  2. Just found this... never seen a pass where you go to a bunch of different rides in time windows, but I guess it makes sense. Reading elsewhere it's $50 in the summer. http://www.amusementparkmom.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2015-04-03_10-36-33_977.jpg
  3. Anybody know the cost of the fast track? I'm guessing it might fluctuate, but what about on a busy weekend? Sounds like it's not the most ideal but I have to plan for the worst on labor day weekend.
  4. Quick questions about Phantom Fright Nights... A) Do they do any of the "vip tours" (just seems like a 1 time fast pass for a group of rides?) for the regular rides during the night? B) Do they offer any sort of quick pass for the haunted houses / mazes? I'll only be able to attend on a Saturday for Fright Nights, and I have a feeling I won't be able to get in everything I want unless they offer something during this time. I haven't been to the park in several years. Thanks!
  5. Progresso Lipton Campbell? Much more reliable than the lemon chill guy. Sorry, it made me laugh that you were talking to a soup.
  6. Great video. I'd be careful about using the cedar point logo, however. Fantastic trailer. A+++ would watch again
  7. Got a platinum flash pass and took my first visit to SFNE this year and I have to say Wicked Cyclone and RMC is the real deal. Blown away by the airtime, the feeling through the inversions, and the comfort of the trains even when stapled. Rode 10 times on Saturday and could have easily done 40 more but the ride is exhausting... much in the way i felt on Voyage you just hit the brake run exhausted. Exciting from start to (almost) finish. Fir WC, shortest stand-by line was 30 min at the beginning of the day and easily hit 45-60 min (entrance?) based on what people were saying. Longest reservation time was 3 minutes, the walk around took forever (first world problems) If i had to rank, which i hate doing, definitely up there in my top 3 coasters, possibly my new favorite. The platinum flash pass was amazing the longest wait was 1 train for Bizarro (so, 3 minutes for a double ride). Saved more than 10 hours in line and the reservation was always ready way before we got to a ride. Every ride you immediately walked on unlike cedar point. Hit front row and back row on many rides. Wicked cyclone is great because they are super strict on row designation but since you are in a separate line you can just ask grouper to let people in front of you (otherwise you almost always get front row! Which is not a bad thing!) Longest reservation was 7 minutes for Goliath and pandemonium, but you can reserve the second it gets scanned at another ride. Awesome day. Though Bizarro and the state of Goliath were disappointing. Wicked Cyclone made up for both of them.
  8. Can anyone verify that the batman dark knight floorless coaster is included on flash pass still? The six flags app, the website, and the mobile purchasing page all do not have it listed as one of the rides. Going on Saturday and would be a let down if it's not included.
  9. There are definitely ways to spice up these 'boring' coasters. Imagine a dive machine that went underground / into a tunnel for a while... maybe even a high speed turn thrown in where it is completely dark. Or what if it went from one huge hill with holding break directly into another with a holding brake, followed by some airtime hills which we have not seen on a dive coaster. Not saying any of this will happen, but how would that not be exciting? Nobody said the layouts have to be like the others.
  10. The pacing in videos I saw, mainly after the loop, looked a little underwhelming but after riding it a few times it's definitely more exciting than Gatekeeper was from start to finish. There are parts of gatekeeper I really like, mainly the keyhole, but overall I think Thunderbird is a much bigger hit. I definitely felt front left was THE seat to be in. Your milage may vary. I have not been on any other wing coaster (does x2 count?) so I can't really compare, but I definitely prefer the launch over a lift hill
  11. First, here is the video I filmed at Holiwood Nights 2015!! OUR FIRST NIGHT... WATUBEE Gave a pretty good ride. They had a tough time at the top pushing all 4 of us down in one raft. I apologize to the staff for being so large. She says it's OK [with a smile!]. This was just the start of the craziness that would be the rest of the night. ZOOMBABWE An enclosed family raft ride. It was like a crazy time warp tunnel. Crazy intense. Flying up the sides just wanting to throw us off the raft. Things were flying by on the walls like the crazy boat ride in Willy Wonka. We all walk off dizzy and wonder what the hell just happened. I have never felt so disoriented after a ride before, let alone a waterslide. ZINGA A tornado slide. My girlfriend hits the tornado backwards and she felt pure terror as she almost flips off. (or feels like it, anyways) We take a break on the lazy river to amend the pains of all the stairs. Next we go to the picnic grove as we wait for ERT to start in the water park for the water coasters. 