Thanks for this recommendation! Our party of 4 all had a wonderful meal. No complaints whatsoever except I got one of the specials and it contained a crab cake as part of it, however that was the one thing of everything we all had that could have been better. From the bread, to the mussels, to the ribs, to everything else we had, all great stuff! And the service was phenomenal as well.

From 10-11:30 the ride lines in the back of the park were non existent today in the morning but it picked up pretty quickly after that. Toro (which opened up late today) had no line when I went a little later on, and Ka was a "walk on and wait" because they had 3 trains going but they were waiting to fill trains up and allowing re-riding. We requested the front but since they needed to fill the vehicles they wouldn't let us wait. We did second row and last row. Damn it's shakey and hurts the front of my shoulders even with my arms down (well.. holding on to my mask) -- 2 rides was enough despite the fact we could have stayed riding over and over. Superman surprisingly had no wait at 12. You can always look at queue times to get an idea of crowds. https://queue-times.com/parks/37/queue_times One other random thing, at the gate they were handing out cards to fill out a survey online. For participating you get a barcode coupon on your phone for $5.00 off just about anything in the park. It literally took about 90 seconds. It was strictly demographic questions. I activated it at SFA yesterday.

FYI in case anyone was wondering season passes from parks other than SFGADV will not work for the safari. Our $50 SFA passes were a no go and they wanted to change $50 for the both of us to drive through. No thank you. Memberships will work fine. Doesn't really make sense considering it's normally included with admission with the trucks, but whatever... PS: El Toro is still awesome.

Took us about 5 hours waiting in food lines strictly to use our tasting cards we purchased. The rides, wasn't even going to try. Would have bought QQ but Griffon didn't open until 2 or 3 ish, and then by 5 it looked like it closed down again. Other lines looked crazy. We just stuffed or face with food and alcohol. We'll be back again soon I'm sure to do the rides once pantheon reopens, plus we have rides at two Six Flags parks the next 2 days, so we had an enjoyable day out of the house.

You can get a season pass with parking for $60 good at all SF parks for an entire season A one day ticket would have to be $35 to even break even in one visit due to $25 parking, unless you plan on visiting with someone else who has parking covered, or have kids that don't need parking, etc. I'm guessing one day tickets would be $39 at their lowest but I don't know for sure. +Online fees either way. So at the very least you should still get 1 pass for yourself to come out ahead. No plans to visit a second SF park all season which would guarantee a cheaper rate for anyone and everyone? I'm sure single day tickets will be released soon. You can't even make reservations yet. I'm sure once reservations open up the mostly full season schedule will be up and they will sell tickets.

That seems like an easy way to abuse the system / share with others, assuming that its not using near field communication like Disney is going to and just using a barcode to scan. Screenshots / etc. That does sound great though. I think at one time SeaWorld did something similar with their one time QQ for individual rides and just pay on your phone no need to pick anything up (Antarctica comes to mind) but I haven't seen that anywhere else. I don't think it lasted long, though. The idea was you saw the line was long do right then and there you purchase your pass, skip the line once, and go on with your day. -
Single day tickets are 49.99 for the event, not the normal full day ticket price, just fyi. They technically should have been $39.99 since it's the same ride list as St Patrick's from what I can tell, so it's essentially a $10 cover charge for the food and wine if you want to think of it that way. -------- ^ Edit: I was incorrect they changed the prices on the calendar from when I looked and bought the other day ---------- Alpengeist and Tempesto are really the only major losses, but maybe we'll get lucky and they underpromise and over perform on the weekends. Lots of frozen drinks on the menu this year, typically my wife wants straight up cocktails. Haven't done this event in a long time but I felt like years back they had the non frozen stuff. I could be wrong. Still bought my 15 taste card lol. EDIT: oh wait, I stand corrected, they did jack up the prices. On April 2 they are charging 74.99, I bought them for $49 the other day. Other days are less. Glad I purchased a few days ago [emoji15]

If operating Kraken (SWO) taught me anything, it's that run times vary GREATLY depending on weather/weight/etc. There is a timer for every cycle that showed on the screen and it always shocked me how big of a variance there was from a cold morning to a sunny afternoon. A 2 second difference in the videos you saw doesnt mean anything. Just as any other coaster I'd assume you'll see a much wider variance than two seconds even during the same day for the exact same ride so comparing the two isn't really a fair comparison if it's only 2 seconds because I'm sure you can find two POVs on the old lightning rod or two POVs on the new lightning rod and see the same variance. All of that being said, looking forward to trying this again! As someone else said, visibly I've seen el toro crawl through the layout on a windy day (and subsequently valley near the end of the ride, lol) which is unheard of to most people. -
The drive thru safari reservations just opened up today, fyi. Going to do the drive thru at 9am on Easter before the park opens at 10. Has anyone done the drive thru safari last year with a non Great Adventure season pass for free (not a membership)? I can't remember where I read that only Great Adventure passes would work. I was able to make the reservation with the SFA pass but I wanted to make sure they weren't going to try and charge me when I get there. Edit: found in the FAQ. Anyone have a different experience?

April 1st is a Thursday, what parks are opening on the 1st (other than potentially some California Parks; that is the earliest they can open, with some restrictions, only if they chose to -- there hasn't been any announcements I'm aware of)? Many parks will be open that day for spring breaks, but that is not opening day for any of them? -
I would agree with Canada's Wonderland. Before Yukon Striker I felt we would ride like 4-5 different coasters (vortex, leviathan, behemoth, stunt coaster), over and over and neglect the rest of the park. The flippy plane ride was cool until they neutered it and made it nearly impossible to flip, and wonder mountains guardian was OK when the screens actually worked right. Granted there are a LOT of great flat rides but the lines are either too long or they mostly make me sick. The lines are always huge during the day; we typically took advantage of the Sunday early entry they had and rode as much as we could the first 3 hours. We'll spend less time at the park then the time driving there and back at times. Its my "home park" in quotes, but it's hard to believe how many coasters they actually have. We don't normally have Fast Lane but I bought the all-season platinum one, so if the border ever opens up I'll have to go around and try a lot more rides again. There might be some diamonds in the rough. Or just rough in the rough. I haven't been on any of the woodies in awhile...

I will also be planning my first (!) visit to this park (I'm kind of forced to make this my "home" park since it will be the first park I visit this year and didn't buy a Six Flags pass last year; despite Darien Lake being 32 minutes away.) Stinks that other SF parks always open sooner so I can never have a proper home park with where I actually want the benefits. I love a good wooden coaster and ive actually heard a lot of good things about Wild One/ROAR (I forget which one) lately so I think I'm looking forward to that the most. I haven't watched a POV or anything so hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise. The rest looks very meh but I always enjoy new parks since it's so rare I visit a new park nowadays. I REALLY liked SF St Louis despite the hate it gets. Thanks for nothing, Kings Dominion-opening-late EDIT: Does this park have the souvenir/Dining plan bottle holders for the coasters on the platforms? Or do any rides require a locker strictly for the drink bottle? ... I got roped into the dining plan...
