  1. the Mini Golf at Fun Spot Atlanta looks amazing. We didn't have enough time when there last year to play, but I did get a pic of of from the Ferris Wheel (I'm back in ATL over Labor Day weekend, for Dragon*con, and we're already planning to spend that Monday at SFOG with a stop at Fun Spot to play mini golf)
  2. took a trip down to SFFT today, and despite being super crowded (of course, it's a holiday weekend so was expecting that), had a great time. multiple rides having issue, but most everything eventually came back up - only exception being Gully Washer (looked like the lift back into load/unload broke - there was a MASSIVE pileup of rafts stuck down below lift - as seen from the Iron Rattler break run. It took them a good 40 minutes to get everyone off the ride, and then it went down for rest of day - and it looked like they were draining it when I was leaving around 7:30. . so maybe to get under the lift mechanism to try to fix? Bug's Whitewater Rapids flume is back open post refurb - and was pulling a 2hour line (so skipped that today), but the spitting dragon is back up and working again. Wave Runner (the scrambler) is *still* down. . wonder what the heck is going on with that? *super* windy today, but huge kudos to SFFT, in that several things never went down for wind all day (IR, Batman (!), and even Scream & Skyscreamer operated all day. Poltergeist and Goliath were up and down a few times, but they kept starting them back up again, and I was able to get rides on both with shortish lines. as to Joker - looks like the fun-house queue has progressed really nicely (is that a "barrel of fun" entrance to the queue? . .hard to tell since it's so dark in there). . . .and looks like majority of ride is now on site, the supports -with a great Green/Purple color scheme, and a logo sign (2 of them, so either one for ride entrance, or on either side of the top). Tho the ride chassis itself was nowhere to be seen. speaking of chassis - Whirlygig now has the chassis back on the foundation (instead of rusting in the grass by Batman's queue), and looked like some maintenance work is getting done on it. No sign of any of the covering wrap, or the chairs - and oddly, the "Whirlygig" sign is still in place at the ride entrance. Wonder if they tabled the re-theme for the moment, and just are going to reopen as is? no idea, but the thought did cross my mind. No sign of the Rattlesnake fountain/sculpture at the entrance to Iron Rattler either. .that's been gone for "Refub" for a while now too. a little disappointed they still don't have any shows running in the theaters (only a couple of live music shows in the Los Festivales amphitheater). . .but, I guess it IS still May, so it's early yet. ChopSix had a way shorter line this time, and the Salad was nowhere near as fresh as it had been on my prior visit (soggy "crispy" noodles. . ew). . . but it was OK. anyways, I'll have TR up with pics by end of weekend.
  3. eh. . it's a brand new ride (and a version that is the 1st a Six Flags has installed). it's gonna have issues.
  4. I really like the "S" shield logo on the ground there. .that was added for Supergirl ride, correct?
  5. I'm a local to Stl. I'm just interested in defunct attractions ah. . the name and "location"threw me. we went to BGW a couple of years back and the park started handing out free water, and folks were "fainting" from the heat (it was the low 90's) . . and we were shocked by it (and just looked at each other, and kept riding things). When it's over 100 almost every day down here in the summer, you get used to it
  6. ^ aren't you from Texas? it was too hot in the line that you bailed? hmm can't imagine that St Louis is going to be hotter than Texas, but will find out for myself shortly. I laughed at you going to eat first, after all . . there was conversation about how the one at SFOT is a vomit machine, and how it was silly they put it right behind a restaurant. . . and yet you went and ate 1st. LOL I think it looks fantastic, and I can't wait to ride it in 2 weeks. .I'll bet the single seats have some great forces. thanks for the pics.
  7. looks like y'all had a great time. and I have to say, that pic of Blue Streak in the evening, is the best I've ever seen the coaster look. thanks for sharing, Chuck! (and congrats to the graduate)
  8. so glad you're back posting so frequently, Hanno. your pics really do bring a smile to my face most mornings
  9. Joker it's multipurpose. . if a girl, or a boy, or a coaster, or an S&S freespin, or a swinging ship, or a giant Pendulum
  10. Six Flags Fiesta Texas, on Saturday (planning on staying till dark - for a change. . to see the place lit up at night, and if they are doing an evening show this early in the Summer). then, in ~2 weeks? new park for me, Six Flags St. Louis
  11. I've said it before, and I'll say it again (and i REFUSED to ride it when last there. . I sat on bench while my masochist group I was with rode), re: Wildcat like a car with square wheels going down a road full of potholes. no thank you. (Lightning Racer on the other hand? wonderful)
  12. that Carousel is gorgeous! thank you for sharing such great pics.
