  1. Am I the only one who's really disappointed in the coaster choice? Water coasters do nothing for me, I just think of them as extended flume rides. IMO a hyper coaster would be a much smarter investment, but I am inTerested to see how this thing turns out.
  2. Yep, apparently they let riders on tonight. Still no announcement for the "official opening"
  3. Facebook. Also they just told us to "Prepare ourselves for some news" and even posted a pic of the ride attendants saying theyre excited. Some people are saying its opening for white christmas tonight?
  4. Movieworld still havent announced a date but my estimate is the 26th. Why? Because MW has a tradition of opening rides on Boxing Day. Superman Escape, Lethal Weapon, Wild West Falls and Roadrunner Rollercoaster all opened on boxing day of the year they opened. Only exceptions to this rule are Batwing and Scooby Doo. So I think its entirely plausible itll open on the 26th. EDIT: Movieworld just posted that itll be opening before christmas
  5. I've only been on one wooden coaster, and that was a wooden wild mouse at Aussie World. And it scared the absolute crap out of me.
  6. Most Arrows and Vekomas have the side wheels on the inside of the track and have a tolerance between the wheels and rail, meaning they are not forced to grip the track like Intamin or B&M wheels. This tolerance of the side wheels is generally responsible for the roughness found on these coasters in turns or inversions. Does that mean that if different trains were installed it would fix the problem? Or is the track designed so only trains with that wheel type can run on it?
  7. Im not sure why everyones making them out to be so bad. I've ridden a rough SLC and survived and I'd do it again. To me at least, I didnt find an SLC bad enough to the point of being unrideable.
  8. Kinda pisses me off when stuff like this happens
  9. When people say they're going to a certain country/state you become green with envy because of a nearby awesome park that you wish you could go to.
  10. I'm sad to say it was the Motocoaster at Dreamworld. I was gunna end my day with a ride on the Tower of Terror but my friend wanted to go on the motocoaster as he'd never been on before. I waited an hour for a short, painful crappy ride when I couldve been 100m in the air travelling at 160kph
  11. Thought of one for Aussie World (small amusement park near me) As your expanding and getting more modern rides and slowly becoming a decent theme park, please make a better website than the one you have.
  12. Ive only been on 2 vekomas, one SLC and one suspended family coaster. The SLC I went on was Lethal Weapon, which TPR called a particularly bad SLC for headbanging. Sure, it hurts and I cant ride it more than twice in a row, but I still enjoy it. Probably cos I've never ridden a B&M lol but still I find it a fun ride and headbanging aside, its fairly intense and the BONUS HELIX is fun. I'll admit though, Vekoma know when to stop. After the double inline twist I was praying there were no more inversions and there werent, thank god.
  13. Levaithan, Skyrush and all the wingriders. Wild eagle at dollywood especially, its technically a hypercoaster as well as an inverting wingrider Unfortunately I wont be travelling to US or Canada next year so the only new coaster I'll be riding next year will be SWARM at thorpe park when I go next July. That brings me to the other thing I'm excited about, and thats riding B&M's all July in UK Going to Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Drayton Manor and Blackpool Pleasure Beach and I'm looking forward to riding my first "big" coasters outside of Australia. A few years ago I was travelling to New Jersey, Canada, Florida and UK but I havent got into coasters until now which sucks as now I cant afford to travel to America. I was in NJ 2 years ago... El Toro, Nitro...
  14. The rollercoaster part. I think it looks awesome. Apparently raptor at gardaland is great so I'm sure this will be even better.
  15. Warner Bros Movieworld: -Do something to fix that death machine of an SLC (they have got new trains in from KumbaK that should be better but it'll still be a rough ride). Either that or knock it down and build a good coaster in its place. -Bring back the mist effects on the Superman Escape -Fix the horrendous amount of downtime the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster has. Dreamworld -If there is any way to possibly make the Tower of Terror a bit quieter, that would be great. -A few of the rides really need a lick of paint.
  16. Yeah being scared of a ride isnt bad. Maybe he just wanted to go there for the dark rides and scenery and stuff. I know when I go to Dreamworld the star attraction is probably the Giant Drop, but I havent gathered the courage to ride it as I dont like heights very much. But I've been on other rides there and when I go I still have a great time.
  17. Ok, cool. Thanks for answering.
  18. Yeah they wouldve meant SEFK. Because clearly if it has superman in its name its the same thing, they have one exactly like it at Darien Lake and Six Flags Over Georgia too I hear
  19. Yeah good point, I guess and El Loco and a Skyloop arent worth it. Hopefully by your next trip we'll have something decent and B&M-ish to show off
  20. I have much higher hopes of this park opening than Dubailand. I lived in Dubai and in 2006 they announced that it would be ready by 2010, however only the headquatures is built. I know its because of the financial crisis, but Dubai is just being stupid with all these projects theyre planning. Theyre also planning to build another Palm Island with a Busch Gardens and Seaworld park. Just stick to the one project Dubai, or you wont get anywhere.
  21. Ooh thought of another. Cant remember which ride, but on a POV video for a coaster which had a description saying the ride's correct stats some idiot commented saying: "Its actually (different stats to description) I think I would know as I went on it 3 times yesterday." Really? So by riding a ride you automatically know every single detail about it? I also love how on Robb's videos the sarcasm and jokes he does goes straight over so many peoples heads and they say things like "OMG ur like screamin on a baby ride you pusseh go on da King da ka omz its so amazing !!!1one" And on the Montu POV when Robb was joking about not knowing it goes upside down all these idiots were saying that hes stupid and pathetic for not knowing that. The funniest thing was I saw one person reply saying "to the guy who made the video: its ok i didnt know it went upside down either but i found it really fun " I cracked up laughing.
  22. I found a GP post on the SFDK page from none other than the park itself! I dont know if thats an ad for Superman Ultimate Flight due to the fact they got the name wrong, and posted a picture of a coaster from the other side of the world. WTF six flags? Some of the comments on that post are even worse: "WILL THAT RIDE BE AT ALL 6 FLAGS PARK?" (At least he knew theres more than one) ‎ "^^^ Intamin rocks, don't be mad they use an Intamin AG ride" (Yeah, still a ride from another company) And then when the intellegent people picked up the ride in the pic was Superman Escape, good old Captain Lee himself (whoever he is) said that its not. Also, look on the SFMM page and read posts by a "Kyle Kirk". He seems to know his facts about coasters but he says the strangest stuff (god I hope he isnt a member on here lol sorry if you are). This was the most nonsensical thing: I would you come ordering another giant inverted boomerang for 2013 and name it Deja Vu to put in the same spot where your old Deja Vu was because there are no other good rides that can fit there and the only ride that can fit there is Deja Vu.
  23. I love how on POV ids the GP say the weirdest comments. Some of the funniest ones are when they say somethings a copy of something else, yet the coaster in the video is the original. Also I found it funny when I saw a video for Batman at SFGA and someone said it's a copy of the one at SFOG. No shit Sherlock, that's kinda the point Also, I saw a video for Bizarro (SFNE) and one of the best comments was "What a bad ride its like for babies it doesn't even go upside down what a ripoff" I love how the GP thinks that the taller and faster the ride, the better. I read so many things about people saying Kingda Ka is the best coaster on earth. Also another funny one was on a video for Nemesis Inferno someone asked if your feet touch the ground