'Back to the Future' references are everywhere (the theme was Track to the Future). The dance scene banner. Our itinerary sheet in reference to the sports almanac. Holidog is dressed up as Marty McFly. Music from the movie is playing throughout the park and on the water coaster lift hills. They surprise us with an array of food that left us in a haze. Boneless wings. Pretzel bites. Sliders. Mashed potatoes. Chips and salsa and guacamole, and other snacks. All on the beach of the wave pool. MAMMOTH The first water coaster (no stairs!) we tackle is Mammoth and it was absolutely insane. Magnetic launches take you up a series of 6+ hills. We laughed and screamed the entire time. The water falls and surprise tunnels cover you in water. You get airtime over the hills. Such a fun ride, though it was a bit freezing. We try to warm up in the wave pool and have an awesome time crashing against the waves in the perfect spot. WILDEBEEST Next up was the water coaster Wildebeest (no stairs!). More insanity and so much fun. More airtime on a waterslide and more magnetic launches. We ride twice and go back to Mammoth for a night ride. We wonder what the hell just happened in the darkness of the tunnels where we get pumbled with water seemingly out of nowhere. Simply the best water slides in the world. Now it was time to tackle the coasters.... all in the dark. My girlfriend hasn't been on any of the 4 coasters yet. She had no idea what she was getting into. RAVEN Raven at night was pure bliss. I hear my girlfriend make screams and sounds i have never heard before. The lateral Gs whip us around like ragdolls. The airtime in the dark catches us offguard. I was impressed with our backseat ride and we are all breathless on the brake run. LEGEND Legend was next. Has never been my favorite coaster, as the ride whips you sideways out of your seat and take you through several tunnels. Intense, but somewhat uncomfortable for me due to the side to side jarring. I still enjoyed it. Another back seat ride. VOYAGE Now it was time for the Voyage, the third wooden coaster. Insanity. Not nearly as rough as I remember last time. I've been on this so many times and it still always catches me off guard. I love this thing and I still think it's the most intense coaster I've EVER been on. My girlfriend says that Raven took her more by surprise, probably since it was her first coaster ride and they are all insane. THUNDERBIRD Now the long hike to Thunderbird, a launched Wing Coaster. The station on this guy is themed beautifully. The rumble of the thunder and the launch set off ALL the lights to flicker in the queue and station. We start in the back seat. The launch is great. The zero-g roll is amazing and feels like it lasts for two rolls. The sense of soaring like a bird is definitely felt. I thought it was a pretty fun ride, but didn't blow me away. Now we take the front seat and everything changes. The launch through the fog is great. There is a greater sense of speed in the front. Much like Dragster I feel like this is a front seat ride for sure. FRONT LEFT! We circle back to Voyage for a front seat ride and while it was obviously forceful it is a bit gentler in the front. Still an awesome ride. Lastly we head to Raven for the last ride of the day in the front seat. Great ride as always but I will always prefer the back. Our first night was absolutely amazing. Even the water park ERT alone was worth the 9 hour drive. The rest was just an awesome awesome bonus. Day 2: Tired, hurting, walkback, tired, hurting, more fun, hurting, dead, want to go back for more SUGGESTION: I think next year they should create the "TURKEY TAXI" which is a golf cart that takes guests from Raven to Thunderbird. It costs $10-20 to ride but benefits go to charity. They could even put a giant turkey on top! They would raise an amazing amount of money from me alone the walks can be brutal! IN SUMMARY... The park was awesome. Fantastic staff, fantastic food, and fantastic event. My girlfriend said to me "this is the friendliest park I have ever been to" and I completely agree. Her favorite movie is BTTF and this was her first time to the park and she loved every little detail. Although I wasn't able to get a zillion rides in and I was battered and bruised (in a good way), it is an event I will always enjoy. A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!
  12. I didn't think they needed the second train when I was there, just an observation. Of course I went on everything early so I have no idea how lines picked up.
