California Great America (CGA) Discussion Thread
XYZ replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guess I'm not the only one to ride Flying Eagles & Peanuts Pirates a lot. I like how CGA is getting these small things like those geysers in Whitewater Falls. Are those free? -
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW BGE) Discussion Thread

The height limit is usually because of the restraints, though when a coaster is built, the manufacturer and the park decides what age group is best for the coaster and they make the restraints so that it fits the age group. Some manufacturers like B&M make almost all their coasters have a 54" height requirement because they don't think that anyone shorter than that would want to ride it because of how intense it looks. Verbolten probably has a 48" height limit mostly because of the two launches as Pony Express (KBF) & Manta (SWSD) both are family launched coasters with a 48" height limit. Also, Disney is an exception since they manufacture a lot of the rides themselves, so they make their own safety requirements and Disney Parks are visited by a lot of children, so they have height limits that are usually low. -
Well, Terminator's audio did create a quote Robb uses a lot on his fantastic trip reports: "TAKE THE TUNNEL!" Really, unless it is something horrible, usually on-board audio makes a coaster better and enhances the experience. How do I get that "Nina Kleppe Likes this" photo! I need that! (It's on the 2nd page of "View More Smilies")

I'd rather have this: than this: Really, you won't tell the difference in the ride experience with that trim. -

I can see that this woodie will bring more popularity to Star Tower as the drop goes around it. -
What if Jurassic Park was real?
XYZ replied to PriestofSyrinx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If they were to create Jurassic Park, they better not have carnivores there or I wouldn't be going as it's too dangerous. -

I think it would be more amazing if the trains on the GCI woodie had LEDs on it so you see a "blue streak" at night time. -
The American government banning negative Gs. What's worse than living under a rock?

Your pathways are very large, "blocky", and seem to be following a grid. Put more flow on your paths. Other than that, the park has a good start. -

Ferris Wheel falls on top of a Go-Gator (Photo)

Ah man, I didn't get the Go Gator credit. -
I don't see Knott's removing Screaming' Swing anytime soon. It's an up charge attraction with a very striking profile. It's an additional moneymaker attraction and as long as it brings in more money than it costs to run it, it'll continue pulling in revenue. Also what is it with you and Skyflyers? I heard really good reviews on Skyflyers and I'm just hoping Knott's or Legoland will get one. (my two future home parks)

Roller Coaster Train Replicas

For a high quality product, I'm willing to pay up to $60, anymore than my parents would think I'm nuts. -

Ditto with me and that little beach house nestled in the crook of Boardwalk Bullet. They once interviewed the person who owned that house on "How the States Were Shaped" and it didn't seem like he minded. Though, I think he would have trouble selling his house. Anyways, wouldn't a partially enclosed tube would work, like on California Screamin' since if the noise is directed to the amusement park, the neighbors wouldn't care. -
My personal opinion is Ant-Man sounds too weird and "childish" for a big-budget movie. Anyways, I saw the Avengers on Sunday and it was amazing. It might classify as my favorite movie. Usually action movies don't have a good plot, but I just see it for the action. Avengers both has an amazing plot and amazing action. My favorite superhero is the Hulk after his dispute with Loki.
