life time. unfortunately, I actually DO know a lot about this. You will find, quite often, the heaviest drug abusers also have mental issues. They self medicate to try and even out the highs/lows from the mental illness. I admit, when I first heard the news, I thought to myself: drugs. but when I saw Suicide was the cause?. .that actually makes more sense. it's a real shame he wasn't able to beat the disease, and I do hope he has found the peace he was unable to achieve in life. thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.
  23. several mentions of the Gemini Midway, but no one brought up Knott's and what they did with the Perilous Plunge area? yeah, they DID add a coaster, but a family Mouse, and then installed two flats to finish out the "boardwalk" themeing. From what I've seen, it appears to be a big hit.
