What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
Koasterking48 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wile Firehawk/X-Flight itself doesn't scare me, those vests sure make me put faith in those Dutch engineers... -
Nice to see one of my local parks getting back up and going! I really wonder what the new coaster will be. While I hope it's a Aquatrax (to compliment Holiday World's mega-lite I hope they get ), it may be something more like a Mauer Sohne. I recall seeing a picture on their website of one, though that obviously doesn't confirm it.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

^Already been posted a few pages back. But I agree that this was a fantastic video. -
You shut your dirty mouth. Sorry, but Standups in general are pretty terrible. It's hardly worth riding each year I go to Cedar Point. You don't necessarily need to tear it down, just convert it into a floorless or sitdown instead. It's strange that GA/DP's invertigo has had so many problems while Kings Island's isn't nearly as temperamental (at least, every time I go, the thing is rarely down).

^ Nice to know, but could you give more information about it please? Like, where is this located?

Very very very amateur photographer here. Here's a quick HDR pic I messed with. FYI, my camera is like 10 MP so the quality is pretty low

Best B&M Coaster Type?
Koasterking48 replied to I305's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would say that my favorite is the "old-school" inverts. Raptor and DD are among the best of the inverts, with Talon and Montu close behind. Sitting coasters are also some B&M's best. Kumba is one of my all time favorite coasters, and Hulk is fantastic as well. Wasn't a huge fan of Wildfire, plus I haven't rode Khan or Time Machine so I can't say anything about them. -
^ I couldn't agree more. While the coaster looks excellent, the surrounding area looks incomplete. Where are the switchbacks that almost every coaster should have? While I haven't seen it in person, I am assuming that the line is going to unnecessarily spill out on to the midway unless the hallway is much longer than it looks.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Koasterking48 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The park is definitely a two-day park at the least. One day for HW and one day for Splasin' Safari. Two days is kinda excessive (I manage one day trips every year with no time crunch problems). Unless you want to go on a weekend in July or plan to return another day later on in the year, one day should be plenty. The theme park area on a week day shouldn't take much more than a few hours, while the water park is a good 4-5 hours of your day. As for the suggestions, Plymouth Rock for dinner and Safari Pizza for lunch. Do the entire thanksgiving section in the morning and then head to the water park. Go there and get every thing you want to do done. Now head back to Halloween and get the Legend and Raven done. Afterward, you're pretty much given short lines on anything in the dry park. Have a good time EDIT: You can do the parks in two days if you really want to the full HW experience and ride everything. Sorry, I was speaking from a POV of a person who has visited many times and am not sure what a new comer prefers. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Koasterking48 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The thing about Holiday World is that reactions to the roller coasters are polarizing in general. My GP friends hate all of them and really wish they will build a steel coaster soon. I actually agree with them on this, but not their opinions about "wooden coasters sucking." -

This may sound weird, but I love the fact that nothing has been leaked or revealed about this coaster other than the name. I really like the speculation aspect and am going to be surprised/excited with whatever it may be. -
While the game doesn't work like you want exactly, Ellie and Joel get split up many times in the game. You are always anticipating when it will happen. While I don't want to ruin the story for you, the TPR members that have played through most of the game understand what I'm talking about when I say that I HATED THAT GODDAMN HOTEL IN PITTSBURGH

^^ Think if they held off on building Yolocoaster for another two or three years and focused on smaller investments and necessary improvements. I think that Yolocoaster would have a larger, more expansive layout and not be short and (dare I say) gimmicky. Unfortunately, they've pretty much scared off many families and are going to have to really try hard if they want to win them back in the future. While I do not know much about the Jay Thomas era, from what I heard he was a great GM and knew what the park needed. Who is the new guy anyway? EDIT: Sorry, didn't know their gender

^Trust me on this, the game is alone worth purchasing a PS3. All of those 10/10 reviews aren't lying and it is the best game I've played since Uncharted 2 (All-time favorite!). And try to be patient and not ruin the plot on Youtube. Good Luck

Something that bothers me in this pic is the triangular footer at, what appears to be, the largest/tallest support of the lift hill. Is Leviathan's biggest footer similar to this pic's? -

While I was really hoping it was going to be an Intamin Giga, a B&M invert is still a good addition if it happens. -

A dark ride in the old pirate building! Though the rumors are now saying it will be in the Colosseum building taking over the arcade and ballroom. -

While I'm impressed with your park as a whole, your Windseeker is the most interesting aspect of it. I am curious how you plan on making it spin and lift at the same time. -
NoLimits Coaster News!
Koasterking48 replied to Loefet's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'm freakin stoked about this sim. No Limits was awesome, and the sequel looks so much better. When they say 95% through, that makes me think that it will release in the Fall or Winter of this year. One can only hope!
