Wait, you're taking down the tallest and fastest coaster in the world after you took out the most awesome looking Intamin Wingrider? There must be a crime against this Nah, I have faith you'll think up something awesome, and I agree it didn't really suit the park. I really wish you'd kept Demon's Inferno though I just find it a bit unrealistic that a park would remove their star attraction, especially a record holder like that.

Did it break down while you were there? I went a few weeks after it opened and it literally broke down every 5 minutes. They'd do 2 cars full of people, then it'd break down and they'd run 4 test cars, repeat, repeat. I know it was a new ride but its downtime was horrendous. Also the queue line audio is unbearable on a hot day, I REALLY don't want to hear the Green Lantern oath every 10 seconds (not an exaggeration). -

I agree, this ride has the potential to be one of Intamins best hypers. And considering pretty much all of their hypers have made it into the top 20 on the Mitch Hawker Poll, that is saying a lot. -

Nice TR, would've been better with pics Ive noticed with scooby doo it gets faster and therefore rougher later in the day. On my last ride (which was the last ride of the day before the park shut) it was flying through the hairpins, it was insane! Green Lantern is a cool coaster, though Im surprised you called the capacity good. In my experience, the loading times on that ride are appalling and the queue gets very long very easily. But I agree, the trims really add to the suspense of the drop, much like diving machine holding breaks. The lap bars are an excellent addition, glad they didn't go with the normal El Loco restraints as Ive heard they're quite painful. -
Weird roller coasters.

Holy crap that coaster is insane! Thanks for the info, and I thought maybe the robocoaster was inspired by dark rides like Harry Potter. And I saw that Miami Dolphins coaster when I lived in Dubai, I actually rode it too. Most pointless, weird as hell coaster ever lmao -

Really don't like Khans new paint job, way too supermanish. Would've preferred orange track with pale blue supports. But Shambhala keeps getting better and better, its absolutely stunning. Portaventura is really getting an awesome collection of coasters: An amazing B&M hyper and B&M looper, a unique Intamin Rocket coaster and a CCI racer that looks like it could be potentially awesome if its trains were replaced with PTC's as they should be. Why did they go with the (Was it gerstlauer?) trains anyway? -
Weird roller coasters.

Sorry its an old post but where is that? I always assumed the Sea Serpent shuttle in RCT3 was made up. Goes to show that all of the designs in RCT3 are real (except the Robo Coaster?) -
Love how earlier in this thread someone said they hope the track doesn't remain baby vomit green and now the whole thing is being painted that colour Not sure what I think about the new colour. I usually don't like rides with one color for both the supports and track (unless its grey or black) so Im a bit uncertain. Would've been nice if they'd gone for the Blue and Orange paint scheme like Stunt Fall at Parque Warner Madrid but isn't that the same color as flashback? I really liked the color in the concept art.

Maybe its the angle but it looks like you'll get an awesome head chopper effect on the way down! -

That FunandOnly guy is awesome. Someone commented on the Green Lantern (SFGA) POV saying "Green Lantern at Movieworld is better" and I disagreed, saying that a B&M standup is much better than a cloned El Loco. Funandonly replied this to me: wake up and smell teh weed. teh olny parks tht still hav T&M standups r six fags parks. notice tht not 1 six fag park has an B&S el loco motive. becaus six fargs has a unsatisfied hunger for bad costers, u can determine from this fact tht el locomotives > standusp This guy is a genius. Watch his videos and read the comments, its hilarious how many people don't realize he's trolling. -

I have no idea why my post simply saying I dislike the map was deleted. But I'll say it again. I dislike the map as it is very messy, however its a good point that its more of a "guide". -

^ True, but you'd think the GP would go crazy over Nemesis as "It GoEz UpSIDe down OMzZ". I think GP like Thirteen as Alton Towers have managed to convince them its the terrifying ride they're marketing it as. More gems from the Alton Towers Facebook page on a pic of nemesis: its cool but would be better id the seats were on the top off the rails, just a suggestion....... *Facepalm* Its called an inverted coaster for a reason. Isn't that good. All the signs around it, 'most extreme ride in the country' ha. Obviously hasn't ridden it. its lookin a little rusty, maybe time to take it down and build a bigger better nemesis? Yes, rust is a perfect reason to tear down the best ride in the UK. I could go all day... -
Well swarm at thorpe park has an inversion as a first drop identical to X Flight. G Force at drayton manor sort of has a weird chain lift/loop/first drop inversion thing. Also S&S Screaming Squirrels like Sequoia Adventure at Gardaland have a series of inverting drops. There are probably others I can't think of right now.

australianalex replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the GP thing that pisses me off the most which I see a lot is when people say Thirteen is the best coaster in Alton Towers. I mean seriously? How can anyone say that about an over glorified family coaster with trims on the first drop when possibly the best inverted coaster in the world is in the same park? Nothing at Alton Towers, or even the whole of Britain, comes close to the awesomeness of Nemesis. -
Zero-Gravity roller coaster?
