  1. Wow. This is one sexy coaster. Can't wait to see how the rest of the ride comes out. Thanks for the pictures!
  2. New pictures on GCI's Facebook! "A view of some future great first drop photos" "About to jump over Atlantica." "The lift hill structure is complete."
  3. I pass it every year when I go to North Carolina. Seems like a world-class tourist trap. What's worse than going to that park? Probably having to see those cheesy billboards every mile for 100+ miles from there. :/
  4. Probably the first time I rode El Toro. I was sitting in the back car with my hands up, (before the drop, that is). When we started going down, I had the biggest heart attack feeling that lasted the entire ride. I know it's a safe coaster and all, but I was pretty young and didn't know what airtime truly was up until that moment. It was pretty terrifying for an 11-year-old. But at least now I'm fearless on other coasters Another experience was on River Adventure at IOA. I was sitting next to a massive individual and the lap bar was more than a foot away from comfort. The entire ride I was apprehensive about the big drop because I thought I was definitely gonna fall out. Luckily, and obviously, I didn't!
  5. those look like concrete footers for the coaster, and some supports Agreed on the Footers. But those don't look like supports to me. Well I'm wondering about the supports. Could it be that they were placed there to prevent erosion or something?
  6. The barrel roll is basically a half overbank. Instead of doing it like MF, it breaks at the second half and just goes straight. Seems like it'll be a mean element with lots of force! I really hope this B&M offers an experience different from the others. Thanks for the pictures!
  7. Second to last picture- What are those? Thanks for the update, the coaster looks so small with that building hugging it. I wonder if they'll theme the outside or just leave it black
  8. I wish it had a music video, it would be epic.
  9. It's been a week, and my memory is pretty short-term. But if I can remember, he was average height, skinny, I think he had facial hair. I do remember him wearing a blue hat, can't remember the logo.
  10. Hmm, I think his name was Chad, does that ring a bell? I may be wrong.
  11. ^ I believe you, I probably rode it when you weren't there. It was later in the day. about mid-afternoon. I doubt someone from TPR would be as slow as the crew I experienced was. I'm not necessarily judging the entire crew, just that one guy that was sleep-standing, he was extremely slow.
  12. ^^^^ I rode Kingda Ka this summer too, and the ride didn't bother me at all. ^And I think this thread is much longer because it allows for stronger opinions that could spark some discussion rather than the other one which only requires a one-sentence statement that is most likely speculation-free. I still think that Wild Eagle is pretty overrated. It has a really bland B&M layout and is only getting the hype because of its ride-type and location.
  13. And let me announce here and now that if it does turn out to be "Twilight Land," I will commit seppuku. I'll join you. If Twilight world ever comes anywhere near Universal, I will lose all of my faith in humanity.
  14. Just out of curiosity, what do the most of you all consider to be the worst B&M and worst Intamin? I've been on (only...) 3 Intamins and 12 B&Ms and don't dislike any of them, so I've never quite been able to judge the companies like most of you can. I'd appreciate the input!
  15. This park sure loves yellow and red coasters Hopefully vertical construction will start soon, so far both of the completed 2012 Wing riders look amazing. I'm sure this one won't disappoint either. It looks, in my opinion, to be the most thrilling of the three opening next year.
  16. I've been on Jaws a few times, and it was a nice time-filler ride, like most rides at Universal. I think it is pretty outdated at this point so it does make sense for it to go. As intriguing as the HP expansion sounded (actual Hogwarts Express would be amazing), I don't think it should be expanded to another park. I think that would be going a little too far with the island, and that's coming from someone who is currently wearing a WWoHP t-shirt. I just think that Universal should use the land for something more unexpected, like an aquatrax! (too soon?)
  17. I just read the post on Facebook. That lady definitely overreacted to what it didn't mean at all.
  18. Riding Kingda Ka, El Toro at night, the ERT on Cheetah Hunt the night after opening day, riding my first stand-up (Green Lantern) , going to Islands of Adventure. First time I went to WWoHP, I was blown away, and getting a Fun Card for BGT this year, I forgot how awesome their coasters are Hopefully next year I'll get to meet some TPR members here in Florida, you all seem like the people I've been looking for my entire life
  19. I think the battle between this and X-Flight may have just ended, before X-Flight even went vertical!
  20. The newest B&M I've been on is SheiKra (unless SFGAdv. Green Lantern counts?) so I haven't been on any of these "new and boring B&Ms" so I really can't judge the Wing-Riders or Leviathan/Shambhala (This probably explains why I am a B&M fanboy). Though I do think Levi is a bit overrated by the GP's responses to CW's updates. I think Verbolten is my biggest interest for 2012 simply because of how unique it appears. From SkycoastinSteve's update, it looked like it interacted with its surroundings more than Wild Eagle has been said to do, which supposedly makes Wild Eagle rather overrated too. And knowing how much I adore Cheetah Hunt and its little pops of airtime, I'm sure this coaster won't disappoint either Skyrush also seems overrated by this site simply because it's an Intamin. BUT I can't really judge this one since I'm not experienced with the company's airtime abilities.
  21. There is an old restaurant that has a magic mirror that if you tell a lie while looking at it, it will suck you in. One day, a red head walked up to the mirror and said "I think I'm the most beautiful woman in the world" and it sucked her in. The following day, a brunette walked up to the mirror and said "I think I'm the most beautiful woman in the world" and it sucked her in. Finally, the next day, a blonde walked up to the mirror and said "I think-" and it sucked her in.
  22. The more Hogwarts, the better! I wonder how this one will relate to the one here in Florida. I doubt it'll have any major roller coaster since ours already had its coasters before construction. So I'm guessing this one will just have Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and HPatFJ??
  23. At the top of Canada's Wonderland FB page, someone commented "What is the new rides name" To the left of that post is a picture of a large roller coaster titled LEVIATHAN. Sometimes I wonder about some people...
  24. ^It's because Dollywood's coaster is opening in March, this one is opening in May/June so its schedule is exceptionally two months separate from Wild Eagle. In my opinion, this Wing-rider looks to be the most thrilling of the three being built next year, so I'm excited to see vertical construction finally start!