  13. yeah, it absolutely is the way the deer pen is kept. it's a very large enclosure, but I wish they were handled more like the Buffalo area, where they have so much more space to spread out/roam. one thing I can say positive about the animals: when we were there last year, all of the handlers really did seem not only to really care about the animals. . but also seemed to be trained in the care of the animals (able to answer questions, and tell us about them, their habits, and diets. so it wasn't just a seasonal hire of a young adult to stand in front of the enclosures (the young adults just hired seemed to be doing the ride operations ).
  14. really great report, Boldikus, so thank you for finishing it. I love seeing your pics - you tend to take really good ones, and unique views that aren't always seen. one day, the stars will all align, and I'll bump into y'all (Bill & Brit too) at a park. (tho if you let me know when y'all come to Texas, I certainly would make a plan to meet ya at Fiesta)
  15. my 1st visit ever to the park (last year) was for 2 days, and my honest opinion is that I was glad I had 2 days, tho really could have done it in 1. but for things I really wanted re-rides on (and got multiples): Goliath, Twisted Cyclone, Mindbender, Batman, Monster Mansion (!) - it's so F'ed up, I loved it and rode at least a dozen times, Justice League? I was glad I had a 2nd day to go back and didn't mind any lines. I did find many of the coasters to be really 1 & Done for *me* (DareDevilDive, Scorcher, GASM, Blue Hawk, Superman).. but glad I got a lap on them. the best food we had while there? Macho Nacho (it was really good). and several folks hung at the bar directly across from Monster Mansion, and they said the drinks/snacks were good there too. as to "magic seats"? I really enjoyed Twisted Cyclone towards the front left (yeah, its slow going over 1st drop, but when you come up on that amazing wave turn and you SEE it coming in the front? worth it). I also found Goliath to be better in the back, but that could just be me. not a local, but that's my 2cents.
  16. yes, thank you Robb (and Elissa). got my renewal submitted earlier this evening
  17. not my creation, but sums up my feelings perfectly.
  18. meh finale . .most of the final season was terrible, with a few stand out episodes. Wasn't *bad*. . .just "meh" but yeah.. . the finale was too expected, too clean, and left a LOT of script induced stupidity: biggest of which to me was Grey Worm and his troops were JUST executing folks in the streets. *SURE* they didn't immediately execute a character who took that action. . no way do they "imprison". .they kill. script induced idiocy.
  19. love the color, and the layout of this (as straight forward and simple as it is). . but the jewel is, of course, the option of what type of train. I'd go for the Stand Up, if could only choose one. But of course, if there, would ride in all offered options. tho those "comfort collars" are hysterical! dunno I've ever seen a restraint like that
  20. Sorry for your loss, but congrats on the progress! ditto for me too, Jason. Condolences on your loss, and congrats on the progress.
  21. Despite some challenges this past week, managed to stick to my diet & exercise plan for the most part. and weight this morning? 199.2 lbs. So down ~19 lbs since April 1. Ok, I realize I weighed after my walk, and before eating anything, and if I were to weigh after lunch, I'm sure it would go up a bit. but still. . under 200 again! and only 14 lbs from where I'd like to be by Dragon*con in ~3 months. Seems very do-able! so: started back on plan on 4/1 at 218 lbs 1st check in was on 4/14 at 211.6 lbs 2nd check in was on 4/22 at 208.2 lbs 3rd check in was on 4/28 at 206.2 lbs 4th check in was on 5/10 at 201.8 lbs. and today, 5/18: 199.2 lbs. that's my status. bert
  22. glad you had a good time, and some great pics. surprised you didn't have much to say about Ragin Cajun. . . as i thought it was a really fun spinning coaster, and it was among my favorites in the park.
  23. that ride looks so bizarre and fun! and as usual, fantastic pics, Hanno. love em.
  24. ^^ I mean. .. I want to be supportive. but. . . . gross.
