Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

and at Coastermania 2017, the park was basically DEAD during the hours for General public . . we rode everything so much, we didn't even bother with the night time ERT, except for Wilderness Run (and that was only because it was an opportunity to ride it, so why not??). the line for Maverick for the night ERT was longer than the standby line had been during the day! (seriously). . . tho we DID utilize the heck out of morning ERT, and the boat ride was worth the cost of admission on it's own. (the food? was. . . theme park food. . LOL) -

Correct. all entrances opened once the park opened to the public, but for Coastermania we were told to go to main gate only. that's where they have the tents set up for shirts/tags/meal tickets, etc. but once you have those? we went in and out thruout the day using other gates. -
wonderful report, Canobie. El Toro, sadly, still sits (near the top) of my bucket list coasters. (it's in a park i've not been to, yet) but over the past years, I've been making some progress on that list (TPR 2018 USA trip most certainly helped). . .and I'll knock a couple of biggies off my list later this year. so goal in 2020 are: Dollywood, Magic Mountain, and SFGA.

Unless they removed the famous stained glass for the renovations. I fear it has all been destroyed the iconic bell towers have been deemed "safe".. so at least those are still standing. . but yeah, a horrific loss

^ my condolences. my trigger was a quad injury that took me out of regular exercise for 6 weeks. . and by then I had fallen into very bad habits (fast food, sodas) because they were easy, and had a ton of trouble getting back on plan. didn't help that Thanksgiving, Chanukkah/Christmas, Anniversary, Valentines Day, and Birthdays came back to back to back in months Nov-April (still have my Bday on the 25th, but gonna cheat to have cake that day). but now have enough time to take off before my Atlanta trip, so working towards my goal. haven't weighed in since 4/1, when I was 218 -- but will weigh in tomorrow, as going out dancing tonight (so will work off a lot of water weight, plus whatever I drink/eat tonight). but hopefully at LEAST 3-5 lbs in the past 2 weeks. will know tomorrow. -

Congrats on the weight lost already. best of luck! I'm sure you can do it. just stick to it with a goal in sight! (for me: I have Dragon*con in 4 1/2 months . . so that's my go to (vinyl doesn't stretch, so if I want to wear some of my "gear". . gotta lose enough to fit into it).. . and then I have a long ass flight for a trip later in the year, and wanna be comfy in the Economy plane seat!). -

ditto. . great report thus far! don't feel too bad about Mr. Freeze - until our visit last year, I had never gotten to ride it, as it was down EVERY TIME I EVER WENT prior to last year's visit. in fact, it went down after I got my 1 ride in, and wasn't able to get another ride in since my spouse was itching to leave. it's a great ride tho, and hopefully you got on it in part 2. as to Titan? LOVED it when it first opened, before they started trimming to a complete stop prior to that 1st helix (think it's because people were blacking out). Agreed you must have just caught a bum train, because other than my issues with the almost complete stop midcourse? I've always had smooth rides on it. (and you know you rode multiple history - not just 1st RMC, but the mine trains are the 1st tubular coaster tracks. And the log flume, if you got on it, was also the 1st of it's kind. . but I'm sure you got on that in part 2).

A park you've never been to is #3 on your list? I'm trying really hard not to come out and say how insanely stupid that is, but I'll refrain from staying how insanely stupid that is because it may be insulting if I say how insanely stupid that is. So I'll be polite and won't say it. Just commented very similar before seeing you had giving input that matched. I like your phrasing better tho . . . LOL -

Is this a serious question? oh, come on Bill ! How can you not love it? (He ranked Knott's #3 -- without ever setting foot in the place!) -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
bert425 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
even if we assume they are just keeping up with inflation. . those are still really good prices. hell, the per ride at traveling carnivals (or Kemah Boardwalk) are double or triple those. They could triple the prices and I'd still go to Knoebel's. . it's one of my favorite places in the USA (not an unpopular opinion here, I know ) -

while some of your phone pics aren't the best I've ever seen, on several of the "Tree of Life" pics, the camera is doing some wonderful effects with the sunlight - creating some really nice colors. it's almost like you are using a filter. so it worked in your favor. thanks for updating the trip report - tho i admit, I do wonder how you dind't have time for solo rider line on Everest, but had time to shop and do "It's Tough to be a Bug" on the way out? (I woulda totally skipped both side of Primeval Whirl and done Everest a few times) -
