  1. Disappointed that pretty much every food place directed people to the lazy bear lodge / closed with signs out front. They only have 5 or 6 food options at the lodge. I could understand sending people there with more choices but a ton of food places were closed today. Rode Tundra Twister today for the first time. I gotta say it was a bit underwhelming. Not as fast as I had hoped and we didn't really flip just had one extended upside-down move but other than that pretty lackluster. I'll give it another shot later this season may have just been a bad cycle or weight distribution. Also shout out to the ""iiiiiiitttttssss HAMMMMERRRRRR TIMMMMMEEE" guy. I dunno how you do it all day but you are legendary. If you know, you know.
  2. Completely agree. The ride is running fantastic, despite only getting 2 rides in yesterday (one near front, one near back). That will change today, going to get a bunch in since I'm going to focus on Voyage and Thunderbird (which I haven't been on yet this trip) today. I rode Raven ~15 times yesterday in the dark but there's one small dip near the end that jostled me quite a bit each time but other than that I thought it was great as well. Not the same smoothness but not enough roughness to give me a headache after that many rides
  3. I did see the Tillamook this year at the regular ice cream scoop shop. There are big signs of Perry's ice cream at the custard stand. I've had Perry's custard many places before, it's also listed on their website.
  4. Holiday World is now selling beer, wine, and frozen cocktails!
  5. Went on Memorial Day just to process my pass. I don't know if it came from the Mind Eraser lake or what, but walking through the parking lot smelled like literal poop. Another upgrade is that even though you reserve diamond parking, there is no attendant and they just let anyone park there, so it was obviously full despite a reservation. Predator was legitimately fun, even in the back seat. Ride of Steel was running well. Those are the only two rides I went on so I can't report on anything past the custard stand, lol. Custard was clearly not Perry's as advertised as I'm an expert in custard
  6. So let me preface by saying I know VERY little about DisneyLand. I saw today they released the dates and pricing for Oogie Boogie bash and my wife really wants to go (well, I do too!). I have been to Disney World many many times (both recently and in the past as I used to live in Orlando) but never DLand/California Adventure. So my question is, what makes sense if we are doing OBB and want to do the worthwhile attractions in both parks? I understand there are some duplicate rides to WDW but I'm sure they all have their little nuances as well and may be worth doing anyways. OBB goes from 3pm (3 hours before the actual event) to 11pm. So 8 hours total. Is that enough time to do everything at California Adventure? Pricing wise I would hate to buy another ticket just for the morning and thought maybe doing KNOTTS in the AM would make sense whatever day we do Cali Adventure / OBB (we have been to Knott's a few times before so it's not urgent to do everything, but there are a few new things. And we have Cedar Fair Platinum passes. I still have to look at park hours and days) We would then buy a one day ticket for Disney Land on a second day. Does this plan sounds feasible? Is there a better way to go about this? Knotts is super close to the parks it looks like and we'd like to maximize stuff in as little time as possible. Is a 3rd day required (so 2 day / 1 park per day + California Adventure Oogie Boogie) to really do everything? Or should the two work out. I'll do more research on the attractions because like I said I really only know about 5 rides (haunted mansion holiday, cars/ radiator springs, guardians drop tower, rise of the resistance, and the loopy coaster themed to the Incredibles). Honestly I don't know much more or what crowds would be like. OBB happens on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays but we would probably choose during the week in early September. Anything else I need to know as a first timer? Thanks in advance! I will do a TON more research, but just need a starting point / opinions from you all to help guide me. EDIT: I have no problem purchasing Genie+ for $25 ea for our day at DLand. But I wouldn't get it for the OBB day at California Adventure since I'm guessing it wouldn't be needed/they don't offer it? EDIT 2: it sounds like my wife doesn't went to rush through DCA and Oogie boogie the same day, so we would likely do a 2 day ticket PLUS Oogie boogie only on a separate day. And I'm guessing genie+ would be worth it? We'd be going on "tier 0" days, though. But $25 ea doesn't seem like much in the grand scheme of things
  7. Looks like SeaWorld is trying to boost their attendance numbers the next month and a half! https://seaworld.com/orlando/annual-pass/passport-to-summer/ I don't think I've ever seen anything like this at a park. Annoying that you have to collect vouchers instead of it keeping track automatically but interesting to say the least. I know most might only get some free popcorn but at least it's something
  8. Here's a super secret link to get you access without a work account: https://www.ticketsatwork.com/affiliates/lifecare/packages.php?sub=packages&action=view&id=363
  9. Damn I thought today was opening day when I saw this in the app. Looks like it still has a ways to go in the surrounding area, though. Was a nice day at the park though. Even around 1pm Leviathan and Behemoth were at the bottom of the stairs, Yukon Striker was a 5 min wait at the entrance, Vortex, flats, and Backlot waits were minimal as well. Had a nice 4 hour day I was starting to get a little nauseous as it was my first park of the year and I have to build up my tolerance again. It was nice to be back! Food at the lodge was good; we decided to get meal plans this year. Looking forward to seeing the new ride at full speed.
  10. I wonder when Tundra Twister will open. I'll be visiting this weekend (hopefully) and while I hate spinny rides, I really want to ride that thing lol.
  11. I think I'm in the minority who thought the ride was... "Ok". It gave me a terrible headache and the timberliners vibrate to all hell, but I've been on much worse wooden coasters. I'm all for this move curious what they do with it.
  12. Sorry if this is the wrong thread I wasn't sure if this was both FL fun spot parks or not, but news came out of left field that Mine Blower at Fun Spot Kissimmee is getting the RMC treatment? Well, no news yet, but track is on-site... Whoah.
  13. (Screen cap from a video they just uploaded) Ice Breaker is back open with no comfort collars, an added seatbelt, and a 48" height requirement! Also: Pipeline: The Surf Coaster made it's first full circuit test run! Exciting stuff!
  14. You should be by now... you're only there more than anyone else in the country that lives outside of Florida. Seriously. Just move already! I have nothing else to contribute.
  15. The completely removed rides from the site make sense and I wouldn't expect them to reopen anytime soon, but I wouldn't put too much thought into the "closed for the season" ones...
  16. A decorative helicopter crashed... https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/bergen/east-rutherford/2023/02/19/american-dream-water-park-nj-helicopter-falls-into-pool-four-injured/69921406007/
  17. Official CGI POV was released by the park. Looks nice https://fb.watch/iuhfngYXhS/
  18. Great writeup. I've ridden my share of really good top spins, but Tolocan is a whole different level of extreme. Like you said, the G's it pulls are absolutely insane. Not even taking into account the awesome fire and water effects.
  19. We had an amazing time at the hotel as well, totally worth it. I was skeptical at first, but it was awesome. The food was great, it really wasn't that expensive to be on site given the meals, fast passes, etc and you literally just have to walk down a set of stairs from your room and be in the park. Having a coaster wrap around your room is the equivalent of having a beach house on the ocean... but for coaster enthusiasts Though... *we* didn't get free chocolate!?!?! lol what's up with that!
  20. For the love of God, just, no. The children of today should never be subjected to this "joke". Carry on. So how about those howl-o-weekends? We didn't get to go this year (first year missed since 2012 or so). I feel like it's been on a pretty steady decline (either that or because I've done so many local haunts everywhere that it just doesn't do it for me anymore, or because it just doesn't change much from year to year house-wise), how were the new house (s?) this year?
  21. I was today years old when I learned there's more than one path on Hagrids. (I've only been on it once, but this is the first I've heard of anyone speak of it)
