Interesting that they are opening blackout on a random day in May (well, day before coasterstock) during one of the ERT days. Never seen a park do something like that before.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. I know everyone says this, but it's only 99% true. The only true way to experience (the smallest of the 3 falls that make up Niagara Falls) is THE CAVE OF THE WINDS on the US side. It's awesome. Even as a local who gives zero shits about the falls I always make sure to take people to experience it. Besides that though, yes, you are 100% correct. I took my fiance on demon drop... thankful for me there was no line and she didn't really look at the ride so she had no idea what to expect. When it started to creep forward at the top she had the biggest WTF is happening look on her face. Then we dropped and ended up on our backs and she was in disbelief. She is not normally a fan of drop rides but she loved it! Between that and my first experience on falcon's fury (where her mom yelled "*UCK A DUCK!!!" at the top of her lungs as it started to tilt)... I don't know.

I've been to Holiday World a few times before so I know what I'm in for there and how important it is to do the water park 8) Good call on the time difference I did forget about that and that would give us an extra hour at KK. I wanted to avoid Sunday at KK as there is some other event going on; I think one enthusiast event / 2 days is enough for me in a weekend lol. I'll end up going to the Cincinnati Zoo on Sunday and then making a trip to Kings Island on that Monday as well. I've never been on a ride like Cyclos so that will be a definite, even though I'm 50/50 when it comes to getting sick on pendulum rides... but that one looks unique enough for sure 8) Thanks for all the help! Oh, does T3 have the newer vest restraints, or are they the old head bashers? I vaguely remember reading they updated them but maybe it was a different park.

Thanks for all the tips! We would want to do all the coasters once with rerides on the big two. Some flats thrown in as well and probably a meal or snack if there is something worthwhile/unique/must have Actually after looking at the hours we would probably go Friday morning June 2nd at opening, before the first night of Holliwood Nights starts. I think that would be enough time and we can cram in a full day then.

Expensive yet delicious? I don't know... I went on Vortex many many years ago and was pretty traumatized by it (so much so that at SFGAM the only ride I skipped was Demon because it even LOOKED like it, lol); the fact I have been back to KI maybe 3 more times since and never gave it another shot is pretty bad. I'll be going this summer and I'll give it another shot but something tells me I'm going to regret it I've been on other Arrows and enjoyed them, but I just remember Vortex being terrible... and I usually find something good in all coasters. It looks like I'm the minority here, though.

Realistically how long would it take to 'do' this park, not including the water park (since we will be doing Holiday World / Splashin Safari)? Is a few hours sufficient on a Sunday? I havnt really done my research yet. Any secret tips (best food, surprising ride, unique stuff? etc?) -- What are lines like for storm chaser on a busy day? (because busy at Dorney is 5 minutes but busy at Cedar Point is 2.5 hours) Google says people spend 4.5 hours there so I'm thinking a full day is definitely not needed. But maybe there is something I don't know Thanks!

Yes. It will be fun regardless. Temperatures can affect coaster speed but it's not as noticeable on rides that don't have airtime hills to be honest. Kraken doesn't have as much speed variability as other rides.

Kraken... tame? What?? Granted i haven't been on it the last 3 years, I rode that thing at least 100 times and I would never consider it tame. As far as the rattle, just go to Seaworld during the viva la musica festival, close your eyes, and pretend you are in a Mariachi band.

I'm the friendliest guy on the planet but the wicked cyclone groupers (and rest of the staff at the ride) were brutal one time we went. Even if the grouper lets you pick when we asked nicely, the rest of the staff will scoff at you and tell you to move down (which is somewhat understandable because now everyone else will feel they can pick where they want). The flash passes made it tough to get the back (even when we politely mentioned we got the front car 4 times in a row and we suggested letting the regular queue go and just throw us on the tail end therefore still loading the station from front to back and nobody was behind us on flash pass, but they still didn't get it -- we never got mad or angry or fought with them but it just didn't make sense to us), but at least on the regular line you can have people go in front of you at the bottom of the stairs and count things out yourself. It's a little ridiculous we had to do that but we eventually got near the back. I should note we didn't have issues asking at other rides at SFNE, though... much like any other park we've been to. (minus Fury which was the only other exception when one grouper in particular that instead of saying no, just liked to yell at everyone for even asking... not just us but people who wanted to wait for the front)

Houdini is frickin awesome (except that it takes about 25 minutes to load because people don't want to leave their purse in a hallway and don't understand the no loose article policy granted the ride is not intense and it shouldn't matter that you have a purse considering you can bring on a one year old child and you may or may not actually flip upside down but the no loose article policy only adds to the illusion why am I still talking in parenthesis) and Bill is right... if you think Great Adventure's is in bad shape don't bother with New England's.