  13. Went to the park yesterday / memorial day, for the first time in several years (though I did get a season pass)... I got there at opening, and literally everything I did below was a walk-on, except for the giant wheel which had a ~5 minute line. As it has been mentioned before literally EVERY coaster has 1 train, and did not have any on the transfers / etc. Some observations and comments: Predator: Skipped. I'll save it for another day. Didn't feel like getting jarred around. Ride of Steel: My first notice was just TONS of garbage everywhere, along the queue line walk to the station, and a ridiculous amount between the lift track and the station (restricted area). Absolutely disgusting. The second thing I noticed was one of the kicker wheels in the station (the ones that advance the train) was completely ripped to shreds. A lot of them looked bad and ready to be ripped soon, but this was completely shredded... apparently they thought it was OK to run the ride anyway. Anyway, onto the ride itself, it rode great, I took a ride in the back seat, not as much shaking as I remember previously, and the ride was a lot of fun. Still dislike the shin guards especially that I'm taller, but obviously something that has to be dealt with. Boomerang: I have never seen a cable lift on a boomerang go so slow. Much smoother ride than I was anticipating, I actually enjoyed it. Motocoaster: Nothing worthwhile of mention Twister: I thought for sure there was NO WAY a weight limit of UNDER 200 lb's was put on this ride, but sure enough, there was. I didn't ride it. Not because I would have felt unsafe, I have fit on the ride before, but I just had no interest as it wasn't doing the flips that it used to do "back in the day". Viper: Love the train design, not sure when it got changed but I haven't seen a wrap like that before on an arrow looper. Cool snake design. Rode nicely as well. Grizzly Run: Fun ride! All the waterfalls were on and got completely soaked. The canons that the employees use to spray were on as well, and it gave a good scare to my girlfriend! lol Mind Eraser: Not too bad. The ending was a little head-bangy as per every SLC, but the ride itself was actually quite smooth. Log Flume: Nothing to mention... fun! Shipwreck Falls: Nothing to mention. Corn Popper: Nothing to mention Giant wheel: Very short cycle. General comments: A lot of the rides looked really nice. Silver Bullet looks like it had a fresh paint job, Giant Wheel, as well as some other rides. Some look old and worn, like Ride of Steel, but the park did look nice paint-wise. No closed rides that I can think of other than Ranger. Was actually shocked. Rolling Thunder looked like a lot of fun, way better than ranger (which was closed, BTW). I am going to save it for another day I didn't want to risk getting sick on it. Brain Drain, did not ride yet. Saving the waterpark for another day. Overall I was actually kind of impressed in the sense that I didn't have to wait in any lines and was out in 2 hours (how do people stay at the hotel and enjoy multiple days here? I will never know.) Didn't leave disappointed. While I had short lines, as I was leaving the park at 1:00p cars were backed up on the road, and the brain drain line looked to go almost all the way down the stairs. Didn't really catch any of the other lines as the day went on. Thought it was odd they closed at 8pm on Memorial Day (no laser show on Memorial day!?).
  14. Those "new" trains on Millennium Force may just be having a placebo effect, but I definitely had more airtime than I've ever felt before over all the hills after the first drop. What I used to think was a 'meh' ride was turned into a fantastic one the other day
  15. A good grouper shouldn't need to rely on a single rider line (though it helps for sure). Not sure how the ride is setup at sfmm but two odd numbers make an even number it's not too difficult if you try hard enough you have a group of 3 you have an even group next you don't put them in the next row you put them somewhere else and then your next group of 3 or 5 goes with the previous group of 3... Fill the ends and work your way to the middle
  16. I'm still amazed how smoothly opening day went at Canada's Wonderland went after reading all these reports from other parks. Not only did they open a week earlier but they are farther up north in the cold, windseeker was the only ride closed for the day I can recall, and every coaster was running at max capacity with all their trains. The only snafu I can recall is Guardian opened 2 hours late. I didn't see a single ride go down for difficulties during the time i was there. They have set a new standard in my eyes, then again I beleive they also have a park buyout the day before and the week before but I could be wrong. Maybe more parks need preview days to work out the kinks. Get in cheap with expectations that not everything is going to be perfect, and everyone learns the ropes.
  17. Thanks for the report. Were the other trains in pieces or did they look like they were ready to put on sometime soon?
  18. This is awesome news -- do you happen to know if the prices posted include tax or not?
  19. If anyone is going to the park tomorrow can you please report what is open, closed, how many trains, etc.? Thinking about going Sunday with my pass and using one of my BAF tickets, but if it's out of control or lots of rides are closed I'll wait. Thanks!
  20. Wonderland info is all over the place. Nothing during the day? A.M. vs P.M.? etc.
  21. How does early entry work? Do they check at the turnstiles for your platinum pass and keep all regular guests behind the turnstiles until opening time or do they let all guests into the park behind a barrier and you just flash your pass / key / etc. to get past the barrier?
  22. Just got back. 3x leviathan. 2x behemoth. 1x wonder mountain's guardian. 1x mine buster. 1x vortex. 1x stunt coaster. Food lines were out of control (as expected during the opening weeks) operations were slow (the seat belts on Leviathan are new, right?) but lines were not too bad. Nothing to really report other than a lot of people enjoyed watching slingshot and I thought bohemoth was extremely shakey. Everything else was running fine though a lot of closed seats on guardian and it opened late, but overall a good day! Oh and the platinum passes are really cool looking. Don't know if the regular passes are the same or not. Not sure if it's a new thing, i know at kings island they were just black generic cards last year. At least when I got one.
  23. Any details on 2015 pass holder benefits? Bring a friend discount days, food discounts, etc?
  24. Because it's being billed as the longest coaster in Orlando, and Intamin launched coasters are not very long. The longest coaster currently in Orlando (according to RCDB) is Expedition Everest, at roughly 4,400 feet. To top that, it'd most likely have to be some sort of out and back model. Of course, that could indeed include a launch over a top hat like the rides you mentioned, but personally I don't see Seaworld going in that direction. I was thinking of what would be unique that Busch doesn't have, but I totally forgot Cheetah Hunt is launched... woops.
