Or being the greeter at the attraction telling them they aren't tall enough anymore, despite them showing you a photo they were on it already... and then trying to explain the situation to a bunch of parents that their kids aren't tall enough (anymore). Mind as well just have a supervisor staked out up front permanently. That really sucks. I feel like something had to have "happened" to make this change as a knee jerk reaction.... right?

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

They are doing a pass member preview the Sunday prior to opening week, April 24. Usually I couldn't care less because usually it's just a partial day thing, but they are actually open all day. Provided the border isn't having issues, I may end up going and suffer all the break downs lol. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/events/season-passholder-sneak-preview I'm hoping they still do FL+ for the preview day, so I can get use out of that sweet sweet all season fast lane that got extended. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

A 620 page report was released by a news station with witness accounts from the park, maintenance records, photos of the area, etc. I won't post it only because it lists names and addresses that should probably be redacted, and I would hate to have my personal info leaked like this, but I skimmed through it and also read all the witness statements. I'm always intrigued by what people "think" they saw... ie: there was a call stating someone fell out the ride, that a piece of iron dragon flew off, etc. But there is a lot of insight as to what happened immediately after the event occurred. Very sad to read about what she went through. -
It more means "hey we're gonna start charging you now even if you don't use it". But yeah the two q&a things sort of contradict themselves. Otherwise everyone would just buy a SF Mexico membership if it was already activated and didn't require going to your home park. I always hated the way SF does this because SFDL is my local park but it opens later than all the other ones I want to visit so we are screwed getting gadv/SFA/SFNE perks that I will never use when I'd rather have them at my home park. Cedar Fair charges the same for their platinum at all parks and gives the same perks for everyone (except for their newer "pass perks" lottery thing and any bonuses) with the exception of Wonderland which is Canadian dollars.

You mean a Six Flags thing, not just a LaRonde thing. Plot twist: Darien Lake ends up with the ride, fully built -

Ah yes, brings me back to the 3am Top Thrill Dragster ride I had long ago. Breakdown after breakdown after breakdown, but they still let you wait in line and never kicked anyone out despite it being 5 hours after closing time. The good old days. lol. -
I won't be so mad if I can use my Wonderland platinum pass i bought in Aug 2019 for SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Tampa this summer since all the Canadian passes got extended again. Along with the all season FL+ (ha). MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!! But in all seriousness, I'm still undecided in my true feelings of all of this. I was NOT expecting this to be all over my feeds this morning. Even if it doesn't happen, it is still interesting to think about.

The whole park will close before they decide to remove Ride of Steel (good news!). Or, if they do remove it ahead of its closure, then the whole park will be closing soon after anyways. Or maybe it will turn into a water park-only like Geauga Lake... Seriously though, it's in the middle of nowhere. They can't staff it. They can't maintain it. They can't afford anything in their budget. The lawsuits didn't help any. Relocating or selling the rides is probably their best option at this point. Honestly, I'd give them 2 more seasons max. Be sure to bookmark this post. I'm not glad about it, but there is no doubt this place is, and has been, dying.

With Magic Mountain changing up EVERYTHING today https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/store/tickets , I think now would be a good time to get my "pay in full" gold+ pass from Darien Lake for $65 good at all parks before they start changing everything. The thing I always hate about SF though is that SFDL doesn't open until May, and the other parks open earlier and it's when I tend to visit another park. Either that or I don't see myself visiting Six Flags this year at all since I still have my Wonderland platinum pass w/ FL+ and might go on a Cedar Fair adventure instead. It wouldn't be worth it for me at what I expect the new rates will be just to go to an 'occasional' Six Flags Park. Notable changes: - blackout dates for all passes except ultimate - payment plan is 4 payments, not good for the lowest tier - meals every visit is no longer a thing, you prepay a set # of meals or get 10 with the ultimate pass - the perks are way less for a lot more $$$

lol. Nice proofreading on the news release. Also in addition to the pay per ride, it looks like SFMM is the first to launch the new pass levels, though I'd imagine it should go in the main Six Flags corporate thread as I'm assuming it will be rolling out to more parks soon. Now the employees will have to deal with legacy memberships which they are discontinuing for new purchases, and 3 more tiers of season passes completely separate from gold+, platinum, diamond, diamond elite, diamond elite VIP..... meaning there are now technically 9 different pass levels for SFMM... The new pass levels are not very budget friendly, and the perks are much lower for higher cost. Also gone are the days of unlimited meal visits throughout the year. The payment plan is only good on the two highest passes and it's only 4 payments max.

Absolutely stunning photos ! Wow! Thanks for sharing I love the reaction shots they are so clear and it's cool seeing the variety of emotions lol. Velocicoaster really is as beast of a ride. Also loved the BGT pics. Well done. What equipment do you use, out of curiosity? I'm sure you've mentioned it somewhere...

The twinkly tree is coming down today I have some good video of the 4500 lights (yes, on one tree) but they are too big for the forums. My favorite being the candy cane animation. happy new year!

Another great TPR Facebook caption: Edit: image upload isn't working. On the Batman video: "Upside down your wacky pigs" -
I understand the sentence. I just don't understand how one would ride a steel hypercoaster based on the comparison of riding a wooden coaster with a 87 foot drop. That's like saying you rode the ladybug kiddy coaster so now you're ready for Steel Vengeance. I just thought it was funny, that's all. Good on them for riding more coasters, I just don't understand the comparison or why one would compel them to ride the other.

https://magicoflights.com/ As golddisk mentioned, it's an outside vendor that puts on the same cookie cutter scenes across the country. I dunno why those cutouts bother me so much, it just screams "lazy" to me. Hopefully there's more to it. I'll find out sooner or later, and I'm sure someone will post a YouTube video soon. I also like how they are advertising one carload one price* (except six flags Darien Lake)
